New York — More than 800,000 noncitizens and “Dreamers” in New York City will have access to the ballot box — and could vote in municipal elections as early as next year — after Mayor Eric Adams allowed legislation to automatically become law Sunday. Opponents have vowed to challenge the new law, which the City Council approved a month ago. Unless a judge halts its implementation, New York City is the first major U.S. city to grant widespread municipal voting rights to noncitizens. More than a dozen communities across the U.S. already allow noncitizens to cast ballots in local elections, including 11 towns in Maryland and two in Vermont. CORRECTION*

Non-citizens have no business being allowed to vote in any jurisdiction anywhere in the United States.
What eleven town in Md. allow this. I am sure one is Takoma Park , Montgomery County and the others are in the Washington Baltimore corridor.

Can these folks absentee vote from their native countries? It would only be fair.

Now the citizens of NYC should be disqualified from voting in State or national elections, that would be a fair trade off.

On an earlier thread - - I pointed out that the law allows cockroaches - - a group which has played an important role in the city's history - - to vote as well.
Then a later poster reminded me - - that rats - - who have also had significant roles in the city's development - - are also enfranchised by this law. It's only right and just - - that such important players as cockroaches and rats - - have a say in the city's future.

So NYC has fallen then? Or will, once people realize they can just show up from anywhere in the world and vote for control? Won’t the Chinese just flood the zone and own NYC outright?

So, NYC American citizens don't object to having their Right to vote being canceled out by illegal aliens' ballots?!

It is time for legal citizens of NYC to bombard the courts with lawsuits over this!!! No class action lawsuit either. All individual lawsuits and demand your day in court. This dilutes your legal votes, and that is about as unconstitutional as anything the Demon-Rats have done in history!!!

The democrat party has declared war on this country and many people are still apathetic. Those are the ones who believe something like this could never happen here. Well, it is happening at breakneck speed and their response is to bury their heads in the sand. This is the same mindset that has allowed heinous atrocities to be committed by tyrants down through the ages. Evil depends on it. There has always been evil in our midst but at the same time good men and women have held them in check. Clearly, the balance has shifted now and far too few good people want to enter the fray. They don’t want to stand up because it’s just too hard. Poor dears. Now evil has gained an enormous amount of power and still most people just want to keep their heads down and left alone, time is swiftly approaching when that will not be possible. We must understand evil is relentless, it never stops and is always pushing forward. It is up to us to take a stand and say, no more. We either fight for this country or we are going to lose it. I honestly believe NYC and some of our biggest blue cities are lost. Time to wall them off for the safety of the rest of us. There is no justification to let their poison seep into the rest of the country and destroy us.

And the NYS republicans sit with a dazed look on their face with one thumb \up their tailpipe and one in their mouth, swapping one for another on the hour.
If I can't ask you for ID Illegals will be voting along with the resident aliens. Nice work!

DeBlasio finally timed out as the toxic mayor who destroyed NYC and the voters wisely decided to elect another one just like him. Throw in an obese Manhattan DA who has never heard of a crime he would prosecute, the new Mayor’s team of friends and relatives and now future elections turned over to illegal aliens and you have things about to get worse.

Anyone following the mass exodus of W2's, 1099's, pensions and investment incomes leaving New York? They can't afford to lose Congressional seats so the fascists backfill with Section 8 housing, EBT cards and Obamaphones. Seriously, it is estimated since 2020 Summer lockdowns and businesses bankrupted a million have left, with their skill sets and money, but the population has remained static.

Clearly only US Citizens should vote in US elections. In this case all the foreigners now in New York City whether in the USA illegally or legally are citizens of other countries, and as such are able to vote in their home county elections, usually by absentee ballot, or directly by stopping by their home country consulate offices. Many of those foreigners are in the USA on temporary visas as tourists, for business purposes, or as foreign students, and of course all the new voters that this New York City voter law points out as being “dreamers” are actually deportable illegal aliens under the immigration laws passed by Congress in accordance with direct authority derived from the US Constitution. The “dreamer” description was invented by Obama and his crew to keep as many illegal aliens in the USA as possible, without ever being provided for in the immigration laws passed by Congress.
In New York City a million foreigners voting for leftist, progressive, or socialist Democrats will really have no practical effect outside the City, as Democrats of one degree or another always win in New York City elections. The only real effect down the line is if the New York City Democrats attempt to use the same voter rolls, that could contain the names of about a million foreigners, in upcoming State and Federal elections. The Democrats would not do that, would they?

Californiaco is next but it doesn’t matter because the Dominion machines are still plugged in and working just fine. Plus the print at home mail in ballots are the ace in the hole. The entire system is rigged. Nothing changes until something changes.

For the four years of the Trump administration, ICE should have been rounding these people up from the sanctuary cities and states, regardless of whether they get no help from local authorities, and deporting them promptly instead of releasing to show up later. We know that at least a portion vote with their fake IDs. It's the best thing we could have done for the election security of 2020. But we didn't.

This really has to be decided in the Supreme Court, although the latest from Sotomeyer, that wise Latininix, really devalues the Court, and worse yet, BRIER came out with stats of numbers of the supposed new covid cases yesterday in the U.S. that outnumber the population of the country by almost three times. What in h--- is going on????????????

How do they determine residency?
And, does that allow them to pay in-state tuition to local colleges and universities too?

This is against the constitution. Let's get a bunch of us from other states and go in and vote conservative. Then we can vote all the dems out. All we need is a million or so of us. We can totally change the outcomes of the election. It can be called Come-vote-in-NY-day.
