It's hard to not find oneself full of contempt with the Biden White House, given its flatfooted response to soaring energy prices.
Nationwide average energy prices have shot up 70.63% since Joe took office back in January, going from $2.40 a gallon on Jan. 25, to $3.40 a gallon today, according to AAA data. In the eight western-most states in the union, plus Pennsylvania, the average goes as high as $4.71 a gallon. That comes on top of a record 69% rise in oil prices that occurred in the interim between Joe's "election" and the day Joe took office. That kind of pricing is known in markets as "anticipatory."

n an unprecedented broadside. Argentina’s Ambassador to Chile Rafael Bielsa on Monday branded Chilean far-right presidential hopeful José Antonio Kast “ant-Argentine” and “xenophobic.”
The comments, delivered less than 24 hours after Kast finished first in Chile’s presidential election with 27.8 percent of the vote, were swiftly condemned by governments on in both Buenos Aires and Santiago.
Kast, an apologist and supporter of late Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet, now faces a second-round run-off on December 19 against left-wing candidate Gabriel Boric.
Speaking in an interview with El Destape radio, Bielsa condemned the presidential hopeful’s “aggressive” attitude towards Argentina and compared Kast’s rhetoric and views to those of former US president Donald Trump

There's nothing like a smarmy, smug leftist who's realized he's cooked his own goose.
That brings us to the case of Chesa Boudin, the district attorney of San Francisco, who's effectively legalized shoplifting in the name of "criminal justice reform." He's prompted massive store closures with ugly videos of broad-daylight robberies on large and small stores. Boudin's refusal to prosecute has turned San Francisco into another socialist crime pit, Caracas. And now, like his mentor Hugo Chávez, he's facing a voter recall.
This seems to be concentrating his mind, given that he's suddenly changing his tune — and comically enough, fooling no one.

In Chile, the presidential election was straightforward: communism, or liberty. Pick one or the other. No soggy middle.
So guess which one got the most votes?
Yep, liberty, and I'm not talking about some namby-pamby nice-guy RINO kind of liberty, respectable at Santiago cocktail parties. It was 100-proof hard stuff liberty, prompting shudders from the press.
The Associated Press reports this:
SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) — Two onetime outsiders hailing from opposite extremes of the political spectrum received the most votes Sunday in Chile’s presidential election but failed to garner enough support for an outright win, setting up a polarizing runoff in the region’s most advanced economy.

In the name of promoting racial equity in that hotbed of racism known as Canada, a labor union representing 60,000 teachers and other educational employees there has restructured its voting system to weight the votes of minority members at the expense of others, in order to ensure an particular outcome in voting on the claim of racial equity.
Here's what National Post columnist Jonathan Kay found: (Snip for tweet) What with racial blending these days, it will be interesting to see how they plan to sort their members out. Will a member with three white and one black grandparent get a quarter vote? Or will everyone go the Elizabeth Warren route

Democrats were up to some slimey old tricks in their bid to ram through the nomination of radical, left-wing Saule Omarova into the position of comptroller of the currency, the nation's top overseer of banks.
At the hearings, Sen. John Kennedy triggered a ruckus after he asked what a lot of us are asking: "I don't know whether to call you 'professor' or 'comrade.'"
It prompted hollers of 'McCarthyism' from leftwing senators Sherrod Brown and Elizabeth Warren, along with 'racism' and 'sexism' and 'nativism.' Saule herself engaged in that, in a public-relations "build up" interview with New York magazine. The misnamed Lincoln Project, of course, went wild.

It's getting to pretty easy, convenient, and inexpensive to be an illegal alien in the U.S. under Joe Biden's new open-borders policies.
According to a report from JustTheNews, complete with pdfs of the actual documents:
Like travel agents preparing customers for a cruise, nonprofits working with the Biden administration have created detailed itineraries and information packets to help illegal aliens travel to wherever they want to go in the U.S., according to documents obtained by a Texas congressman.
Often courtesy of American taxpayers struggling to pay their bills during surging inflation, illegals are given free quality hotel rooms, plane tickets and transportation to the airport, travel maps,

Is Joe Biden plotting with House Democrats to replace Kamala Harris?
Sure looks that way, given some curious goings-on reported by Fox News's straight-news congressional correspondent, Chad Pergram: (Snip for tweet) According to the Daily Mail's report on the matter, citing Fox News's Jesse Watters show, where Pergram appeared:
'Our Capitol Hill Correspondent Chad Pergram tells us he's been hearing whispers suggesting there could be some new high-profile confirmation hearings on the horizon in the House of Representatives,' said Watters during the segment.

Has Kamala Harris grown so irrelevant the White House doesn't even notice her anymore?
Sure seems like it, based on this White House ceremonial blooper: (Snip for tweet) The occasion was the vaunted signing ceremony for Joe Biden's $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, hailed by the press as a "much needed win," "fulfilling campaign promise," and a "significant political victory." amid grand comparisons to FDR's New Deal. Joe "finally gets the 'big effing deal'" crowed Politico. Kamala herself campaigned for the porky measure, in one of the very few things she's done beyond posing for Vogue photo shoots,

It had to happen. You know it had to happen. As poll numbers sink for Joe Biden and fall even lower for Kamala Harris, it was only a matter of time before the fast-sinking U.S.S. Kamala started firing 'racism' projectiles against the slightly less swiftly sinking U.S.S. Brandon. According to this long report that ran in CNN by Edward-Isaac Dovere and Jasmine Wright: Suspicion has sprouted out of the bitterness. Last month, White House aides leapt to the defense of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who was being hammered with outrage by Fox News host Tucker Carlson and like-minded online pundits for taking paternity leave after the

Why on earth is Rachel Levine still employed anywhere in the government?
The department he used to lead, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, was apparently one slipshod operation on its COVID response, and is now engaging in some kind of cover-up:
According to the Epoch Times:
The Pennsylvania Department of Health is refusing to share complete information about how it counted COVID-19 deaths for reports ordered by the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
The reports were ordered when the House unanimously approved a resolution in November 2020 requiring the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee (LBFC) to review the Department of Health's reporting of COVID-19 testing and deaths.

How's George Soros feeling these days?
Seems his fair-haired boy, San Francisco's radical left-wing district attorney, Chesa Boudin, who's pretty much letting every thug in the city escape prosecution as San Francisco goes to hell, has drawn enough signatures to ensure his placement on a recall ballot come June 7, 2022 -- and then some.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle:
San Francisco voters will officially weigh in next year on whether District Attorney Chesa Boudin should stay in office, following confirmation from the Department of Elections Tuesday that campaign organizers collected enough valid signatures to qualify for the ballot.
The recall will be part of the the June 7, 2022, statewide primary election.
