After a little more than six months in her current role, potential 2024 presidential candidate Kamala Harris has become one of the least popular vice presidents since the 1970’s.
The Telegraph reported over the weekend that “two recent polls both showed 46 percent of Americans approved of Harris, with 47 percent and 48 percent disapproving.”
According to Gallup, the Telegraph noted, 42.1 percent approved of former Vice President Mike Pence’s performance at the same point in his term while 41.9 percent disapproved.
“The previous vice president — Biden — had an approval rating above 50 percent after six months. Before that Dick Cheney, and Al Gore, were in the 60s

If the United States Senate votes this week on the bipartisan so-called “infrastructure” bill, it would be humanly impossible for any U.S. senator to read it before voting on it.
The text of a draft of the bill, obtained exclusively by Breitbart News from U.S. Senate sources not authorized to leak it, shows the plan is 2,701 pages long.
The text, which Breitbart News is publishing here so the public can see what Congress is doing in secret, shows the plan is far more sprawling and expansive than GOP senators, who backed advancing it without text even existing, led their constituents to believe. Sources familiar

During an interview that aired Sunday on New York WABC 770 AM radio’s “The Cats Roundtable,” former Bill Clinton adviser Dick Morris weighed in President Joe Biden’s polling numbers.
After noting to host John Catsimatidis that Biden’s approval ratings are “dropping precipitously,” Morris placed the blame at the feet of the coronavirus’ Delta variant, which has case numbers rising across the country. He argued Biden ran as a single-issue candidate on COVID and is failing at it.
“It’s becoming very clear that Biden‘s ratings are in serious trouble,” Morris outlined. “According to Gallup, between May and July, he dropped six points

Something interesting has happened on the Wuhan virus front over the past few days. The Biden bunch have changed their tune about media coverage. Once the media were loyal little catchfarts and stenographers pushing whatever narrative the Biden White House wanted to put out between sessions of Biden eating boogers. Somehow they became part of the problem, being needlessly alarmist about the Wuhan virus.
A couple of days ago, the New York Times ran this story, C.D.C. Internal Report Calls Delta Variant as Contagious as Chickenpox.
The Delta variant is much more contagious, more likely to break through protections afforded by the vaccines and may cause more severe disease

Over the weekend, the American public finally learned that the vaccinated were being forced to wear masks again because of a massive outlier in Massachusetts where vaccinated people at a beach gathering had a high viral load in their nasal pharynx. And when press on the data during an appearance on CBS’s Face the Nation on Sunday, Dr. Anthony Fauci claimed that viral load meant the vaccinated were spreading it at the same rate as the unvaccinated. But Fauci would be later proven wrong by a high-ranking Israeli public health official and a former FDA commissioner.
CBS moderator John Dickerson began by asking Fauci what new understanding

David Goldman (also known as “Spengler”) summarizes with approval the analysis of Chinese professor Jin Canrong. The professor’s thesis is this:
[T]he United States has issued a massive amount of excess currency due to the epidemic, and the amount of currency issuance far exceeds the normal needs of economic development, so there is a situation in which more currency is issued but production cannot be restored. Inflation in the United States is rising, which will put a lot of pressure on the U.S. finances. The U.S. federal debt is approaching $30 trillion. What does this imply?

A 7-year-old boy hailed as a hero last year when he risked his life to protect his younger sister from a brutal dog attack is “proud” of his facial scars and doesn’t see himself as special, according to his father.
Little Bridger Walker of Cheyenne, Wyo., needed 90 stitches for the damage to his face after he jumped in front of his younger sister to save her from being attacked by a German Shepherd. He’s since undergone multiple procedures, some pro bono, since then on his facAt the time, he explained his actions by saying, “If someone had to die, I thought it should be me.”

President Joe Biden confirmed Friday that Americans should expect more coronavirus-related restrictions, as the Delta variant of the virus continues to spread.
Biden spoke about more restrictions on Americans after CBS reporter Weijia Jiang asked him if he expected more restrictions as the virus spreads across the country.
“In all probability,” he replied as he left the White House for a weekend trip to Camp David.
Biden also signaled optimism that more Americans were getting vaccinated, citing “almost a million” people getting their shots on Thursday.

You’d be forgiven for forgetting they existed, but the fugitive Texas Democrats, who fled their state to stop the passage of a mundane voting integrity bill, are still hanging out in Washington, DC. Where exactly, I’m not sure, but I like to imagine them sleeping on cots and eating ramen noodles every night while they mutter obscenities about Gov. Greg Abbott to each other. That’s when they aren’t spreading COVID to everyone, of course.
There was a sighting a few days ago in which some of them appeared with Al Sharpton at the MLK memorial. You know, because nothing stirs support in Texas like latching onto a notorious, big-city race grifter

You know you’ve screwed up badly as a spokesman when you have to walk back something stupid you said not once but twice.
Once: And twice: Karine Jean-Pierre is the heir apparent to Jen Psaki as press secretary but Biden must be nervous watching her stumble around on a subject as touchy as this one.
Imagine Dems trying to compete in the midterms after blue-state governors have ordered a new round of business closures, with all the economic and psychological wreckage that would entail, at a moment when every pharmacy chain in the country is overflowing with vaccines. Did Jean-Pierre really need an extra day

Gov. Greg Abbott (R) took executive action on Thursday, signing an order barring cities from implementing mask and vaccine requirements; this move is part of the administration’s effort to “promote statewide uniformity and certainty” in the Lone Star State’s coronavirus response.
The order states “no governmental entity, including a county, city, school district, and public health authority, and no governmental official may require any person to wear a face covering or to mandate that another person wear a face covering,” with limited exceptions.
“No governmental entity can compel any individual to receive a COVID-19 vaccine administered under an emergency use authorization,” the order continues, barring

Americans expect more inflaton this year and remain uneasy about the direction of the economy, the University of Michigan’s survey of consumers showed Friday.
Expect4ed inflation over the next year rose to 4.7 percent from 4.2 percent in June. That’s the highest level in over a decade.
At least for now, however, Americans still believe that inflation will remain tame over the long term. Expected inflation over the next five years is just 2.8 percent, down from 3 percent in May.
“While most consumers still expect inflation to be transitory, there is growing evidence that an inflation storm is likely to develop on the not too distant horizon.
