Virginia gubernatorial candidate and former Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D) appeared to cancel or skip campaign events only days before Tuesday’s bellwether election.
McAuliffe, on Thursday night, did not show up for a “Get Out the Vote” (GOTV) event in Prince William County.
Instead, the candidate for Lieutenant Governor, Del. Hala Ayala, appeared in McAuliffe’s place. Following the recent trend of Virginia Democrat candidates having low turnout at campaign events, Ayala seemed to be speaking before a smaller crowd.

Earlier today, RedState reported on a disgusting, false smear that took place against Republican Glenn Youngkin as he rallied in Charlottesville, VA. A group of people stood in front of his bus, some with Trump hats on, posing with tiki-torches and pretending to be racist supporters of Youngkin. The scene was meant to be a call-back to the “Unite the Right” rally some years ago which caused such a political firestorm.
In what appeared to be a coordinated hit, media figures and members of the Terry McAuliffe campaign immediately spread the picture as proof that white supremacists support the Youngkin campaign. Yet, it was obvious the picture presented the opposite

As we’ve previously reported, the writing has been on the wall for Democrats for some time now, with President Joe Biden’s approval ratings approaching basement levels (freefalling after the Afghanistan debacle) and the Democrat-controlled Congress’ approval ratings among voters being even worse.
For example, earlier this week, Gallup Polling released numbers from a new poll that showed a devastating decline in support for Congress from Democrats – support that went from 55 percent in September to 33 percent in October. To repeat, that was 22 percent drop. Among Democrats. For the Democrat-controlled Congress.
Needless to say, if a new president cannot shore up his base of support in time

WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court agreed Friday to hear a challenge to federal regulations over power plant carbon emissions, potentially resolving a years-long legal battle that has tied up two previous presidential administrations.
The appeal has its genesis in an Obama administration effort in 2015 to significantly reduce power sector emissions to address climate change. The Supreme Court blocked those regulations from taking effect and President Donald Trump’s administration repealed the rules in 2017, easing the requirements on the plants.
"Nobody contests that these issues have enormous importance,” the North American Coal Corporation told the court in a brief earlier this year. “What must be resolved as soon as possible is

The Food and Drug Administration on Friday authorized Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use in children ages five to eleven.
Pending CDC approval, children could start receiving the shots as soon as Wednesday, according to the New York Times.
Children will receive one-third of the adult dose, with two injections three weeks apart.
The authorization, which makes some 28 million children eligible to receive the shots, comes several days after a key FDA advisory committee voted 17-0, with one abstention, in favor of recommending the vaccine.
The panel concluded that the benefits of vaccination outweigh its risks

A Washington, D.C., district court judge barred the Biden administration from firing unvaccinated federal employees Thursday, siding with plaintiffs who claimed that their employer’s refusal to allow a religious exemption to the vaccine mandate would result in irreparable harm.
District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly issued a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction prohibiting the firing of both civilian and active-duty military federal employees while their religious exemption pleas are pending.
“None of the civilian employee plaintiffs will be subject to discipline while his or her request for a religious exception is pending,” Kollar-Kotelly wrote in her order obtained by Fox News. She also specified that “active duty military plaintiffs,

An investigation is underway in Loudoun County by the sheriff’s office after multiple reported incidents of a male student touching other students inappropriately at a district middle school.

There’s been a major shift when it comes to the governor’s race in Virginia over the past two weeks.
As we reported earlier, now the Real Clear Politics average of polls is showing Youngkin ahead of Terry McAuliffe for the first time just a few short days before the election.
That’s in part due to a stunning Fox poll which shows Youngkin up over McAuliffe by eight percent. As Fox notes, that’s basically a complete reversal of the race from two weeks ago. It was 51-46% with McAuliffe up two weeks ago. Now, however, it’s Youngkin up, 53-45% among likely voters.
That’s a stunning move within two weeks

Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling announced today the results of an investigation into election law problems in Racine County and Wisconsin.
“Election statute was in fact not just broken, but shattered by members of the Wisconsin Elections Commission,” Schmaling said.
Schmaling and Sgt. Michael Luell, who led the investigation, said that they determined that eight people were living at the Ridgewood Care Center who had diminished capacity and who couldn’t even recognize family members at the Ridgewood Care Center had nonetheless voted by mail-in ballots. The investigation began on the complaint of one woman who said her mother voted despite not even being able to recognize her and beginning to hallucinate.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) again delayed a vote on the $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill on Thursday after progressives refused to support the measure amid a political stalemate over the party’s larger reconciliation bill.
The delay came after President Biden revealed a new, pared-down framework for his social spending package on Thursday. The initial proposal for the reconciliation bill was estimated to cost $3.5 trillion but has since been reduced to $1.75 trillion.
Progressives are demanding to see the final reconciliation bill text before agreeing to support the bipartisan infrastructure bill, dealing a massive blow to President Biden, who had hoped to score a policy win

Earlier this morning as RedState reported, the White House took a victory lap, claiming that they had agreed to a framework on the “build back better” bill. The insinuation was that all Democrats were on board, including Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema.
I was immediately skeptical, though. If there was a deal, why weren’t the two moderates who have all the leverage rushing out to endorse it? Sure enough, it appears that there is no actual deal yet. Manchin stepped in this afternoon to dump cold water on Pelosi’s blitzing attempt to get both bills passed today. There are a couple of issues here that will have to be resolved

Akash Mehta of the New York Focus reported on Thursday afternoon that Andrew Cuomo, the former governor of New York, had been charged with forcible touching, with NBC News and the New York Post later confirming the same.
Mehta claimed to have been told as much by a clerk with the Albany Criminal Court. Reached for comment, another clerk for court declined to confirm the same, telling National Review to “call back tomorrow” for confirmation. Mehta also noted that “a secretary at the Albany County Sheriff’s office said he was unaware
