What Do We Do with the FBI Now?

Original Article

The events of the past five or six years have demonstrated to America that the FBI is no longer the unbiased law enforcement agency it once was. (snip) There are only two options: rehabilitate the FBI, or eliminate it. The current state is unacceptable in a functioning constitutional republic.(snip) The DoJ has not only failed to provide course correction to the FBI, it has arguably contributed to the problems. The rebuilding of the FBI should be overseen by a board chartered with the mission of rehabilitation, and staffed with people who care about integrity and understand what a well-functioning police organization should look like.

Flush the whole thing, fire everyone. The FBI was corrupt from the day it was founded. A consent decree won't fix that. It was born bad. And while we're at it, the CIA and DIA can go, too.

First of all, everyone involved in criminal behavior needs to be indicted, immediately. The next step is to remove everyone that was placed in any position of authority by Obama or Biden and given their walking papers. The organization needs to be downsized by 50%. This organization is corrupt and needs to be cleaned out. BUT do not stop there. The entire Department of Justice needs to be flushed out.

Give it An enema to flush all the crap out. Whoever gets elected president in 2024, will need to flush out the top 10 layers of the :FBI, DOJ, CIA, NSA, DHS,DOD or starters. Call it the Federal Government Reduction Act.

police chiefs are just as political as the local politicians that give them their positions. They have to be political to keep their jobs and have to cater to corrupt politicians. Sheriffs are at least elected. I would put sheriffs in charge of any oversight board. But I doubt that I will ever trust any federal police agency again; or support one. I do agree that the FBI should be moved to Oklahoma or Nebraska or some very rural small town in flyover country. Washington DC ought to be shut down and leave the lobbyists in it.

The Democrats, not one of them, cannot be trusted to be involved with anything that requires integrity. So, it'll be up to the Pubbies to git-er done. Fat chance there; finding more than two with the stones to make this happen may be a slog of futility. The cancer that is the FBI has to be cut out and destroyed, any remnants thereof or anyone associated in the slightest fashion kept as far away as possible. Like any infection, prior association would reinfect the corpus.

I disagree with trying to rehabilitate this rogue agency. There are aspects worth spinning off before it is jettisoned into the deep, but creating another board to oversee the present agency is just another opportunity for more corruption. I would move all criminal scientific laboratory investigation departments out of the Washington DC area to the middle of the country. There is no reason to centralize these departments in the DC area. The rest of the organization must be eliminated because the name FBI has become synonymous with corruption. There is no coming back “under new management” either because trust with the American people has been irretrievably broken. One thing to consider is to get rid of the lawyers who have gravitated toward these federal agencies. Unless they specifically are hired to do legal work, hire men and women whose background is in law enforcement. I honestly do not know what kind of indoctrination these law schools are implementing but it seems the last thing that is drilled into their students heads is ethics, personal integrity, and a clear delineation of right and wrong. Until that changes, hiring the product of these bastions of progressive dogma will only lead to more corruption. You cannot enforce the law if you do not respect and revere the law. The breakdown at the FBI is a result of men and women who pridefully believed they were above the law. Once again, a Biblical truth is affirmed. Pride goeth before destruction and an haughty spirit before a fall. ~ Proverbs 16:18.

Those agencies have no place in a free society. They have shown repeatedly that they have nothing but contempt for The Constitution or for us. They are no better than Mafia enforcers, and far more dangerous. Would we be better off if they disappeared entirely? Probably. Step 1 should be to repeal the Patriot Act. Then reduce their budgets by 10% across the board every year until the chicanery stops.

Eliminate the entire DOJ, including the FBI. While you're at it, eliminate all cabinet level departments other than War, State, and Treasury. All of the other departments have no role in the Federal government as it was envisioned by the Constitution. The original 13 (or most of them) would never have signed on to be part of the government we have now, and there would be no United States of America.

