Secretary of State Antony Blinken was reportedly vacationing in the Hamptons just hours before Kabul fell to the Taliban, despite warnings that the city was at risk. Blinken was one of several top-level Biden administration officials to have gone on vacation the Friday before the Afghan capitol was taken by the group on August 15. President Joe Biden himself was also on a trip away, and had arrived at the presidential retreat at Camp David that day. Blinken was already on vacation, according to a timeline of the events leading up to Kabul's capture compiled by the Washington Post. The officials appeared to not be overly concerned

The chaos in Afghanistan could have reportedly been avoided altogether if President Joe Biden had accepted the Taliban’s initial offer for the U.S. to have full control of Kabul and the airport.According to a report from the Washington Post, as the Taliban began taking control of Afghanistan, senior U.S. military leaders met with Taliban political leader Abdul Ghani Baradar in Doha, Qatar, where an offer was made for the United States to have control of Kabul until all U.S. troops had withdrawn; the offer was declined. Around a million people are without power in southern Mississippi and Louisiana as Hurricane Ida tore through the region on Sunday, knocking out electricity to all of New Orleans while whipping up sustained winds of more than 150mph and tearing the roof off buildings.Authorities late Sunday announced the first death as a Louisiana resident, a 60-year-old man, died from a fallen tree in Ascension Parish - even as the storm was downgraded to a Category 2 hurricane. Washington -Republican Sen. Mitt Romney said Sunday that if American citizens and Afghan allies are left in Afghanistan following the planned withdrawal of US troops there this week that would represent "a moral stain" on the US. "Leaving Americans behind and leaving our Afghan friends behind who've worked with us would put upon us and will put upon us a moral stain," the Utah Republican told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union" when asked if US troops should remain in the country following Tuesday's withdrawal deadline to ensure that all US citizens, legal permanent residents and Afghan allies are evacuated.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to the White House on Monday will complete a circle of politics and intrigue spanning three U.S. administrations. President Biden has put Ukrainian corruption near the top of the agenda when he sits down in the Oval Office with Mr. Zelenskyy. It’s the same issue that has imbued both Washington’s and Mr. Biden’s relationship with the Eastern European country for nearly a decade.
Mr. Zelenskyy, a comedian, actor and political neophyte who was elected Ukraine’s president in 2019, wasn’t always at the center of the U.S.-Ukraine circle. But when he was, it was a doozy.(Snip)Documents found on Hunter Biden’s laptop

If you're over 50, you might remember occasionally seeing small children throw temper tantrums in public, 25 or 30 years ago, and wondering what those kids would be like when they grew up.
Well, now you know.
The problem is twofold. First, we Baby Boomers raised a generation of selfish, entitled brats. (I do not include my own children in that description, and if that seems hypocritical and self-serving — well, you don't know my kids.)
Second, in their entitled brattiness, an alarming percentage of that generation — the Millennials — has embraced socialism.

CNN’s “fact-checker” rushed to the rescue Saturday after Twitter users began speculating that President Joe Biden had “fallen asleep” during his Oval Office meeting a day earlier with newly appointed Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett.
For the majority of the 13-minute meeting Friday, the president was fairly lively — or, rather, as lively as a 78-year-old man suspected of having dementia can be.
Near the tail end of the meeting, however, he began acting suspiciously by allowing his head to droop so that it was pointing down as if he was dozing off.

One of the things that certainly has been surprising about the Afghanistan debacle has been that some in media seem to have woken up and become journalists again. They are now questioning Joe Biden and his team, and raising very pointed and good questions, even being honest about the mess that he has caused.
There’s a very big piece of news from the Washington Post that hasn’t gotten any real attention as yet, but it really should — because it explains how we could have completely avoided this whole catastrophe, but for a very bad decision by the Biden team.

Four EPA whistleblowers and industry watchdogs say a revolving door between the agency and chemical companies is to blame, and that the program’s management has been “captured by industry”. The charges are supported by emails, documents and additional records that were provided to the Guardian.

