One America News Network will no longer be available as part of the DirecTV lineup once its current contract expires. The digital satellite service announced that conservative network OAN will not have its current contract renewed, which will likely happen in April, according to Bloomberg.“DirecTV, one of the largest U.S. pay-TV providers, plans to drop One America News Network, dealing a major blow to the conservative channel that’s been criticized for spreading misinformation and had a loyal fan in former President Donald Trump,” wrote the outlet’s Gerry Smith.“The satellite-TV provider has notified OAN’s owner, Herring Networks Inc., that it plans to stop carrying the company’s two channels when their contract expires.

Well DirecTv, we dropped you 3 years ago and never looked back.

Using the misinformation excuse is getting old. The major networks and newspapers have been misinformation machines for decades. Let's start removing them from the airwaves too. Just don't allow them to be able to renew their broadcast license.

I guess the next step might be to nail me inside my apartment since I'm not vaxxed and will never be? W.T.H. has happened to this country! They seem to be just pushing and pushing and one day it will be too far. Mike Lindell's bank has cancelled him and his accounts. Again I say, W.T.H.

DirecTV sucks! Comcast, DTV, and others are dinosaurs anyway. Stream.

Is this the service that doesn't work in inclement weather?

I’d dump them but we did that back in 2015. When we first lived on our farm it was the only thing available. Then a local internet provider built a tower within eyesight of our house and we switched everything over.

Why make choices like this that alienate what few customers you have left?
We left DirecTV years ago. I can not complain about their service as they did have the best service department I have ever dealt with, on time, helpful, and they actually solved problems. But cable and satellite TV are dinosaurs and why should I pay for 250 channels, 245 of which I never ever watch. We just didn't watch that much TV. We stream and buy now and commercials are so last century. I don't miss DirecTV one bit tbh.

Dropped DirectTV a few years ago because the company was crooked carp, but OANN is carp too. They are nothing more than a radio show with a camera. Zero production values. I'd hoped they would improve over time as newmax did, but they didn't. They are still on my news list, but at the very bottom.

You don’t understand, AT&T is horrible for you to drop them. They pay very little to 3rd world people to take your berating for the anger you may feel for the company. They profusely apologize, then say,” Let me get you to someone who can help.” Then switch you to a person on the same level, whom you berate about the company and they apologize profusely and they say let me get you over to someone who can help…this keeps happening hoping you will just hang up in frustration. Even if you speak with someone who is supposed to “save the account”, they can do nothing. I tell the people I speak with, you are nice, but you work for a dishonest company who asks you to lie as part of your job.
Understand no one has pressured them into this, they WANT it, so OAN revenue can go to the likes of CNN, who no one watches.

Can someone advise me of a good, inexpensive replacement? I just cut my channels down due to their huge monthly bill. And what happens to that receiver on the roof? Do we have to return it?

I have DTV and we briefly had OAN but it went away months ago. We DO have NewsMax though.
Wish I had known we had it the night Biden stole the election.

I dropped Direct TV in 2016 manly due to the fact that ever time a storm came the reception went out. It just got annoying. My new cable company has OANN and Newsmax so I hope that Direct TV loses money of this latest stupidity.

#8 hit it. I've seen better produced by middle school kids. You don't draw an audience with "carp". There are free streaming services anyone can access that offer OANN, if one must have it.

Perhaps just coincidence. DISH doesn't carry OAN, but does carry Newsmax. Maybe OAN just doesn't draw enough viewers to justify carrying it.

AT&T is the most horrible company ever. They ran Direct TV into the ground. We got rid of them 5 years ago.

We dropped Direct TV years ago when their price went up, and packages included a bunch of channels normal people would never watch.
Don't miss them at all.

OAN had two strikes against them. Not only a RIGHT WING CONSERVATIVE network, understand DJT rally today was to be televised on that network.. Timing is everything. Lived without Direct 10 years now, hasn't hurt one bit.
With the streaming services and a smart tee vee, Roku and other apps keep us
updated and entertained. Might also add, the alternatives help to control blood pressure as well. For those who planned to use OAN to view DJT Arizona rally today and now find themselves unable to do so, travel on over to Right Side Broadcasting (RSBN); download their app and enjoy the festivities.

I dumped DirecTV several years ago due to ever increasing prices. What specifically hacked me off was the junk mail that I received telling me that as a new subscriber, I could get the same service that I had for about a third of the cost. I called their customer service and they graciously offered to lower my monthly bill by $5.00 a month for three months. I cancelled my service on the spot. Adding to my irritation was that every time a thunderstorm went thru the area, I lost reception. HELLO......I live in the south. This is a daily occurrence several months out of the year. And if there is a hurricane anywhere in your area, you can forget about signal when you need it most. You would think that they would offer a higher gain dish antenna.

Owned by AT&T, need we say more? That's the same company that turns over the phone records of private citizens to investigators without even a warrant provided.
