Prosecutors in the cases against the January 6 demonstrators are starting to run into some judicial pushback: Questions about exculpatory evidence in their possession not turned over as the law demands, lower courts assessing the defendant as more dangerous than the evidence warranted, and most significantly, whether the prosecution is overcharging defendants with the federal crime of obstruction.
Most of the defendants are charged with knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted area -- a fancy way of saying trespassing. Defendants are entitled to see before pleading to the charges any materially exculpatory evidence

These poor slobs are now political prisoners. They should all have been fined and released months ago. Democrats and the Media are using them to get back at Trump.

As they take a pass on the serious charges of insurrection and ponder lesser charges, I'd like to ask them to ponder why they are still holding potential trespassers behind bars as though serious charges were still in play.
FTA: "“In our view, those who actually assaulted police officers and broke through windows, doors, and barricades, and those who aided, conspired with, planned, or coordinated such actions, are in a different category of dangerousness than those who cheered on the violence or entered the Capitol after others cleared the way,”-----Wilkins, joined by Judge Judith Rogers, wrote.
Bingo! There were two distinct events taking place, a Trump rally and a staged break in designed to entrap Trump supporters.
On one level we have begun to awaken but there's one thing we are still naively reluctant to accept; the absolute ruthlessness of the left. The 1/6 ginned up "insurrection" was one of the most predictable events since the the Bears won the superbowl.
Yet we walked right in. Our American leftist elites are the villains of the past, or what we thought was the past. No, we have not advanced or evolved as a species into something incapable of repeating the worst of our past. We simply lived for a while under a system that protected decent common people from the scoundrels. Now that that system has been dismantled brick by brick, the evil bass-terds are in a position do do as they have always done, manipulate sacrifice and enslave their fellow man.
And we remain trapped into arguing over which despot should run the mob rather than uniting against the mob and its tyranicakl domination. They have us right where they want us. Reagan and Trump remain the only short term detours on the long road to our destruction in my lifetime. Perhaps I slighted Eisenhower, that warning about the military industrial complex was spot on.

The whole event seems like a set up to make sure that President Trump does not run for re-election.

Have any of Nancy and Joe's political prisoners actually been released from the DC gulag since these court decisions?
I'm thinking that the Department of Injustice folks are trying to find a way to keep them in jail until 2024 if Trump decides to run for a second term and run show trials all year long.

The threat to democracy was so great that all involved have to be kept in solitary confinement, without trial, without charges, without lawyers, without visits, FOREVER. The Democratic United States, a union of socialist states, must endure.
Really. You do not know what danger a selfie poses. You do not know how treacherous it is to claim Article 3 of the Bill of Rights. Rights do not apply to Murderous Insurrectionists, especially if they have no weapons and do not try to overthrow anything.
Really. Get your head straight.

All well and good...and the message has been sent and received. Make trouble we don't like and the DOJ will overcharge while the courts toss you into a cell pending a long line of appeals. And if one wins release in appeal, the charges remain pending, albeit they may be reduced into multiple minor charges. You're better off torching your local Federal courthouse or a high tone department store in a downtown near you.

This is political retribution, plain and simple. The Fed Law enforcement are licking the DemoNazi's jack boots and the Judges think that is just fine.

All this for trespassing. The vehicular equivalent would be parking in a "No Parking" zone.
And they've been in jail now for 7 months.
And BLM / Antifa arsonists, thieves, and killers are breezing around free.
Insurrection my butt. I've seen bigger bar fights.

Regarding the obstruction charges, the building was cleared earlier in the day due to authorities finding bombs in the DC area. If there was no session in progress, what was being obstructed?

#5, I think it is about Trump, but moreso, it is about US - the supporters of Trump. It sends the message that if you stand up against their election stealing and tyranny, you too could be thrown in jail and left to rot. Remember Fauxbama's modus operandi - eliminate all opposition.

The "activists" are the DOJ attorneys who have illegally imprisoned those who are languishing in jail for simple misdemeanor trespassing charges. The lot of them should be charged with obstruction of justice and fired. The DOJ is a leftist viper pit.

The last line is telling.
FTA:
"I think Judge Moss might have, as I did, recalled the recent Kavanaugh hearings and their disruption when he asked the government whether it could cite any other cases in which the government charged comparable conduct. The department could not. "
Yes. Leftist crazies doing FAR more than these people did have never been charged with ANYTHING.
