Famed Borscht Belt comedian Jackie Mason, who rose from a modest childhood on the Lower East Side to become one of the most famous funnymen of all time, has died. He was 93. Mason died at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan Saturday, with his wife Jyll and a few friends by his side, longtime pal and lawyer Raoul Felder told The Post. There will be a small, private funeral service Sunday in New York, said Felder, who declined to name the location. A larger, public memorial service is expected at a later date, the lawyer noted.

Comments:

Rest In Peace. One of the funniest and wises comedians that has trod the earth. And maybe the best thing to come out of Sheboygan, although bratwurst and Kohler toilets may be a close second.

There will never, ever be another like him. What a tremendous loss. He was a genius wrapped in the most unlikely package, and had the presence of a giant. My husband and I made a point of seeing him on Broadway, knowing that the opportunity had to be grabbed. We laughed from start to finish, mesmerized by every word and expression. His mind worked at a thousand miles per hour. His political humor was sharp, honest, and even-handed. He clearly loved what he did, and I am so thankful that I could spend that time in his orbit. As he so hilariously said in one of his restaurant bits, "Showwwww me to my table!". God's had a spot right up front with your name on it, Jackie. Have fun with everyone up there. And thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Seeing Past The Narratives –
Two Election Points to Remember…

There is a great deal of manipulation and falsehood in media presentation of the 2020 election. These lies and false constructs generate a great deal of anxiety. That said, there are two specific approaches by the narrative engineers that deserve a strong reminder. The first purposeful approach media use to create and embed their false assumptions is a slight of hand that few notice, and it can create anxiety. In normal term-two election cycles the baseline for media analysis should be the incumbent electoral win in term one. T

KENOSHA, Wis. — Police in Wisconsin have issued a “warning” about a “highly addictive substance” that has recently resurfaced. The Kenosha Police Department says the substance is commonly known as “Thin Mints,” “Peanut Butter Patties,” “Thanks-A-Lot,” “Peanut Butter Sandwich,” “Shortbread” and “S’mores.” They say that young girls run the operation and get customers with a “good cause story.” Police say if you come in contact with any of these addictive cookies, you can drop them off at the department. Officers are “happy to assist with proper disposal.”

Sen. Cory Booker announced Monday that he will end his campaign after failing to qualify for the Democratic debate planned for Tuesday in Iowa. "It was a difficult decision to make, but I got in this race to win, and I've always said I wouldn't continue if there was no longer a path to victory," Booker said in an email to supporters Monday. The New Jersey Democrat's announcement came a day before six presidential candidates will participate in the CNN/Des Moines Register's debate in Des Moines, Iowa. He did not qualify for the event. It also came as the Senate gears up for the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.

WASHINGTON — Rep. Lizzie Fletcher’s first bill — a measure meant to cut away federal red tape and speed up disaster recovery funding — passed the House nearly unanimously, with just seven votes against it and some of the chamber’s most conservative members joining the freshman Democrat in pushing the legislation forward. The next day, Fletcher voted to impeach President Donald Trump — a move Republicans are dead-set on making sure overshadows all else Fletcher has done in her rather effective first year in Congress.

When a big event happens anywhere in the country, sometimes anywhere in the world, a San Antonio connection somehow emerges. Sometimes it’s found deep in the details. Sometimes it has been there all along, hiding in plain sight. All too often, it comes with bad news. So it was with the death this week of Congressman Elijah Cummings, whose storied political career began when he fought to desegregate a Baltimore swimming pool. He was 11. In his last hours, as the chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, one of three panels leading impeachment investigations of President Donald Trump, Cummings signed two subpoenas.

The Democrat-led House Intelligence Committee has released the whistleblower complaint that triggered President Trump's impeachment inquiry. The complaint cites “multiple White House officials with direct knowledge of the call" between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and accuses Trump of attempting “to pressure the Ukranian leader to take actions to help the President’s 2020 reelection bid.” It also presents allegations that the White House tried to "restrict access" to records of the call. "In the days following the phone call, I learned from multiple U.S. officials that senior White House officials had intervened to 'lock down' all records of the phone call, .

London - The CEO of German industrial giant Siemens says that President Donald Trump is becoming a symbol of intolerance following his attacks on four female members of Congress. "I find it depressing that the most important political office in the world is turning into the face of racism and exclusion," Joe Kaeser said Saturday on Twitter. Kaeser's remarks are the most prominent criticism from the business world in reaction to Trump's rally last week in North Carolina. The US president attacked Somali-born Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar and the crowd chanted "Send her back! Send her back!"

Last November, Disney broke the Internet with its teaser trailer for “The Lion King.” This 93-second video gave millions of people chills by faithfully re-creating key moments from the original film’s beloved opening number. But as nostalgic as “Circle of Life” may make us feel, this bombastic scene is also a painful reminder of the film’s ideological agenda: It introduces us to a society where the weak have learned to worship at the feet of the strong. Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller has agreed to testify before the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees on July 17 after they subpoenaed the special counsel Tuesday, according to the committees' chairmen, Reps. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., and Adam Schiff, D-Calif. Congressional Democrats have fought to get access to Mueller and his unredacted report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and whether President Trump obstructed justice. Weeks of negotiations between House Democrats and the Justice Department ultimately ended with the subpoena. Fox News has learned Mueller would appear only under a subpoena, which has been described as a "friendly" subpoena, one that in essence had been planned.

Nancy Pelosi used to point her angry finger at Donald Trump, but she leaves him for dust when it comes to busting norms, dividing Congress and causing mayhem. If anyone is to blame for the hyper-partisanship in Washington these days, it’s the spiteful House speaker. She behaves more like a Mafia don waging a gang war than a dignified, fair and honest presiding officer, which is what the speaker’s role requires. Pelosi abuses her power in ways that once were unthinkable. Her speakership has been the antithesis of Lincoln’s entreaty to “the better angels of our nature.”

(Snip) Playing politics with public health -- as Biden, Harris and Fauci have -- did more to undermine confidence in our public health apparatus and functionaries than any social media “misinformation,” “misinformation” which, in any event, often turns out to be as true, as was Trump’s claim the virus was created in the Wuhan lab.

For that reason, those Americans who love their country the most have cared the least when Americans have fallen flat in Tokyo.

A lifelong baseball fan, I abandoned the game this year after MLB sided with the Democratic Party in its campaign against ballot integrity in Georgia.
