One of the enduring mysteries, one that is rarely explored, is why all right-wing movements in America have failed to make a dent in Progressivism. The first iteration of conservatism in America was washed away by Progressive reformers in the first part of the 20th century. When political crisis struck, conservatives had no political solutions, just theoretical analysis. Progressives, meanwhile, had a program. Being constrained by any normal moral code is one part of the problem. Having liars, cowards and stupid allies is another, but the fundamental issue is a population either desperate or too comfortable and lazy to stand up for the concept of you get what you work for in this life. The eternal lie of a 'free' lunch is seductive to more and more people who want what others have earned or who are happy to grab every 'free' offer their slave masters wave in front of them. It is a rot that has been building thru good times and bad. Helped along by millions of people who should have fought back.

It is easy to be liberal with other people's money. It is much more difficult to implement financial responsibility.

It's pretty damned simple really. Progressives, i.e. in today's context Socialists of various, want to rule whereas Conservatives should want to govern so as to nurture and protect individual freedom. Progressives can't allow a free population and always institute mechanisms to control it, up to and including killing off the most recalcitrant opponents. Never forget that over 100 million individuals perished at the hands of the Socialists in the 20th Century. Not one was a war casualty.

Ideological conservatives are King Canute unable to hold back the tide. Generally, they have no plan to do anything but turn social norms back to some halcyon days or simply block "liberal ideas" with none of their own except status quo, time tested perfection. While liberals transformed American society, what have the conservative ideologues proposed, let alone accomplished? Political conservatism is much different, and anathema to ideological conservatives. Political conservatism is unpure, makes compromises, begs votes, and often fails to deliver the conservative bacon. The Bushes, Romney and McCain were "solid conservatives"; many around here proclaimed so. We've had a "conservative" majority on SCOTUS for years, only to discover otherwise. Today we have too many other sham "conservatives". Lindsey Graham is but one example. Mitch McConnell is another. Both are pure opportunistic pols...and if that means acting a "conservative", that's what they are.

Republicans think if you are a Republican, you should run as a Republican. Democrats think that if they cannot win under the Democrat label, then run under the Republican label. Republicans think the past is to be accepted, and look to the future. Trump was the first person to ever reverse one single thing the socialists did in the past. Both the Republican and Democrat parties are ran by the money, who realize it is better to unite into a uniparty, which guarantees they get what they want, no matter which party is in power. The people get nothing, and are merely choosing between 2 candidates chosen by the uniparty. Democrats have political action cells in every major city, which they have taken 100% control of. The Democrats have thousands of lawyers engaging in political lawfare. The Democrats have propaganda organs dispensing their talking points 24/7. The Republicans have got nothing. The Democrats organize and agitate. The Republicans go in individual directions, and are silent.

Many, may times people who are not necessarily baptized in conservative politics have banged their heads and asked me 'why are the (Democrats, Governors, Attorneys General, Police chiefs,...) doing this this. Don't they know it's ruining our civilization? My answer has always been, because they WANT to destroy our American traditions.. Once you realize their goals, it's easier to understand where the enemy is coming from and how to deal with it. The big question is WHO will deal with it? Now it has a name: 'Anarcho-tyranny'

Taki's uncomfortable thesis is the we conservatives, for the most part, accept the left's Enlightenment assumptions, and these assumptions produce the results. The Enlightenment assumption is the adequacy of human reason unaided by divine revelation. Are conservatives ready to proclaim the Bible as the foundation of their political philosophy? I don't think many are ready for that yet. Perhaps that will change after a disaster of sufficient magnitude.

In a year where 141 police officers have died in the line of duty, seven of whom were shot to death in May alone, Amazon is still selling tons of hateful, anti-police apparel, including “Blue Lives Murder” t-shirts, hoodies, and masks. Three of the last four officers who died in the line of duty were Hispanic, so quit with the “cops are white supremacists” nonsense. No, this isn’t a joke. Edward Luttwak, the distinguished Israeli-American strategist and public intellectual, tweeted the following this morning: 11 Chinese universities teach Greek and Latin. Another 20 seek staff to so as well. Back in the US, the Princeton CLASSICS department has just eliminated the Latin or Greek requirement “to address systemic racism”. Truly racist say I. Why not just end it ? Jobs await in 中国 The Chinese characters at the end mean “Middle Kingdom.” Princeton created an uproar by ditching the requirement for classics majors to learn Greek or Latin. That shouldn’t be a surprise: In 2017 Harvard eliminated the music theory requirement for music majors.