I agree with one poster. Fire everyone. Investigate and arrest those who overstepped authority and common sense - that includes any agent who entrapped people. Let them find jobs in police departments, if they can. If an FBI is needed, induct them from existing law enforcement. Make the appointments term-limited. Have them manage on-site police forces to do the jobs they did. Anyone who serves in the new FBI gets a little service bonus, and is exempt from future appointment - though they can advise, as necessary.

When Bill Clinton took office he immediately demanded the resignation of all the Federal attorneys, so he could appoint those the Democrats wanted. They must have already created a list of who they wanted before the election. The precedent has been set from that point and should be followed the next time the Democrats lose. The FBI is such a mess it should be eliminated. The Federal Marshals in the Dept of Treasury can assume all remaining functions the FBI had.

I'm glad that none of the J. Edgar Hoover haters have shown up on this thread. Hoover was a great American patriot and hero. He only used the dirt he discovered on politicians to keep them in line - - and to keep them from committing corrupt acts again. He never used any information for his own personal benefit - - or to help a political party. He had immense power - - and he used it wisely and patriotically. And his agents reflected his integrity and patriotism. Those truly were the days when 99.9999% of the FBI agents were honest and patriotic. I hope the Hoover Haters continue to stay off these threads.

This is like a building full of asbestos and sensitive explosives. You can remodel or demolish...and at what costs? Putting together a credible commission is impossible these days. Who do you trust? DOJ is as filthy as its component FBI (and you can toss in a number of law enforcement and intel community cousins). Bring in past directors, like Mueller or Comey, to guide the effort? Both have 24 kt reputations in Washington circles. Past AGs like Sessions, Barr, or Holder? Who do you trust? And once the demolition is underway, what's to stop leakage of legitimate national secrets? Actual damage to national security? A settling of political scores with dossiers getting loose? Let's merge the FBI with other Federal law enforcement, like DEA or Marshal's Service. You think it's the KGB now...what monster would this create? It's all very easy to dismantle or destroy the FBI...

Agree with all posters who say “shut it down,” and the practical way to do so is via “financial starvation.” One of the first acts of a Congess with a substantial Republican majority should be a phased defunding of the FBI (e.g, we will half your annual budget request, and expect the same next year and the next).

I'm afraid that nothing short of total disbanding and re-inventing will truly work now. It has been that corrupted. Seeing that will total deconstructing of the FBI will not happen, the next Republican POTUS must start a completely new & parallel agency or commission under direct supervision and empower them to basically investigate the "investigators". Once a few FBI agents are removed and punished with jail time, you'd be surprised at how fast the bad ones will leave or turn around. It's what the Knapp Commission did to the NYPD.

#30, Hoover probably meant well, there is no evidence to the contrary, but he missed some big things like the existence of La Cosa Nostra, which an informal survey of Little Italy in New York would have corrected. I admit, watching politicians and making sure they behaved was smart policy that probably kept agents very busy and politicians from doing even more harm. #28 has the wisest suggestion on the thread. Civilian management with zero power to conduct surprise raids, smear or spy on people and responsible for everything they do. The FBI have won far too many cases while using entrapment.

I'm not sure what we do with the FBI now. Our country is in a very, very, very bad place. The authors of this piece talk about putting a board in place to do this and that with the FBI. Well who exactly puts the board in place? Who writes the regulations, the job descriptions, the mission statement of this newly "appointed" board? The Executive Branch? The Legislative Branch. The Judiciary? Everyone one of these branches of the federal government is at least as corrupt as the FBI itself. The 50 state governors? Really? How many are trustworthy, Republicans included? The 50 state legislatures? We saw how they rolled during the 2020 election. We have a political and brutal out of control FBI run by a political and cruel out of control Department of Justice. So, disband the FBI? And then what? What takes its place? Again, who structures that entity? Ladies and gentlemen the United States of America is teetering on destruction and I know this blessed Christmas Eve, I should be more positive. I know God rules everything and his plan is mighty and great. But, it is disconcerting at best living through this horrible period in our beloved Republic. Regardless, everyone of my fellow Ldotters and especially our Miss Lucianne, God bless you all on this sacred and special night and day tomorrow.

