President Biden on Sunday expressed optimism about getting gun control legislation passed on Capitol Hill — claiming he’s done it before and can do it again.“I’m the only one who’s ever gotten it passed, man,” Biden told reporters at New Castle Air National Guard Base in Delaware.“Everyone keeps wondering whether I care about dealing with rational gun control — the only gun control legislation ever passed is mine.“It’s gonna happen again.”The president said that he was even willing to call Republican members of Congress to help push through a deal

The former president is obsessed with defeating him next year. He’s getting mauled by his own state party. Last week alone, a Republican congressman announced he’d challenge in the primary and the state legislature voted to strip his office of some official powers.
By most accounts, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger doesn’t have a prayer of being reelected.
“He’s toast,” said Jay Williams, a Georgia-based Republican strategist. “I don’t know that there’s a single elected official who would put their neck out for Brad Raffensperger right now.”

"Screw up, move up" is standard operating procedure in corporate and government bureaucracies. But in American journalism, the system goes far beyond rewarding incompetence. It sanctifies bias. It promotes dishonesty. It incentivizes malice.
Want to get ahead in the liberal media? Just follow this credo: "Spew lies, climb high." Take the case of professional character assassin Talia Lavin. This week, she published a high-profile feature at MSNBC.com as an official "MSNBC Opinion Columnist." The hit piece targets a new upstart group of young college conservatives who have broken away from the establishment College Republican National Committee.

The Biden administration is desperately trying to prevent the American people from realizing the extent of the fiasco at our Southern border. Thus, loyal Democrat Chris Wallace this morning criticized Biden, pointing out that the Trump administration was more transparent.
The Biden administration has repeatedly tried to prevent photos and videos of conditions at the border from reaching the American people. Late last week, a delegation of 18 senators visited the border, in particular the Donna, Texas facility that has been the center of the crisis. The Biden administration sent a political operative (as described by Senator Ted Cruz) to try to block Cruz from filming the Donna disaster:

The Biden administration is putting out a call for government volunteers to report for duty amid the significant surge at the border, but many are asking -- where is the person deputized to 'fix' the line in the sand crisis? As the immigration mess at the southern border gets more and more out of hand, Vice President Kamala Harris still remains inexplicably silent. Even after President Biden officially tapped the VP Wednesday to lead in response to border challenges, there aren’t any plans for her to travel south or even address the issue. Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) said during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Saturday that he met with a bipartisan group of local leaders at the southern border on Friday who told him the “practical ramifications” of the ongoing immigration crisis “are unbearable.”
Braun along with 17 of his Senate colleagues had traveled to the border this week and witnessed crisis conditions firsthand, including a cramped federal facility in Donna, Texas, that held primarily unaccompanied alien children (UACs) and exceeded capacity limits while forgoing what have become common coronavirus social distancing and quarantining policies for Americans.

As we previously reported, President Donald Trump said this weekend that he might go to the border since Joe Biden didn’t seem to be addressing the border crisis; that he’s been asked by folks in the CBP and ICE to go to the border.
Biden hasn’t gone to the border and, in the past, when asked if he would go, has just blown off the question without any direct responses, downplaying the whole thing.
Today, he was asked about Trump’s remarks about going to the border — did he think that Trump going would be productive, and did he, Biden, have any thoughts

With the untimely death of Christopher Lasch in 1994 at the age of 61, America was deprived of one of her most articulate and earnestly plangent social critics. By training, Lasch was an historian of 19th- and 20th-century American culture. For some 30- years, he specialized in anatomizing—exaggerating, some would say—certain “odious facts” about American culture.
Already in 1965, in his widely admired book The New Radicalism in America, 1889-1963, Lasch deplored the “decline of the sense of community” in American society.

The president said he wasn't interested in "what the other guy does" as he disembarked Air Force One today. He added that his administration "is putting together an immigration plan we feel very confident” about.
Biden was responding to plans to go to the border like former president Donald Trump this week suggested he may do.
Biden also answered a reporter's question on "China partnering with Iran."
With a serious tone he quipped: "We've been worrying about that for years."

In response, Donald Trump made an announcement today that he’s planning to go to the border in the next few weeks. Excerpts via The Blaze.

