A huge blaze has broken out at an oil refinery in southern Tehran just hours after one of Iran's largest naval ships sank after catching fire in the Gulf of Oman. Officials said the fire at the Tondgooyan Petrochemical Co. was an accident, blaming a leak in a liquefied gas line that triggered an explosion. The cause of the leak is unclear. Intense flames and plumes of black smoke that had been visible from far across the capital were gradually being brought under control on Wednesday evening, several hours after the fire broke out. The cause of the fire on the British-built fleet replenishment vessel Kharg is still

Dr. Anthony Fauci was warned that the coronavirus had possibly been “engineered” and appeared to be taking reports about it seriously—at the same time he was publicly downplaying the notion of the virus being created in a lab, according to his emails. Meanwhile, Fauci, America’s top expert in infectious diseases, also got a “personal thank you” for backing the “natural origin” theory from the head of a nonprofit that used a $3.4 million government grant to fund research at the Chinese lab suspected of creating the virus, the emails show. On Jan. 31, 2020—more than two months before the World Health Organization characterized COVID-19 as a pandemic

Is the Galactic Empire secretly pulling the strings behind America’s newest military department? A recent photograph of a high-ranking Air Force officer transferring into the U.S. Space Force is prompting questions that Pentagon officials are hesitant to answer. In the official Department of Defense photograph, Maj. Gen. DeAnna Burt is sworn into the U.S. Space Force at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. Closely monitoring the event are a pair of Storm Troopers, the ruthless infantry soldiers of the Empire along with a member of the dreaded Red Guard, Emperor Palpatine’s personal security detail. On Wednesday, reporters grilled top Pentagon officials about the unusual photograph.

One of Iran’s largest warships caught fire and sank Wednesday in the Gulf of Oman during a “training mission”—as a series of mysterious explosions have targeted commercial vessels in the sensitive region since 2019. The British-built Kharg, which measured more than 650 feet long, erupted into flames Tuesday off the strategic port of Jask, Reuters reported. The ship was in “domestic waters” during “a training mission,” said the navy’s head of public relations, Behzad Jahanian, according to Iran’s Tasnim news agency. No further details were given and Jahanian said the cause of the blaze was “still not clear.” After an unsuccessful rescue mission,

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday signed legislation barring transgender athletes who identify as female from competing in girls’ and women’s sports, joining seven other states in what he described as an effort to protect female sports. Mr. DeSantis, a Republican, gave the Fairness in Women’s Sports Act his signature flanked by teenage female athletes at Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville. “I can tell you that in Florida, girls are going to play girls’ sports, and boys are going to play boys’ sports,” Mr. DeSantis said at the event.(Snip) The Florida law covers state-sponsored female athletics from middle school to college.

The boys and girls in the lab have been very, very busy. Think of the riches to be had on new vaccines.
