A number of countries are instituting, or proposing to institute, “vaccine passport” systems. This means, basically, that no one will be allowed to go out in public, or to enter most public places, without carrying a certificate of vaccination. Understandably, requiring everyone to have “papers” to engage in normal daily activities rubs many the wrong way. Thus, protests have broken out in several countries. It seems as if every day we see another slew of headlines about the Delta variant and “resurgence” of the virus in this or that place. In reality, even some of these surges involve a number of new positive tests that are still vastly lower than during the height of the pandemic last winter. Still, there are cities that are bringing back mask mandates and complaining loudly about the slow vaccination rates. These complaints are being picked up in the liberal media, with the vast majority of the blame being cast at a predictable group: white, Republican Trump voters.
GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy may finally be fed up with the political machinations of Liz Cheney. Today, when asked about the situation involving Cheney joining forces with Nancy Pelosi for a January 6th select committee, McCarthy said he couldn’t remember the last time he had talked to her, and called her a “Pelosi Republican.” Apparently, he was also talking about Adam Kinzinger, but honestly, who cares?
That represents another escalation between Cheney and the party she is ostensibly still a part of, and it appears clear that there’s no repairing this relationship.
Jen Psaki admitted today that they are in “active discussion” with states about the possibility of reinstating mask mandates because of the rise of the Delta variant. On top of that, she said that because of the variant, they would be keeping restrictions in place on people who want to travel into the United States, claiming there was a surge among the “unvaccinated.” That’s infuriating the Europeans who want or need to travel here, and Americans who have family there who are unable to come here.
The White House is taking that position — talking about once again restricting Americans and preventing legal travel into the United States

There’s no federal investigation into New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, however, Attorney General Tish James isn’t quite done, yet.
James could release details of her investigation into whether Cuomo sexually harassed nine women before the end of the summer, something the governor’s office seems to believe is becoming more political by the day. Cuomo senior adviser Richard Azzopardi told The New York Times last week, “the continued leaks are more evidence of the transparent political motivation of the attorney general’s review.”

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) on Sunday revealed that Texas was arresting and jailing illegal immigrants to combat the border crisis amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Abbott, highlighting that President Joe Biden and his administration’s catch and release plan in place is “opening the floodgates for people who are coming from countries where there is an extremely low vaccination rate,” told Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures” that Texas is catching and jailing illegal aliens.

They have much in common. Both are sons of very famous fathers. Neither, in all likelihood, would have become prominent but for what their fathers accomplished. That’s certainly the case with Hunter Biden.
Both are the subject of sex scandals, albeit of somewhat different sorts. Andrew Cuomo has been accused of sexual harassment by several women who worked in his administration.

What Does China Have on Dr. Fauci?

Perhaps no one has done more damage to the credibility of the scientific community over the last year and a half than Dr. Anthony Fauci. RedState has written more articles than I can count documenting his contradictions, dishonesty, and even complicity regarding COVID-19 (see here, here, and here for a sample).
Yet Fauci continues to be a super-star on the left, largely because he represented a foil to Donald Trump, but also because he’s become even more overtly political under Joe Biden’s tenure. To those who crave power, Fauci is the perfect spokesman, able to parlay faux claims of scientific authority into ever-encroaching government power.

We reported yesterday on how Joe Biden’s approval is dropping and the honeymoon appears over.
He’s at his lowest numbers now at just 50% approval and 45% disapproval. Of course, he started out with big media support so that drop is more noticeable.
But now, there are more numbers to support that concern and they have to be worrying Democrats.
After six months of Biden, sounds like people have started to figure out that it isn’t what was pitched to them and they’re not happy.
Their optimism about the direction of the country has plummeted almost 20 points since May

National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Anthony Fauci said federal health officials are considering recommending that fully vaccinated people wear masks in public again.
“This is under active consideration,” Fauci told CNN in response to a question about whether masks should be used again despite individuals’ COVID-19 vaccination status. Former California Senator Barbara Boxer was assaulted and robbed in Oakland’ Jack London Square neighborhood on Monday.
Boxer, 80, was pushed in her back and the assailant stole her cell phone then took off in a getaway car.
The former Democrat senator’s office confirmed the mugging on Monday afternoon.
