Anti-carbon Democrats don’t learn: They continue to push to close pipelines and power plants while ignoring the dire consequences, now on display across Europe.
On Thursday, more than 40 New York officials, including likely next mayor Eric Adams, demanded Gov. Kathy Hochul nix permits for a natural-gas plant to replace two in Brooklyn. The facility would “undermine” New York’s “aggressive renewable energy goals,” their letter says.
“Aggressive”? What an understatement: A 2019 law calls for 70 percent of renewable power by 2030, a goal that could cripple the state. And it came amid a years-long crusade by ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo to oppose gas pipelines,

"Green energy" = freezing in the dark.
It's just that simple.

Like my first wife, anti-carbon lefties, like any other lefties, will never be happy, period. In fact, I can credibly argue that suffering is the only thing that makes them "happy."

I'm assuming the 30% non-renewable energy, i.e. fossil generated energy, will be set aside for our political betters, their private planes, cars, yachts and air conditioning/heating needs.

#2: But not if it's their own suffering. Right Al Gore?

Much of NY's power comes from Niagara, but the power generation is on the Canadians side...and when they decide that if the US will not honor contracts? Neither will we. NY goes dark.
We had a Gas Lease on our NY Land, covered the taxes even though they never drilled. NY outlawed new wells...lease was not renewed, meanwhile The Marcellas Shale play made Billions for Pennsylvania, hired and trained 100,000 people for new careers., The Marcy Line carrying power from Niagara also passes through our land, they now want to run a second line, but rather than use the same poles, they want another 150ft easement.
Meanwhile...I worked for several months on a "Clean Energy" high efficiency Gas plant in Ohio, we could see 4 other powerplants from the site, three of them Nukes. This NEW plant was using gas from Penna. then shipping the power east to replace 3 closed plants in Connecticut and Maryland.
If they had allowed gas drilling on our land, a single rig site could have directional drilled a half mile in every direction, including under the neighboring state forest where the state would have reaped royalties...we were the only occupied land for more than a mile in any direction, no one would have ever even seen the drill site from any paved road. My neighbors were all willing to welcome a drill site, and grant easements for a production pipeline as needed(to connect to an existing gas line the next valley east)
I used to be a Drilling Fluids engineer in Texas and Oklahoma. I was willing to set up an "Educational" program on our farm that people could visit and learn just how clean today's drilling methods are, have water sampling stations in the 2 trout streams, and monitoring the numerous natural springs dotting our 300acres. Once active drilling was completed the rig would be gone and the remaining production head would only occupy 1/2 acre. Part of my lease agreement was..."Free Gas" from the production head whether a pipeline was ever connected or not. My neighbors and I could have bought or leased a Shipping Container sized Gas power generating plant and generated enough "Free" power for nearly 1/2 of the county via a co-op arrangement...under the mandatory Power Buying rules the state implemented for those generating power from Wind/solar, all of our excess would have HAD to be purchased by the local Utility conglomerate. It could/would have more than doubled the monies available to the local school district, created jobs, lowered taxes, allowed multi-generational family farms to keep their lands rather than being forced by "No Jobs/High Taxes" to sell them off to downstate vacation home buyers and investment brokers..
In January we finally gave up...sold the Farm that had been in the family for over 200years. The New Owner? An Executive for Royal Bank of Canada, that lives in Greenwich Village, he has no plans to even use the house...is trying to market some sort of Carbon Offset scheme to make the "Farm" pay.

Thanks for sharing, #5.
More of the Dem's "bad luck", clearly.
What a sad horror show they are, destroying everything, and things that many never even knew were just in our grip when snatched away, as you explained.

Don't let them call non-combustion powered EVs. Let's rebrand them as CPVs--Coal Powered Vehicles, probably too honest for EV proponents.
