After two years, the media acknowledged that cloth face masks don't work to prevent the spread of COVID. Now our governors can align scientific consensus with policy. After CNN and The Atlantic reported that face masks don't work, California and nine other Democrat governors revoked their state indoor mask mandates. That leaves only four states with continuing statewide mask mandates.Has the evidence on masks changed? No.The CDC reviewed the scientific literature pre-pandemic and highlighted that ten high-quality randomized controlled trials (RCT) demonstrated that masks failed to prevent transmission of respiratory viruses.

Wherever I go in my California desert community, I see more and more people ditching the masks. Because it’s Kalifornia, the schools are still hard-assed about making the kids wear the face diapers. I stick with subbing in high schools only, because I don’t want to deal with having to require grade school kids to comply. I’m not real strict in the classrooms about the high-schoolers who seem to be ok emotionally and consider the mask thing a joke they have to put up with. I hope (perhaps vainly) Newsom will see the light and buck the anti-child unions.

Quick before my wife sees me doing this. I'm still on holiday in Kauai. Maskmania still prevails here. Although I notice that most visitors at the resort we are staying at totally blow it off except for when you have to go up to the front desk at a restaurant when your table reservation comes up. Gov. Ige isn't willing to let go of it...yet.

Very true. You see them in Wally World, on the sidewalk and driving their cars alone, all masked up and fearful. Walk too close and they veer away. Look at them and their eyes narrow because they do not approve of your bare face. Stand by one at the dairy case that they are monopolizing until they choose which pack of cheese to pick up and they walk away without choosing. It has become a new mental illness.

My son calls them Branch Covidians. It’s their religion. They signify their faith by wearing a mask everywhere, including their own backyards. Death scares them beyond their capacity to reason. They also don’t have God. Gee, I wonder if there’s a correlation there?

I know a 30-something young leftist woman who was so terrified of covid that she barely left her house for 18 months. She got double-jabbed and boosted and then got covid from her fully jabbed in-laws at Christmas. She wouldn’t spend the holiday with her own parents because they are conservatives who are part of the control group. When she got sick, she almost had a nervous breakdown. Covid is all but gone and she now has antibodies and natural immunity but she STILL wears a mask whenever she sets foot outside her house. It’s a hell of a way to live your life.

The masks give power to the common Karen’s. Something they have dreamed about for years.

I work for a big box store. The vax mandate was stopped with the Supreme Court ruling. I got the first shot but will not get the 2nd. Right now the employees have to wear masks when the store is open. I made my mask out of scrap fabric. It doesn't go under my chin.

I don't see any problem with leftists continuing to wear their masks, as long as they are willing to pull them down whenever they need to be compared with the picture on their ID. Many of them are probably more less unattractive when they do wear their masks.

The left can't ditch the masks because they're fully indoctrinated and can't let go of their superiority.

I haven't worn a mask in at least 8 months, and resisted intensely before that, frequently just ignoring the "masks required" signs in many places, including all over Yellowstone last summer. When it was required, the mask went on after I entered a store, and cam off before I left....unless I just ignored them. A number of times I was one of two or three people in a whole big, busy store without a mask. Never got the ChiCom virus.
Masks are BS, and I don't and won't wear them.

The lefties can wear their masks for the rest of their lives and be buried with them for all I care. Just leave me alone.
