Houston–She wondered what the children knew. Kimberly Hewitt noticed them playing outside Cuney Homes when she arrived on the anniversary of George Floyd's killing and feared the deaths of Black people were starting to seem too normal. She did not want young people here to think an early death was their fate, too. Hewitt and several dozen well-wishers prayed. They recited Floyd's name and released a panoply of red and gold balloons into the sky. Yet the mourning was hardly over. Floyd was only one in a cascade of neighborhood men to die lately, and they had another funeral to attend.

Dr Anthony Fauci, the top infectious diseases expert in the US, has warned it is too early to declare victory against Covid-19 as cases fall in the country to the lowest rates since last June. “We don’t want to declare victory prematurely because we still have a ways to go,” Fauci told the Guardian in an interview. “But the more and more people that can get vaccinated, as a community, the community will be safer and safer.”(Snip) “As long as there is some degree of activity throughout the world, there’s always a danger of variants emerging and diminishing somewhat the effectiveness of our vaccines,” said Fauci,

Florida is threatening to slap cruise lines with tens of thousands of dollars in fines for requiring passengers to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination—uncomfortably wedging the sector between a federal mandate and the state’s sensibility. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a law earlier this month that banned bars, schools, restaurants and other businesses from asking customers whether they’ve been vaccinated against COVID-19.
The law goes so far as to impose a fine of $5,000 per customer that is required to show proof of vaccination, and the governor hasn’t yet shown any signs of making a carveout for the cruise industry.

A Navy warship and the Pentagon’s Missile Defense Agency on Saturday failed twice in a key test to shoot down a medium-range ballistic missile, raising questions about America’s readiness to intercept potential enemy attacks. The Defense Department did not reveal a specific location, but it’s believed the test took place somewhere off the coast of Hawaii. The announcement of the test’s failure comes just one day after the Biden administration requested a fiscal 2022 budget of $8.9 billion for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), down from its 2021 figure of $9.1 billion.(Snip) Perhaps adding insult to injury, a Russian naval surveillance ship

Pete Buttigieg urged U.S. travelers to respect flight attendants and other crew members as guidance still states even vaccinated people have to wear face coverings on public transportation like planes, trains and buses.(Snip)
'They're following regulations and they're there to keep you safe. It is absolutely unacceptable to ever mistreat a transportation worker. 'And of course, there's very serious fines and enforcement around that,' Buttigieg added, pledging strict federal enforcement against those who push back against these rules. Buttigieg said the federal mask mandate, which remains in effect on planes, buses and trains until September 13, continues to be driven by public health considerations.

“Blue’s Clues” is going on parade—a pride parade, that is. A new singalong for the preschool crowd posted to Nickelodeon’s YouTube channel this week shows the beloved cartoon pup in a singalong about families—lead by “RuPaul’s Drag Race” star Nina West. “The Blue’s Clues Pride Parade 🏳️🌈 Sing-Along Ft. Nina West!” includes a cartoon version of the drag queen crooning about all different kinds of families, including those with trans, non-binary, lesbian and gay parents. “This family has two mommies, they love each other so proudly, and they all go marching in the big parade!” West sings, as each family, depicted as different animals

Washington—It was another week with another horrific mass shooting. In cities across the country, gun homicides were climbing. Democrats and Republicans argued over the causes. President Joe Biden said enough.(Snip) In March 2020, federal background checks, a rough proxy for purchases, topped 1 million in a week for the first time since the government began tracking them in 1998. And the buying continued, through the protests in the summer and the election in the fall, until a week this spring broke the record with 1.2 million background checks. "There was a surge in purchasing unlike anything we've ever seen," said Dr. Garen J. Wintemute,

In 2016, federal officials detained the San Jose man accused of killing nine of his colleagues last week, finding him with books on terrorism and detailed writings about how much he hated the people at his work—but nobody bothered to alert local authorities, according to reports. Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen told USA Today Friday the intel might have helped prevent the mass attack by Samuel Cassidy Wednesday that resulted in the deaths of nine employees at the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority light rail hub.(Snip) Cassidy was stopped on a trip back from the Philippines in 2016 by US Customs and Border Protection.

It’s the jab or the job. Employers are allowed under federal law to require workers to get a COVID-19 vaccine before they can physically return to the workplace, according to updated guidance issued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Friday. But they must provide “reasonable accommodations” for workers who refuse the shots because of a disability—including pregnancy—or for religious reasons, the agency said. The decision may mean unvaccinated employees could be required to wear masks, or to work remotely. The EEOC’s rules also gave the green light to companies offering incentives as a means of encouraging staffers to get vaccinated,

Last fall, parents at the posh $55,000-per-year Dalton School got wind of their first-graders being taught sex-education lessons that included masturbation. They complained to school administrators, but were told they had simply “misinterpreted” what Dalton’s now-notorious “health and wellness” educator Justine Ang Fonte—who last month led a controversial and explicit “porn literacy” workshop at another elite prep school—was teaching.(Snip) The Post viewed video of a cartoon Fonte used in one of her sex-ed classes for 6-year-olds showing little kids talking about “touching themselves” for pleasure. “Hey, how come sometimes my penis gets big sometimes

The "educator" is pictured holding a sign boasting about "disrupting" health education. A properly functioning society would have her arrested, but Marxist USA is fully on board with it. Stated goal #26 of the communist party USA, 1963: "Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as 'normal, natural, healthy.'" We helped the Soviets win WW2, and taking control of the US government and dismantling the republic is how they repaid our sacrifice.
