Alec Baldwin may have fired the shot that killed “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins without pulling the gun’s trigger, a New Mexico prosecutor says.
Santa Fe District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies told Vanity Fair she had watched Alec Baldwin’s bombshell interview with ABC in December and was drawn to the actor’s claim that he did not pull the trigger.
“You can pull the hammer back without actually pulling the trigger and without actually locking it,” Carmack-Altwies said. “So you pull it back partway, it doesn’t lock, and then if you let it go, the firing pin can hit the primer of the bullet.”

The regime is very upset with the serfs.

Kamala Harris told reporters Sunday that the U.S. may face 'some costs' associated with involvement in Europe should Russia invade Ukraine, which she claims is all but certain. When asked before departing Germany for the U.S. if Americans should be braced for economic fallout from involvement, the vice president said 'sure.''When America stands for principles, and all of the things that we hold dear, it requires sometimes for us to put ourselves out there in a way that maybe we will incur some cost,' Harris told a group of seven reporters in Munich on Sunday. 'And in this situation, that may relate to energy costs, for example.' CORRECTION*

One of the enduring mysteries of the Trump era - 'who is Q' - appears to be solved, sort of.Two sets of forensic linguists have published two separate papers using two different techniques to conclude that Q appears to be two people: South African tech journalist Paul Furber, 55, and 4chan internet message board moderator and computer entrepreneur Ron Watkins, 34, according to the studies. 'While relying on two completely different technologies, both stylometric [quantitative study of literary style] analyses could establish that QAnon's early period on the 4chan forum, from October to December 2017, was likely the result of a collaboration between Paul Furber and Ron Watkins,

Unless the goal is to receive backslaps from a sycophantic mainstream media, it’s not a good time to be a Democrat. Things have collapsed in ways that didn’t seem possible over the last six months. Sure, it was expected that the party in power would see some regression, but at this level?
Inflation continues to be a top concern among Americans, with January’s number clocking in at another multi-decade high. People are seeing their buying power eroded, and with gas prices set to explode further over the next year, there is no relief in sight. Meanwhile, Russia is on the verge of starting a major war in Europe, Afghanistan

American teenagers have gotten the short end of the stick for more than two years—being forced to attend school either in a mask or via Zoom, while missing out on countless rites of passage despite their virtually nonexistent chance of falling seriously ill from Covid-19. And now—as the far more mild Omicron strain enters the rear-view mirror and things begin to return to normal—used cars have become so expensive that many teens can't afford them, according to the Wall Street Journal.(Snip)Meanwhile, teenagers are earning less than before—with median wages for workers aged 16-19 having increased 14.6% over the last two years

Retired Army Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman on Sunday accused allies of former President Donald Trump of "fanning flames" and encouraging Russia to invade Ukraine amid escalating tensions in the region. "These people and a great deal of the GOP leadership will have blood on their hands. They're fanning flames, encouraging Putin to attack Ukraine," Vindman tweeted. "Putin and his regime perceive opportunities because such fools suggest the U.S. is weak, divided, and distracted." (Snip) Vindman's suggestion that the GOP is creating a divisive climate around the Russia-Ukraine conflict comes as several other Republicans recently complained that President Joe Biden has

The black clad army of mercenaries and police brutalizing a peaceful protest in Ottawa this weekend has been planned for years. It is overkill for a reason. It is theatre. It is an othering, a willful flagrant statement on the future of the working class everywhere. It instructs them: you will die. If not now, then sometime in the next ten years. Your towns will be gutted, your jobs will evaporate,

Buying a house is a challenge for many—especially those who are single and struggle save for a hefty deposit by themselves. One woman, influencer Elise Buch, knew all about that and was gutted when she realised she couldn’t afford to buy a home. However, Elise didn’t let this get her down and instead realised that with the money she did have, she could afford to buy a shed instead.(Snip)Elise added: “There’s a tiny kitchen here, it doesn't have any water anywhere yet. “I have an oven, pretty basic. “Then if you go further out here, it’s possible to install a bathroom and a toilet.

It has often been said that the Republican Party is the “party of old white men.” Indeed, when one looks at the party’s makeup, one can easily see why this moniker has persisted for so many decades. However, there are signs that times are a-changing, and the conservative movement is beginning to look a little different.
Newsweek’s Steve Friess wrote an article titled “GOP Bets on Black Conservatives As Key to Victory: ‘We Change or We Die,’” in which he detailed the increasing prevalence of black conservatives running for office as Republicans.

A study finds that suspects in violent crime in the District share a lot of characteristics. The National Institute for Criminal Justice Reform looked at the numbers for homicides and nonfatal shooting in D.C. in 2019 and 2020, and found that “most gun violence is tightly concentrated on a small number of very high-risk young Black male adults that share a common set of risk factors.”(Snip)While the motive for the shooting “may not be a traditional gang war,” the report says, “often shootings are precipitated by a petty conflict over a young woman, a simple argument, or the now-ubiquitous social media slight.”

I’m one of the beta testers and I’m really enjoying it! It’s a lot like Twitter in the format but the creativity and diversity of content is icing on the cake. They also have an archive of Trump’s old tweets and I’m laughing while I binge read them!