As I've watched the events of the past few weeks – and thought about the nature of Joe Biden’s young presidency – I began to ask myself: How much more of this can we take? In just seven months, President Biden has overseen a remarkable number of complete blunders. To make sense of them all and consider how to overcome them, I decided to make a list of them.
Of course, it would take months of time and writing to list all the errors Biden has made in his 48 years in politics, so I decided to start at his inauguration in January.

Speaking to the virtual Jackson Hole conference of the Federal Reserve System, Fed Chair Jerome Powell says that inflation will go away soon. He sees “…upward inflation pressure dissipating and, in some cases, reversing …. As supply problems have begun to resolve, inflation in durable goods other than autos has now slowed and may be starting to fall. It seems unlikely that durables inflation will continue to contribute importantly over time to overall inflation.”

A rocket has hit a neighbourhood north-west of Kabul airport and killed a child just hours after US officials warned of the possibility of another jihadist atrocity following an ISIS-K suicide bombing which massacred 13 US troops, scores of Afghan civilians and two Britons.A security official from the recently deposed US-backed government told AFP that a rocket struck a house in what is thought to be the Khajeh Baghra area near Hamid Karzai International Airport, where desperate Afghans are currently attempting to flee Taliban rule. A source at the Afghan Ministry of Health separately told the BBC that the blast was near the airport,

A former FBI special agent who tracked counterterrorism cases warned terrorists in Afghanistan stand a high chance of being able to walk right onto U.S.-bound planes as a result of the Biden administration's dissemination of blank visa papers throughout the country. “The threat of having Islamic State or al Qaeda come into the country is not increased through the southwest border,” said Kenneth Gray, a senior lecturer in the Fire Science and Emergency Management Department at the University of New Haven in Connecticut.

While the Biden team continues to praise itself as the hero in the Afghanistan pullout, the anger of parents of the 13 slain U.S. service members tells another story.
Kathy McCollum, mother of 20-year-old Lance Cpl. Rylee McCollum, called into the “Wilkow Majority” show on SiriusXM Patriot radio where revealed that she had just been notified at her home that her son was killed in the bombing that claimed the lives of at least 13 U.S. soldiers.

The best-case scenario under Joe Biden’s Afghanistan plan was the United States running away from Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble fast enough to avoid offending troglodytes who pass the time waiting till they find a 12-year-old girl to marry by sexually violating even younger boys. Let that sink in. Now there are 13 Americans dead among 170 slaughtered by terrorists. But at least there are no mean tweets, right? Unfortunately, there aren’t any coherent actions or words either. Joe Biden has blood on his hands he can’t ever wash off.

No. There never has. No previous president in US history has been as willing to sacrifice America, American lives, and American power and standing in the world solely for political purposes. Are his traitorous actions purely political? Perhaps his motives are personal as well.
Biden has been selling his soul for money for decades; to China, to Ukraine, to Pakistan. How else can he explain his massive wealth and multiple mansions on a salary of $174k? He cannot. See Peter Schweitzer’s book Profiles in Corruption. Chapter 3 is about Joe Biden:

This week we were treated to a bloody horror show at Kabul Airport and a preposterous performance (a full day late) by a President who claimed responsibility and then quickly proceeded to shun it, blaming everyone else . As commander in chief, he was responsible for the disastrous consequences of the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan by a plan only an idiot would have conceived or endorsed. What followed were continued lies from the Department of State, General Mark Milley, and probably the Department of Defense. Only individual Americans stood fast to preserve our tattered honor.

Vice President Kamala Harris’s team canceled press access to her remarks to US troops at Pearl Harbor on Thursday — surely because it feared yet another disaster for the veep at the site of a terrible attack on America, the same day as the horrors in Kabul.Harris is just too prone to verbal fumbles that pour more fuel on the Biden administration’s fires.Just the week before, Harris broke into a bizarre cackle when reporters asked about the early stages of the Afghan crisis. And that’s hardly her only nails-on-chalkboard moment. For example, when NBC’s Lester Holt called her out for failing to go to the US-Mexico border

When Joe Biden declared Kamala Harris his running mate in the 2020 election, it perplexed many among his allies and detractors.
Why on earth did Joe opt for a relatively youthful individual who makes him look even older than he is in contrast?
What caused Joe to choose somebody who lambasted him during the primaries and accused him of racism? (snip) The fact that Joe kept referring to his government as the Harris Biden administration and on some occasions called her President Harris further fuelled conspiracies
It, therefore, wasn’t a matter of if but when Kamala Harris replaced Joe Biden.

