An active protest is underway at the Manitoba Legislature.
The protest, in support of the larger demonstration against COVID-19 vaccine mandates in Ottawa, formally kicked off at 9 a.m.
Police said they’re working with the event’s organizers to ensure the protest remains peaceful.
“The organizers have been pretty open with our members on the ground and pretty co-operative,” said police Chief Danny Smyth.

A dog named Bullet helped save the lives of a clerk and a store manager in Philadelphia on Tuesday by engaging two armed suspects, the manager said.
The incident took place just before 4:00 a.m. at the Big A corner store in the 5500 block of Torresdale Avenue in the Wissinoming neighborhood, according to KYW.
“Two people come with a big gun and small gun, they come in straight up and put the gun to the girl’s head and my head and said like don’t move,” said store manager Sammy Aloubehi.

The Olympics are starting in China? I really didn't care to notice. Good luck to all the individual athletes in their pursuit of being the best. But I won't be watching these Genocide Games promoted by the Chinese Communist Party. Why? Just because they seem to use this international event of unity held in their sovereign borders as an implicit agreement to their own domestic policies. The 1936 Berlin Games are a stark reminder of such hubris. The 2014 Sochi Games was just a recent reminder. I will watch these talented athletes in other international competitions without the heavy-handed propaganda of the host country at any time.