Amid reports Hunter Biden may have given false information on an ATF background check form, it is notable that the punishment for false answers on that form includes fines up to $250,000 and/or ten years of imprisonment.ATF Form 4473 is the background check each would-be gun buyer fills out upon trying to buy a gun at retail. A Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder then calls the FBI and relays the information from the form, receiving the all-clear to sell the gun or a rejection, which means the gun cannot be sold to the would-be buyer. A third option is that the FBI can alert the FFL holder

Part of the Defense Authorization Act that passed Congress over President Trump’s veto (it had only twelve No votes in the Senate and 87 No votes in the House) was the mainstreaming of Critical Race Theory into the U.S. Defense establishment. This attack of morale, good order, and discipline comes in the form of mandating a “diversity and inclusion” (diversity and inclusion do not, apparently, extend to heterosexual males, particularly if they are white) apparatus at all levels of command and essentially instituting something like NKVD commissars to ensure the entire chain of command is supportive of racial grievance-mongering.

A giant container ship remained stuck sideways in Egypt's Suez Canal for a fifth day Saturday, as authorities prepared to make new attempts to free the vessel and reopen a crucial east-west waterway for global shipping. The Ever Given's owners say a gust of wind pushed it and its huge cargo of more than 20,000 shipping containers sideways in the canal on Tuesday, wedging it between the canal's sandy banks. The massive vessel got stuck in a single-lane stretch of the canal a few miles from its southern entrance.

U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) did not know that a newly hired officer had compared former President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler and expressed support for the quasi-Marxist equity theory, a spokesperson said on Saturday.
USSOCOM on Thursday announced the hiring of Richard Torres-Estrada as its chief of diversity and inclusion.
Torres-Estrada last year compared Trump, who was president at the time, with Hitler, who perpetrated the Holocaust, killing millions of Jews in Europe. He also made at least one other clear anti-Trump post, according to Facebook posts reviewed by The Epoch Times. In addition, Torres-Estrada posted an image expressing support for the radical theory of equity,

Fox News’ Chris Wallace spoke with White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Sunday and opened by asking about the migrant surge at the border — particularly the lack of media access to border facilities.President Joe Biden was questioned on that issue during his Thursday press conference. He said, “You’ll have full access to everything once we get this thing moving.”Wallace noted to Psaki that “the only way we know how bad conditions are” right now is because of pictures that members of Congress released.“These kids are living in these conditions now. They’re not living in these conditions some indeterminate time from now

Just one month ago Joe Biden spread direct Chinese Communist Party propaganda when he was asked about Xi Jinping’s genocide of the Uyghurs during the CNN town hall. One million Muslims (the majority of them Uyghurs) have been held in secretive detention camps without any legal process since 2014. It has been described as a genocide, the likes of which have not been seen since WWII.Biden said the Uyghur genocide is just “a Chinese cultural norm.” (Tweet/Video) That was just last month.
Then today Joe Biden suggested Trump did not speak out on the Uyghur genocide or Hong Kong or China?

In Lee Child’s thriller Personal, his audacious hero Jack Reacher lays down the four attributes of good spycraft: hard work, attention to detail, lateral thinking (“outside the box,” as the phrase has it) and unconventional or creative adaptations to circumstance. These are precisely the traits that characterize the mindset and practice of the good writer in any field or genre. Apart from the pragmatic aspects of, let us say, writecraft, one may add, as Ernest Hemingway did in A Moveable Feast, a moral component as well. “All you have to do is write one true sentence,” Hemingway said. “Write the truest sentence that you know.” The rest follows.

Wearing a Superman zip-up hoodie, the 5-year-old Honduran boy looked out the airplane window, pointing at the sky in seeming disbelief that such a large craft was reaching the clouds. A few days ago Yancarlos Amaya was walking along the muddy river bank after crossing the Rio Grande and landing on the U.S. side of the border with Mexico. His mother, Celestina Ramirez, 28, said they turned themselves in to U.S. Border Patrol officers and later spent hours in custody, a night under a bridge and three more days in a detention facility.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo will relax some of the state’s limits on indoor and outdoor gatherings as officials prepare to receive the first shipments of the new Johnson & Johnson coronavirus vaccine, which they hope will dramatically speed efforts to inoculate New Yorkers. The scandal-rocked governor announced the tweaks to the Empire State’s social distancing regulations as he made his first public remarks since two more women came forward with detailed allegations of unwanted advances from Cuomo — all of which unfolded as his administration continues to battle questions about how its policy directives exacerbated the COVID outbreaks in nursing homes last spring.

