Check your privilege, especially if you used your right hand to open this article. That's according to a presentation at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill that has gone viral. Using one's right hand as the primary mode of grappling objects "makes life easier" and gives one more "opportunity" and "advantage," according to the presentation. It also said being right-handed apparently makes one have a sounder "sense of belonging" in the world. The lecture took place Monday, Newsweek reported . Will we need to tear down all statues of right handed people and put up statues of left handed people to assure left handed equity? If leftys are 20% of the population will we now need a left handed quota? What about left handed minorities? Should they get reparations immediately due to the discrimination they've had to endure?

Well, I don't know about this. If any of you have a Roku or Roku TV you will notice the remote, it is very awkward to use with your right hand, you are constantly hitting the mute or volume buttons. It was made for a left hander! Obviously Roku thought deeply about right handed privilege and thought to do something about it,lol.

Our family of 7 (5 kids, 2 adults) produced 4 southpaws. My mother was one, and then three of the five children. I am one of the three. I struggle to even hold a pencil correctly with my right hand as it tends to fly out on its own. And if I try to write with it, my brain short-circuits and I don't know how to make my letters. The only way I know how to write legibly with my right hand is to write backwards, aka mirror-writing. I can write with both hands at a time doing this, with even my signature looking identical backwards. I have trained myself, out of necessity to use scissors with my right hand, but that's about it. Finally, if the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body and the right side controls the left, then only left handed people are in their right minds!! ;)

OK, true that only 10% of people are lefthanded, and of that "10%" only 10% are female. We had a Library near our house and once the conversation about lefties came up while checking out books... of the 6 female librarians in that place ALL were lefties! That should be a record of sorts, and might say something about the wiring of the brain. What is truly rare are truly ambidextrous (ambidextral) people. They constitute less than 1% of the population. (( https://www.rd.com/list/facts-ambidextrous-people/ )) In full disclosure, I'm left-handed writing and throwing a baseball, but I bat and play golf right-handed. Perhaps a bit of "ambi," not sure.

In advanced handgun training, and in some competitions, shooting "weak handed" was taught, and required for parts of the competition. Initially, I was concerned about being able to even hold on to the gun safely with "the wrong hand", not even considering the issues of aiming and precisely squeezing the trigger quickly and repeatedly under timed competitive pressure. 40 years later.....I still am not nearly as quick and accurate with my non-dominant hand, but I have zero doubt that if my dominant hand or arm was disabled or occupied holding a child or something, that I could do well defending myself. You can train yourself to use your 'weak hand' well, but it is scary/humorous at first. It's a useful skill that I teach to all my mid level and advanced handgun students.

poster #12, that's true about athletes also. Poster #19, same here. I'm left-handed and 3 of our five children are also. You can buy scissors for left-handed people. It's fun to watch the right handed use them and complain. Payback time. Poster #20, I also bat right-handed but throw left-handed. My dad had a hard time finding the right baseball glove for me way back in 1960 when I started playing soft ball in 7th grade. I still have it. I think the reason I bat right handed is when we used to play in the street when we were little, all the other kids picked the bat up with their right hand and batted that way so I just followed suit. I was a lousy batter, though I was a great outfielder.

The four-page document begins by identifying “gender equity” as a “moral and strategic imperative.” Thanks to COVID-19, “we are at an inflection point,” the statement reads, as the pandemic has “magnified the challenges” that women and girls face — “especially

Evil is a very strong word, when used properly. Merriam-Webster defines it many ways, the most relevant to what I’m talking about being “morally reprehensible” and “arising from actual or imputed bad character or conduct.” That is the modern left, the “progressive movement,” the “Democratic” Party. And to fight evil, to stop it, is the most important thing anyone can do.What justifies the use of “evil” as a descriptor? It’s a dangerous word to use, one that has been abused throughout history to demonize innocent people as well as condemn the guilty. But there is no other word for what these people are doing, both in tactic and objective.
