Just five days after going to jail to begin his 150-day sentence, Jussie Smollett is a free man again. Considering what’s been happening in D.C. to people who, at most, trespassed, the whole Jussie saga has been disgusting and this is one more chapter to irritate or even enrage those who believe in the rule of law. However, much as I hate to say this, the appellate court that released him while his appeal is pending probably made the correct legal decision. (snip) Smollett’s attorneys had argued that he would have completed the jail sentence by the time the appeal process was completed

Maybe the release is just a hoax and the justice system is going to teach him a lesson and then throw him back in jail. THAT would be funny.

Money talks and BS walks.
This is not a real surprise, Jussie has that Melanin immunity.
IMO he got off with a light sentence and should have spent his time, but seeing the Justice system work for those with money while screwing over those without is not a real surprise.

The "judges" that let him walk are not fit to hold office.

Besides claiming his innocence, Smollett is also now claiming to be immuno compromised and in danger of Covid if kept in jail. After his I'm not suicidal speech on the way out of the court room he was held in a psych unit. Smollett is using his lawyers and minimal acting skills to set up multiple reasons to be kept out of jail regardless of his guilt. I hope the Appeals Court sees through this charade and gives him the same lecture the first judge did before they throw his useless butt back in prison.

Justice equity in action. Proving there are two rules of justice. One for the elite. One for everyone else. Get used to it. It is now the norm.

The danger in placing a false report with the police concerning a hoax crime is the possibility that someone in the wrong place at the wrong time, an innocent person[s] could be arrested and charged with a crime that never happened. It is also entirely possible that they could be convicted and punished for something that never happened. No doubt that the liar, Juicey Smellit, would have stood by his story and allowed innocent people to be imprisoned. That is why he should serve the same sentence that someone who had committed such a crime.

It should have been based on the merit of the appeal which obviously there is none. Of course for certain people merit is never considered thus the beginning of a Banana Republic.

THIS is one of the reasons we are all so jaded re: the Justice system. (And that includes Bill Barr honest to default---except for his "colleagues" to whom he gives more slack than imaginable). Also recall that at the very beginning of the Smollett fiasco Michelle Obama instructed her people to look into it and HELP it to disappear.

This routine release during appeal is the correct decision under the law, and has nothing to do with Smollett's race, alleged money or alleged influence. If he was refused this release his supporters would loudly (and forever) shout - by a factually well based and supportable - public relations campaign to thereby make Smollett a martyr. It's evident that Smollett, by loudly professing his innocence while exiting the courtroom, is planning to be the next Al Sharpton. Remember the Tawana Brawley fiasco?
The real outrage is the flyweight sentence Smollett has received; it's a mere tiny tap on Smollett's wrist. He won BIG TIME in that respect, and he (and his attorneys) know this!
His attorneys are elated, smirking, and jumping for joy, while the prosecutors must be silently weeping in what they perceive is a dismal pyrrhic victory.
The current outcome of this case - from the prosecutors' viewpoint - can be visualized the amount of money and work expended (water) flowing into one end of a pipe at the rate of thousands of gallons per minute, while a few drops are trickling out at the other end (the results).

Jussie will parlay this into a lifelong scam. He will use his own criminality to promote himself and it will work. He will become a hero to the black wokester class. Wait and see, he will be at every function with his story of persecution. It doesn’t matter that it is a complete criminal fabrication, all that matters is that he set the narrative and the non-thinkers will be there supporting him. This is a disgusting fact of life in this country because the entire country is being bullied by a small minority of liars, cheats and frauds.

If he loses the appeal, he goes back to jail. Watch the appeals go on for decades, ending up at the Supreme Court.

Jussie Smollett is not dangerous, he's just an ignorant, racist jackass who craved attention. The country has much bigger problems with that race and the Rule of Law is now a joke to just about everybody.

Since it was an appellate level judge who ordered this, I would suggest exposing this judge to the light of a media exam. Since this is Chicago, very possibly this judge got a call from Obama or Moochie and suggested that the judge intervene.

Disappointed that Jussie Smollett’s attacker was on the streets again. Was hoping for a longer time inside.

Juicy might try the same insane thing again. He doesn't have enough moxie to take a real beating (like Scorpio in Dirty Harry, who hired a black thug to give him "every penny's worth" of a beating) so he could blame it on Harry. But Juicy isn't worth a 240gr .44 Remington Magnum slug (out of a Smith & Wesson Model 29) through the heart. He's really kind of worthless, not to mention a convicted liar. What will you encore be, John Wilkes?
