A 6-year-old girl was killed and five adults hurt after someone opened fire near a Popeye’s in Washington D.C., police said. The child was pronounced dead at Sibley Memorial Hospital, said cops, prompting Metropolitan Police Department Executive Assistant Chief Ashan Benedict to plea for the public to help “bring these shooters to justice.”(Snip) The incident unfolded just after 11 p.m. Friday. Officers heard shots ring out at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Ave SE and Malcolm Avenue X SE, and arrived at the intersection to find the victims, including the child, three men and two women, Benedict said.

Update: "Police said in a tweet that they are looking for a 'dark in color' vehicle." Too rich.

My father chose to settle in Washington, D.C., in 1935 because this was such a nice town with polite and caring neighbors. My wife and I left the city of my birth 50 years ago because of rising crime and we wanted a place to raise children with good schools. It is a thousand per cent worse than it was then. Such a pity for The Nation's Capitol.

Anyone who has lived in the DMV area knows to avoid SE, MLK Dr, and Malcolm X Ave. When you put all three together expect nothing good to happen to you.

Nothing unusual in some crappy parent having their 6 year old at a Popeye's on the corner of MLK and Malcolm X drive at 11pm instead of being at home in bed.

II think it was Chris Rock that said "if you're in a new city and find yourself on MLK Blvd. You're in the wrong neighborhood.

Quick - make the guns from Wisconsin hunters illegal. That will solve the problem.

It could have been some of the Democrats mystical “White Supremacists” looking for the US Capitol Building?
Other posters are right, the powers at be and the liberal media don’t blame Black criminals for all these aggravated assaults and murders as defined in the criminal laws, and to get away with that the inner city Democrats have created the term “gun violence” that exists no place in the criminal laws. What racial group anywhere in the world outside the US big city Black ghettos goes around routinely shooting and murdering small children of their own racial group?

As soon as I saw Popeyes, I didn't need to read any farther. I wonder how many patrons were wearing items with BLM on it.

I love Popeye's and stop whenever I am in one of the two towns in my state that has one. My experience has almost always been pleasant. I chalk that up to the lack of a certain demographic that seems to cause 90% or more of the problems.

Yes, poster #14, a little girl is dead. Her parents will mourn. The staff at the hospital will be devastated they weren't able to save her. But, if I put a sign out on my front yard, across the street from a neighbor who has a black lives matter sign and my sign says little black girl's lives matter too, I'll be called a racist.

Poster 17, anyone who can identify the shooters are unlikely to cooperate with authorities. They don’t know nothin.’ Snitches get stitches.

The suspect spoke Ebonics and fled with a bucketful of Popeye's chicken. Search for Amish residents with an empty bucket of Popeye's Chicken with time-stamped receipt.

It takes a few days most of the time to catch perpetrators like these. Once the word gets around the “community” as to the shooter’s identities and possibly their gang affiliation, the police will receive a call on a tip line and arrangements will be made, in return for a few thousand dollars, for the lady on the other end of the line to confidentially identify the perpetrators to the police. That’s the way it usually works.

Near a Popeye's in DC.
Any white folks involved?
Seems very unlikely.
And more sad indication that black lives don't matter at all to many other blacks.

Lesson learned, never go near a Martin Luther King Street, Avenue, or Boulevard in any city in this country. The wrong sort of people hang out there. I would ask how a gunfight begins over fried chicken but it would be a stupid question.

Not much chance of that, #25. The little darlins' in Chicongo are 4/33 this weekend, with Shoot-a-Palooza Sunday coming up. We should be good for another 50-60 total shootings this weekend again. Just hit 400 homicides last weekend and we are already up to 417.
DC thugs are a bunch of amateurs.

In DC, they're still looking for the Black Man who got out of his Maserati this spring and started shooting at annoying motorists. They have his picture and know who he is. Arrests in D.C. are strictly political.

A fried chicken joint in Washington, DC, at the intersection of MLK and Malcom X avenues? That's a big No from me, dawg. They can't name or shame bLACK people, who are blameless in the USA, nor ask why a 6-year-old is on the streets at 11 PM, so they blame a gun. May as well also point to the city being after a man who owned hundred of African slaves.
