White House press secretary Jen Psaki fired back at a reporter who questioned why Kamala Harris went to a Chicago bakery when she still hasn't addressed the mounting crisis at the border. 'She got a snack,' Psaki quipped. 'I think she's allowed to do that.' New York Post reporter Steven Nelson acknowledged during Wednesday's press briefing: 'As we discussed here today, Vice President Harris is put in charge of addressing the root causes of the border crisis.' 'She hasn't visited the border or Central America or spoken with leaders of El Salvador or Honduras,' he noted. 'She was traveling this week, took time to visit

The Pennsylvania Department of State has agreed to remove more than 20,000 dead voters from the state’s voting rolls in a settlement reached with an election-integrity group. The state agreed to compare its voter-registration database with the Social Security Death Index, directing all county election commissioners to remove the names of dead voters. “This marks an important victory for the integrity of elections in Pennsylvania,” said J. Christian Adams, president of the Public Interest Legal Foundation, which sued the state in October.(Snip) The lawsuit argued that hundreds of these dead voters showed up with post-death voting credits in 2016 and 2018.

Hamdayet, Sudan—The atrocities have been seared into the skin and minds of Tigrayans, who shelter by the thousands within sight of the homeland they fled in northern Ethiopia. They arrive in heat that soars above 100 F, carrying the pain of gunshot wounds, torn vaginas, welts on beaten backs. Less visible are the memories: Dozens of bodies strewn on riverbanks. Fighters raping a woman one by one for speaking her own language. A child, weakened by hunger, left behind. Now, for the first time, they also bring proof of an official attempt at what is being called ethnic cleansing in the form of

A federal review of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s widely panned LaGuardia Airport AirTrain project accused officials of using “arbitrary” criteria to ensure the plan was chosen above all others—and concluded the railway would likely be slower than just driving there, newly revealed documents show. Emails and documents obtained by environmental group Riverkeeper this week through a freedom of information request show Federal Aviation Administration officials in 2019 peppered the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey with concerns about its rationale for rejecting alternatives to the pricey project—even though the feds are now poised to green-light it.

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan said the group is mourning its “brother” who died assaulting Capitol cops last week—saying the cop killer could have been a future “star” for the movement. In a statement Tuesday, the Nation of Islam confirmed that Noah Green, 25, was studying to become a full member—but blamed “potential mental illness” for him plowing a car into two Capitol cops and then jumping out with a knife on Friday. “I am sure, had he been blessed to come through the crisis that he was going through, he would have been a star in the mission of the resurrection

Kamala Harris has still to visit the US-Mexico border or even hold a press conference about her new duties in the two weeks since being tasked with addressing the migrant crisis. The Vice President spent Easter weekend at her Brentwood home in Southern California where she baked a 'beautiful' roast pork with rice and peas, but did not find time in her schedule to visit the nearby border. In the past two weeks she has also visited Connecticut for a talk with the Boys and Girls Club of New Haven, met with Gavin Newsom to show support amid his potential recall election,

At least seven US colleges have said students must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to come back to their campuses this fall with Brown University and Northeastern University the latest to implement such rules.
Brown, Northeastern, Cornell University, Rutgers University, Fort Lewis College, Nova Southeastern University and St. Edward's University each announced COVID-19 vaccination requirements for returning students in recent weeks. Students with specific underlying medical conditions and religious beliefs can apply to be exempt from the rule which the institutions say is crucial to be able to welcome people back to in-person learning at full pre-pandemic capacity.