In a recent article, the brilliant commentator Victor David Hanson asks, "What is behind recent pessimistic appraisals of democracy's future from Hillary Clinton, Adam Schiff, Brian Williams, and other elite intellectuals and media personalities?" His answer to this question is "that the left expects to lose power over the next two years[.]" Perhaps — but on the other hand, maybe the leftists' "pessimistic appraisals" are more of a verbal ploy to suggest they are concerned about democracy when in actuality they are participating in an attempt to enact a coup against democracy, against our beloved republic.

The House of Representatives has passed a bill that seeks to eradicate blasphemy against Islam. The bill, H.R. 5665, is truly remarkable as it amounts to Congress making a law respecting the establishment of Islam and reducing the United States government into a tool of the world’s ayatollahs. The actual text of the bill not only seeks to eradicate blasphemy against Islam around the world – and solely against Islam at that – but even requires the federal government to reorganize some portions of the State Department along the lines of an Islamic religious institution which will be responsible for interpreting the Quran.

Hillary suggested that if Trump or “someone of his ilk” is elected president in 2024, then American democracy is kaput. Foolishness? Knowing the conceits and delusions that infect her intended audience, her suggestion might not seem ludicrous.

The accepted wisdom amongst conservatives is that Joe Biden is a demented buffoon who is under the control of a leftist cabal in the White House, the individual members of which are unknown. However, Don Surber, who is one of the conservative blogosphere’s most astute political writers, has a different theory. He thinks that Biden is a savvy political operative as evidenced by a successful political career that has spanned almost 50 years. (snip) "Voters and pundits misread Biden. They thought they were getting a harmless and befuddled old man (snip) He knows how to stage and frame his presidency."

“AstraZeneca uncovers what's triggering blood clots after its jab” reads a recent headline from Mail Online. “Oh, oh, oh!” one feels like exclaiming. So, it is true, after all. After nearly one year of stonewalling and denials, they officially admit that the Covid vaccines can, in fact, cause blood clots. This will undoubtedly come as a great shock to those who believe the mainstream media narratives where all talk of vaccine injury has been hitherto dismissed as “misinformation” by those right wing anti-vaxxers. (snip) After all, scientists and public health officials have always reassured us that these vaccines are “completely safe and effective.”

Koushik Shaw, a doctor who practices at the Austin Urology Institute, told WaPo his practice saw a roughly 15% increase in scheduled vasectomies following the state’s Sept. 1 abortion ban. Shaw told the outlet patients are coming in, saying “‘Hey, I’m actually here because some of these changes that [Gov. Greg] Abbott and our legislature have passed that are really impacting our decision-making in terms of family planning,’ so that was a new one for me as a reason

Comrades, many American citizens stood jaw agape as they watched Australian metropolitan police departments begin cracking skulls and making arrests for violating COVID rules and restrictions. Yes, it always seemed like Australia, New Zealand and Europe were the beta testing ground to see if police would comply with jackboot arrests of their own community. Well, now we can see those same tactics being deployed in the U.S. New York City was the first large metropolitan area to require vaccination identification cards to enter restaurants, bars, dining establishments and various public and private venues. Now comes the enforcement part.

Between Joe Biden’s poor poll numbers and his party being increasingly out of touch with the American public, the Democratic Party is widely expected to suffer devastating losses in the 2022 midterms. But prominent Democrat lawyer Marc Elias is predicting that Democrats will try to use litigation to prevent some duly elected Republicans from serving. “My prediction for 2022: Before the midterm election, we will have a serious discussion about whether individual Republican House Members are disqualified by Section 3 of the 14th Amendment from serving in Congress,” Elias tweeted last week. “We may even see litigation.” [Tweet] Dan Gainor of the Media Research Center scoffed at Elias’s absurd idea.

The slapping incident occurred last Thursday during a flight from Tampa, Florida, to Atlanta, Georgia. It isn’t clear from the video what started the argument between Cornwall and the older man sitting in an aisle seat, but at one point, Cornwall is seen slapping the man and then drawing back her arm and making a fist as if to punch him before being restrained by others.
