It seems that the Chinese economy is falling, and there may be no one to bail them out. In a wave of recent reports, we see the contraction of the national economy, especially intense in the north. There have been blackouts and power failures across the area, and while the problems began in factories they have now spread to homes, a trend that is forecast to spread as time passes.
The most alarming case is that of the real estate colossus Evergrande, whose debt is so large that default is a real possibility, and thereafter a rash of defaults across the world. Evergrande is a global threat, menacing a worldwide outburst

A collapsing China can become a dangerous thrashing wounded animal. Not a good thing for anyone.

A true communist regime only fails officially when the people put their leaders heads on pikes. China will simply continue to manipulate its currencies to stay afloat. They don't play by the same rules as actual capitalistic societies, despite their appearance at being a market player.

I disagree #1 a failing China is good in the long run, their neighbors are just waiting for a chance to subjugate the paper thin chinese army (because of the one child program) - they wouldn't dare use nuclear weapons.
I'd like to see them fail and quickly and millions of Chinese hit the streets for change again. Plus China Joe losses his best ally. If china fails I believe the fraud in the 2020 elections will become a bright light.

China can "Repair/Restore" it's entire economy in a single week, just institute a "Great Reset". As a centrally controlled command economy ALL they need to do is order a dumping of all stocks and assets, all on the same day. 1st they will reap some immediate cash, but...the entire global market and economies will crash, EVERY country and every bank, investor, hedgefund, pension manager will need to dump assets to cover, driving prices even lower....China can buy it all up at dimes on the Dollar.
Since they do not CARE about any other nation than China, and have 100% Govt control over every aspect of every individual that lives there...they do not need to worry about what ANYONE thinks or says about them. They are truly totalitarian Communists, and they do not give a Rip what happens to Capitalists, they will use any and everything to "Win".
They do not need to become "Stronger" if instead they can weaken/cripple everyone else. They can and will fight "Total War", because they know western Nations will not, and because they know western nations will eat themselves up from within in times of economic stress/trouble, while their own people have no means to do so and are already 100% dependent upon the Govt for everything, including any form of information..

Interesting article. One way to stay updated and informed on what is going on in China is to read The Epoch Times(a shameless plug). They truly do have the best info about the party and country.
BTW...what do these two sentences in the middle of this article have to do with anything?
FTA...'Over the past 20 years, more than 20 percent of the French Jewish population has left France, with a notable increase of those emigres going to Israel. The French are not happy with public education in their home country, and much prefer Israeli methods.'

Sorry, folks, this is China getting ready for war.
The CCP leaders dont give a damn for their people or their economy, so long as they have fuel and supplies for their military. This is because they need to take or break Taiwan, before Biden is removed.
Let's Go Brandon!!!

A wounded Panda becomes a Dragon. Xi is dangerous and will do anything to save his skin. Taiwan is in Xi's sights. Surrender Joe is bought and paid for, so he won't do anything to protect Taiwan.

"[A] mass of citizens who see their role as supporting and following the state" is the very definition of fascism, which isn't geopolitically much different from communism. They may well have overreached.
Taiwan knows better than to trust Zho Beijing to honor our alliance. (Has anyone figured out what the Taiwan Agreement is?)
Let's go, Brandon!

What a disjointed article...from the "failing" Chinese economy to Evergrande to French Jews to Taiwan...what?
Of course the export-dependent Chinese economy is in deep trouble. Whether this is some "grand plan" to bring the West to its knees, the Chinese must've known they were destroying their customers ability to buy. And without sales the Chinese have a problem...and they can't fix it. China depends on Western prosperity.
Anyone invested in Chinese real estate is gambling. Visitors to Chinese cities are quickly cognizant of huge blocks of buildings with apartments that are completely empty. Construction makes for a great labor sponge. Those not in military or other state service can be put to work and on a payroll - and out of mischief. Like with America's "infrastructure" plans, there are financial and material limitations that politicians prefer to ignore. Make work programs are very popular. Now, how are costs recovered? Evergrande apparently cannot find enough "greater fools" to buy their tulips.
The commerical rules in China were very clear: Make your money, and keep your mouth and pocketbook out of politics. Jack Ma got the memo, and it appears the rules are getting tighter as China works to avoid a Zuckerberg or Soros situation - any influence is too much influence. It may become that attempts to influence will be seen as treasonous to the Peoples Republic.
Taiwan is a domestic whipping boy. When times get tough, the Chinese leadership starts threatening Taiwan to distract the masses. The Chinese understand the political value of shiny objects, too. They're not going to destroy a key trading partner. To what end? It would be like the US attacking NoKor...

What's with the off-the-wall comment about French Jews emigrating to Israel?? It seems to have nothing to do with the rest of the article. What's up, Ledeen?

When daily life for your population becomes ever more miserable how do you distract them? Start a war.

Lethally incompetent Red China is a menace to the world in more ways than one. Indeed, a collapsing Red China would still be a menace to the world.