As an admittedly partisan writer, my bias shows up in the subjects I cover, not in the facts I report. I want to know what the other guys know. It is always helpful, often essential. Reporters in the political center and on left seem to feel no such obligation. Writing for audiences that know no more than what Big Media has chosen to tell them, these “journalists” are inclined to write politically useful fiction and often get away with it. Such is the case with Edward-Isaac Dovere in his new bestseller, Battle for the Soul: Inside the Democrats' Campaigns to Defeat Trump. Although no great fan of Barack Obama,

The last American president with actual combat experience, in a conflict where the United States proved victorious, was George H.W. Bush. During World War II, Bush served as a pilot with Torpedo Squadron 51 (VT-51) and on his 58th mission he was shot down by the Japanese and rescued by a U.S. submarine. Joe Biden never served in the military but from 2008-2016 he was vice president to the composite character David Garrow described in Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama. The former Barry Soetoro never served, and for the Obama-Biden team, the role of the U.S. military was not to defeat America’s enemies.

A lot was made last week about Tuesday May 25th being the first anniversary of George Floyd's death while in police custody. For me, the most graphic indication of the impact of Floyd’s death and its year-long over-the-top aftermath was provided by the photograph and videos of George Floyd’s relatives last Tuesday outside the White House after they met with President Biden and Vice President Harris. Right in front of the White House, family members and their attorney had their clenched fists raised and pumping in the air in a radical black power salute reminiscent of the Marxist Black Panthers of the late 1960s.

One analyst, writing on Twitter suggested that even if suspicions the coronavirus pandemic originated in a lab should prove well-founded, that little would come of it because regional reactions had already taken it into account. The world would move on as before in other words. But this is unlikely for several reasons the most obvious of which are: the ecosystem of the world has been globally and forever changed. Billions of lives and careers have been altered, thousands of industries devastated and millions of lives lost. a political backlash which may alter the balance of the 2022 elections in the US and similarly in Europe.

ATLANTA, GA – Those in law enforcement, and their supporters, have spent way too much time examining the case lodged against Derek Chauvin – and not enough time contemplating the ramifications of the trial of Atlanta Police Officer Garrett Rolfe. In 2015, The Atlantic ran a cover story titled, "Is It Time for the Jews to Leave Europe?" In 2021, the question is whether it’s time for the Jews to leave New York and Los Angeles. The magazine cover story mentioned Malmo. Most stories about antisemitism in Europe reference the Swedish city whose Jewish population dropped from 3,000 to barely 800. Current estimates are that Malmo will have no Jews left by the end of the decade as its population flees Muslim mob violence, firebombings, and random assaults: including 100 aimed at its sole rabbi. “I hear students shouting in the hallway about killing Jews,” a public school teacher described. The Manchurian Candidate movie, based on a novel by Richard Condon, was once denounced by a British critic as a “cheaply paranoid fantasy.” Roger Ebert, reviewing the 1962 movie, acknowledged that it touched a chord despite being unrealistic: "The title of 'The Manchurian Candidate' has entered everyday speech as shorthand for a brainwashed sleeper…That such programming is impossible has not prevented it from being absorbed as fact." But if subliminal programming were really impossible, then why did it evoke such a strong reaction in 1962? We’re still gripped by paranoia. Several counties in Oregon on May 18 voted to consider joining the state of Idaho, which is part of a long-shot movement to break away from the state that has long been dominated by politicians in Portland. Voters in Malheur, Sherman, Grant, Baker, and Lake counties approved various measures that require county officials to take steps to look into moving the Idaho border west to incorporate the counties. The grassroots group Move Oregon’s Border for a Greater Idaho is aiming to have the eastern counties—which are mostly rural—join Idaho because they believe they would be better off with Idaho’s more conservative political leadership.
