Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced Saturday he was opening a new grant of Temporary Protected Status for Haitians living in the U.S., saying that country’s unrest is so bad that people shouldn’t be forced to return home. Advocacy groups said perhaps 100,000 Haitians living in the U.S.—many of them illegally—can be protected. TPS grants them a deportation amnesty and allows them to obtain legal work permits, Social Security numbers and some taxpayer benefits. “Haiti is currently experiencing serious security concerns, social unrest, an increase in human rights abuses, crippling poverty, and lack of basic resources, which are exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic,”

Why bother making an announcement!
Just let them walk in over the southern border.

Oh bull. It seems like most of the island have already moved to Florida. There are two kinds of Haitians. Those doing well because of a Catholic education in the islands and the welfare group-single with seven kids sucking up free stuff in the US.
Does Slick have his hands in this one too ?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't the grifter clintoons supposed to be the saviours of Haiti? did they not get yours and my tax $$$ to aid those haitians? The foundation was to alleviate haiti's third world toilet status, was it not?
Yet another excuse to rip off American taxpayers and pocket the $$$!

My husband and I got to the Dominican Republican (Punta Cana) multiple times each year. The residents in Dominican Republican say that they DO NOT want the Haitians. According to the DR residents, Haitians have too many problems....like crime.

I seem to remember that the DR has strict, shoot to kill orders to protect itself from Haitian border crossings(and has for many years) , with the line of demarcation at the peak of the mountain range that divides the two.
If their own neighbors don't trust them, why would WE?

Of course he did. Someone better keep a list of the Biden regime's executive orders. We need counter orders ready to be executed on the first day possible.

Haiti is experiencing security concerns because of people like these 100,000 that won't be deported. Now the US gets to experience the security concerns. Ask Florida horse owners what they think of Haitians.
Haiti used to be an interesting but dangerous place for tourism. That was fifty years ago. I can't imagine the kind of danger tourists face now. Thankfully for their immmigrants the US has become the world's zookeeper.

The Biden administration grants and decrees. Used to, administrations followed laws passed by representatives of the people, but that don't happen anymore.

Alejandro Mayorkas could easily have said what he did about Haiti, and include just about all the other underdeveloped countries populated by “people of color” in the entire world. As clearly the long-term political objective of the leftist Democrats in that respect is to use both illegal and legal immigration to flood the USA with foreign “people of color” in order to change and transform USA voter demographics and the politics of the country to that of a minority majority socialist utopia. What we are watching is an irreversible disaster in the making with countries like China and Russia laughing their butts off.

From a recent report: "Haiti has one of the lowest death rates from COVID-19 in the world, and scientists are mystified about why."
Nothing to see here...just a justification for what was going to be done.

I think the takeaway of Mayorkas' announcement is to significantly increase the "unrest: in the US of A, so that all so-called political refugees, wherever they are from, can be repatriated back to their own countries.

Oh, whatever will they do? Hold buckets in the intersections for donations to who knows what? Drive taxis for corrupt muslim owners? Clean windshields while you wait at the red light? It's time to clean house.

Apologies for a second post. Imagine if we deported everybody who is not an American citizen ?
We have people here who will never become citizens or speak English, yet enjoy American perks and privilege.
