The American justice system failed former Brooklyn Center police officer Kimberly Potter. From the initial release of body camera footage, it was clear she made a tragic and deadly mistake. End of story. Full stop. Nothing was criminal about what happened, unless you consider the fact that Daunte Wright was a thugging animal who was pulled over for legitimate reasons and later attempted to be detained lawfully because of outstanding warrants for violence against women.
As the trial played out, my own beliefs surrounding the charges were only inured. Officers knew of his violent and extensive criminal background at the time of, and indeed were the reason for, his arrest.

No, I decry the loss of justice in Minnesota. What a horrible place it has become. Why would anyone work as a police officer in that place?

Let's remember that the US government has determined that the covid jab pharmaceutical companies cannot be prosecuted or sued for the tens of thousands of deaths they are causing on a daily basis, and they're doing it right before our eyes. We live in a lawless society, and it's being done just so a few people can own all the stuff and have all the power. It's evil and comes straight from the pit of Hell where the majority of them end up, but they only care about the here and now, even if they die before they fully realize their evil dreams. When do we collectively get to the place where we've had enough?

You have to hope that the Appeals Court Judges use common sense when they review the Potter case. Obviously the trail jury did not want to take any responsibility for the violent riots that had a good chance of being perpetrated in the area if they had found Potter not guilty.
Chances are that Minnesota is going to find it difficult in the future to recruit future quality police officer trainees as the prospective trainees will certainly recognize that over a police career of 25 or more years, that they are bound to be involved in one or more violent encounter situations with noncompliant criminals where an honest mistake could end up with them being sentenced to prison while the criminal walks free on the streets.

Th jury did what they were asked to do. That did not make the prosecution a just prosecution. Kim Fox was only prosecuted for Duante's death because it was the politically expedient thing to do. Keep the BLM/ANTIFA mobs calm and give the appearance of some sort of racial justice and payback against the racist police. Of course all of this ignores the fact that Duante had outstanding warrants, a long criminal record, resisted arrest, tried to flee the scene, and had an officer half in the felling vehicle. All of this is on video but it does not matter. THe criminal can be wrong 100% of the time but the police must be right 100 % of the time or they become the criminal under the current system. Kim Fox is a victim of the current system. Yes, she messed up and Duante died. However, he died because his actions set up a series of unfortunate event which led to his death. If you look at the entire picture, then Kim Fox's conviction is nothing to celebrate. It should leave you questioning who was really responsible for Duante's death. That answer depends depends on how you look at how the world works and sense of right and wrong.

FTA: "From the initial release of body camera footage, it was clear she made a tragic and deadly mistake. End of story."
It appears we "real conservatives" are getting a bit cavalier about the taking of life by the police or vigilantes. There's no oops clause in the law. Launch a bullet and there's no bringing it back. There's no recovery from death. Killing someone ought to be serious business to society. Suppose that oops had hit a bystander instead of a thug...a child, maybe. Oops. The city can write a check and send a card. "Real conservatives" would blame the thug. If he hadn't resisted...
The essential facts are that an ill-considered pullover was made. Potter herself said the purpose was to allow her trainee a chance to interact with the public. So, she had him pull over a black guy for violation of an air freshener hanging from a mirror - which she testified she would not have done herself. They were joined by a sergeant. Once established there was a warrant the trainee violated protocol, which went uncorrected, and hilarity ensued. The 23-year veteran officer (Potter) pulls her firearm out of apparent panic. (Her taser was on the opposite hip. The taser requires a different process to fire than a sidearm.) And so after five seconds to realize her error, she fires her gun and kills a human being. Oops...sorry about that, Chief.
Back the badge...remember that the next FBI outrage.

We need I.Q. tests for people in law enforcement who carry guns. I guess being totally stupid is a crime. And should be.

I don’t. I do agree with Mr. Beauregard and OP. This was an egregious miscarriage of justice. The irony was that she was justified in using lethal force.
Sacrifice this experienced police officer because another black thug went ballistic? Riot prevention?

Going to jail for a non-crime happened in Nazi Germany, Stalinist Russia, Maoist China. But the United States of Robert Mueller, 6/11 crimes, George Floyd prosecutions? Nah...

While we Deplorables in the choir loved your sermon, dear Author Beauregard, your mistake is when you bring logic and rationality to an emotional shoot-out, you gonna lose every time.

Miss Potter was clearly unsuited to the psychological rigors of her profession.
She should have been yelling glock glock before she shot him.

This verdict sends an extremely loud and clear message.
Do not, repeat DO NOT, get crossways with the law
in Minnesota.
If you go to sleep with Attorney General
Keith Ellison's Justice Dept., you will get
more than a good night's sleep.
