Friedrich Hayek took one of the two epigraphs for The Road to Serfdom from David Hume (the other, like Hayek’s title, came from Tocqueville). “It is seldom,” Hume wrote, “that liberty of any kind is lost all at once.” (Snip) Sometimes, I would argue, liberty is erased almost instantaneously. I’d be willing to wager that Joseph Hackett,(Snip), would express similar doubts. I would be happy to ask Hackett myself, but he is inaccessible. To my surprise, Google asserted in response that nobody had ever asked that precise question before in the history of the internet.
Today, Google lists my blog post asking that question, but only after announcing:

Arizona Senator Michelle Ugenti-Rita was one of two republicans who voted with Democrats to kill SB1241, an Arizona senate bill to reform election integrity. Senator Ugenti was scheduled to speak to the audience at Turning Point USA today; however, when she attempted to give her speech, the audience absolutely destroyed her with boos and jeers.

Former California Senator Barbara Boxer was assaulted and robbed in Oakland’ Jack London Square neighborhood on Monday.
Boxer, 80, was pushed in her back and the assailant stole her cell phone then took off in a getaway car.
