Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley said on Friday he is running for reelection in 2022, announcing plans to hold a series of public events over the weekend to spearhead his pursuit for an eighth term in the Senate.
Grassley, 88, made his reelection announcement in a Twitter post after months of speculation of whether or not he would seek an additional term as Republicans seek to maintain hold of his coveted post.

This is ridiculous. 88 years old and he’s running for re-election? No.

He’s running to fatten the family bank account. At 88 his cognition is degraded and he’s doing what he is told. Seriously Iowa, aren’t there some promising young Republicans in your state? These dinosaurs trying to hold onto their seats until death are absurd. This is not what the founders had in mind.

Good Lord, Iowa! Is there not anyone else that is genuine, really "for the people" in Iowa to run as a genuine Republican for the Senate? Like so many, this man has made a career in the Senate . . . not necessarily a good thing. For the most part from what I know, Grassley is a good man, but his time has come and gone. IMHO of course!

Conservatives in Iowa can’t be surprised that Grassley is running and if they don’t see what’s happening to our country then they’re fools. Now we have Cloward and Piven in all it’s hideous glory taking shark bites out of our Constitution. If that isn’t enough to arouse Conservatives in a traditionally conservative state so that they run someone who can beat Grassley and any Democrat then, whether we all deserve it or not, Obama’s promise to fundamentally transform America will be a lot closer to realization.
Where are our men?

What is it about power - - that's so intoxicating to these people?
Regular, decent people - - like us - - have no desire to control anyone else's life - - but these "public servants" live for nothing else. There must be some sort of evil seed in the human character - - which brings out the worst in these power-hungry lunatics.

While he is an extraordinary man, I am surprised. They all love him on the hill, but for me, the entire biofuel debacle is awful. Biofuels cause increased cases of heart disease, respiratory symptoms, asthma, chronic bronchitis or premature death. And now Grassley Reintroduced Legislation To Expand Market For Biofuels Year-Round. https://www.grassley.senate.gov/news/news-releases/grassley-bipartisan-group-reintroduce-legislation-to-expand-market-for-biofuels-year-round

You go Chuck! you have more courage. insight and genuine concern for America than any of your Democrat peers; we need you in the Senate.
How could anyone criticize Grassley's cognitive abilities without decrying Biden's incapacity to hold office?

We don't remember hearing his name fighting for We The People or fighting against the Swamp or for Trump supporters in Jail! Why is he in office? For himself? We need a fighter for Americans against Communists in our govt., not a go along to get along Grassley.

Dem or Repub, I think these dinosaurs hang on until death because its in their contract with China. They not only have sold their souls to the devil, they have sold their earthly lives to the Chinese. They represent a huge investment and I don't think China shares our concept of retirement. These dirty pols are a highly expensive commodity and China will ride them until they die in their traces.

Reminiscent of all those hundred year old Chinese Communist Party people being pushed around in wheel chairs. They got the job for life.
Why does Grassley keep on winning? Because he sucks all the money out of the Iowa election process so nobody else ever stands a chance against him.
What are the odds when he finally does step down, he will be replaced by a Democrat?

Well glory be. Another 6 years for a damn dinosaur in the Senate. Grassley would be 94 at the end of his next term. 41 years in the Senate. Is there no one younger that can represent Iowa?