Lieutenant Colonel Stuart Scheller was fired for speaking the truth about the fact that the top brass in the Pentagon never pay for their bad decisions, even as the ordinary men and women get no quarter for their errors. As soon as he’s free, Scheller intends to change that two-tiered system. As Joe Biden fubars his way through the Afghanistan evacuation, mumbling through press briefings like a drunken stroke victim, leftists are trying ever more desperately to steer America’s attention to something other than Biden wetting himself at the presidential podium. Invariably, that “something else” is January 6.
Pelosi found a BLM-loving Capitol cop who was willing to testify about January 6 and squirt tears when recalling how Trumpsters “called him racists names.”
A few weeks later, bootlicker Lester Holt gave a softball interview to Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd, who vaingloriously claimed he “saved countless lives” when he fired his gun through a barricaded door and killed an unarmed mom, Ashli Babbitt.

On Thursday, the Virginia Department of Education published a video entitled, “Culturally Responsive and Inclusive 9/11 Commemoration,” detailing how Virginia public school teachers should handle the upcoming twentieth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 jihad terror attacks that killed nearly 3,000 Americans. The emphasis on that day and thereafter must not be on the ideology of the attackers or the ongoing jihad terror threat; rather, the focus is entirely on acknowledging and eradicating what the video calls “anti-Muslim racism.”
The video is narrated by a hijab-wearing woman, Amaarah DeCuir, who describes herself as “Professorial Lecturer, School of Education, American University & Paragon Education Consulting, President.”

The public school system in America is in crisis — the worst crisis since the forced bussing and integration issues of the 1970s.
Simply put, parents and students have lost faith in the school system to educate. They doubt whether the schools have the best interests of their students at heart. This poisonous doubt is having a tangible effect on enrollment. Despite the fact that public education is free, parents are sending their children to private schools with more reliable, more predictable policies.
Enrollment in public schools nationwide declined by 3 percent last year. But it was the numbers for kindergarten enrollment

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden on Saturday warned that another attack on the Kabul airport was "highly likely" and promised to issue a second retaliatory strike against the terrorists responsible for Thursday's suicide bombing.
"The situation on the ground continues to be extremely dangerous, and the threat of terrorist attacks on the airport remains high," Biden said in a statement. "Our commanders informed me that an attack is highly likely in the next 24-36 hours."
Saturday evening the U.S. Embassy in Kabul said all Americans in the vicinity of the airport should leave immediately.

The United States used a relatively new gruesome, but effective kind of missile for its first retaliatory strike after the suicide bombings at the Kabul airport.
The Wall Street Journal:
Washington—The Pentagon used a special Hellfire missile that packs no explosives to strike Islamic State militants in Afghanistan on Saturday in retaliation for a suicide bomb attack at the Kabul airport last week, according to two U.S. officials.
The airstrike, carried out by a Reaper drone flown from the Persian Gulf region, killed two militants associated with the Afghanistan offshoot of the Islamic State extremist group, and injured a third individual.

Reports trickled in throughout Saturday that American citizens in Afghanistan were being blocked by U.S. military and government officials from entering Kabul airport so they could escape the (thanks to Biden) terrorist controlled nation. Several reports also said Americans are being beaten by Taliban terrorists at the airport. The reports reached a crescendo Saturday night with two Texas Republican Congressmen and military veterans, Dan Crenshaw and Ronny Jackson angrily calling out Joe Biden.
Crenshaw, “America, you need to know this: Biden is not letting US citizens through the airport gates. It has been impossible to get anyone through for the last 24 hours.