Almost 225 years ago to the day, Abigail Adams counseled her husband to “Remember the Ladies.” Her tone in their correspondence was playful, yet serious. Treat women as friends rather than vassals or else we will “foment a Rebelion,” she teased, or was it warned? She appealed to the principles of equality and consent of the governed with charming pluck. Hers was a great example of spirited femininity, which combines Americanism and femininity. It is both cultivated by and protective of American principles.

A lock of former President George Washington’s hair is up for auction with a starting bid of $1,000. As of Saturday, seven private bids have increased the price to $1,771. The auction ends April 2 at 11 p.m.As Leland’s describes the item: These multiple strands of George Washington’s hair have been thoughtfully stored in this hand made brass and glass locket measuring roughly 1.75×2.5″ for many years.

While Americans have been protected from paying for elective abortions with their federal tax dollars since 1976, that decades-old reprieve could soon be coming to an end. Democrats in Congress on Thursday reintroduced legislation to end the Hyde Amendment with the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance Act of 2021, also known as the EACH Act for short. Part of the bill reads that "A person’s income level, wealth, or type of insurance should not prevent them from having access to a full range of pregnancy-related health care, including abortion services."Democratic Reps. From President Joe Biden on down, the administration is telling nonstop, bald-faced lies about the border crisis — while trying to stop the media from reporting the truth.Biden insists the surge is normal, when it’s setting records. He insists it’s not because of his words and policies, when common sense, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and the migrants themselves say the opposite. He also pretends it’s all his predecessor’s fault, with yet more lies about what President Donald Trump did.And he claims most illegal crossers are being turned back, when officials on the ground report the reverse.

Two weeks ago, I wrote of the Department of Justice’s overreach respecting some of the hundreds of January 6 defendants. On Friday the D.C. Circuit clipped the department’s wings. I expect more such losses as time goes on and the Department must actually present evidence in contested trials.
The ploy of keeping in D.C. jails without bail some of the protestors who engaged in no specific violent acts at the Capitol until their cases can be heard was very obviously designed to compel them to plea bargain so they could return home to their families and jobs, and the three-judge panel wasn’t buying it.

New Haven—You almost didn’t have to ask Maya Cedor, 6, and her brother Dresden, 8, what was so special about Vice President Kamala Harris flying into Tweed New Haven Regional Airport to visit New Haven and West Haven that would cause their family to wait for hours just to catch a glimpse of her limo driving by. All you had to do was read the sign sketched out on the blackboard Maya held: “My VP looks like me!!” OK, it was Maya’s mother, Gayathri Cedor — whose family was among about 150 people gathered along Burr and Dean streets to watch Harris’ plane land and hope for a glimpse —

In an exclusive interview with Fox News' Judge Jeanine Pirro, President Donald Trump called in to share his thoughts on the crisis at the southern border. He acknowledged that "a lot of people want me to" go to the border, including the Border Patrol and I.C.E. agents, who he said he "owe[d] it to" and emphasized his "respect" for the agents whom he sympathized with "are dying for leadership." (Tweet/Video) The former president did reference the failures of President Joe Biden ad Vice President Kamala Harris. "I would love not to be involved," which may seem like shocking words from Trump, until he reminded that

So many on the left were predicting disaster for Texas after Republican Governor Greg Abbott lifted any remaining Wuhan coronavirus restrictions from the government and eliminated the mask mandate.
Texas announced on March 2 that it would take effect March 10.
Immediately, Joe Biden slammed Abbott’s decision as “Neanderthal thinking.” From Fox News:
“We’ve been able to move that all the way up to the end of May to have enough [vaccines] for every American, to get every adult American to get a shot,” Biden told reporters from the White House earlier this month. “The last thing we need is the Neanderthal thinking.”

Monday, Marcch 8..A Nuclear Bomb Dropped On The Royals - Got to the Good Morning Britain studios at 4am to watch Oprah Winfrey's much-hyped interview with Prince Harry and his wife Meghan which just finished airing in the US. Ninety jaw-dropping minutes later, I raced round to Susanna Reid's dressing room and we exclaimed in unison: 'My God…' The Duke and Duchess of Sussex just dropped a nuclear-sized scandal bomb into the very heart of the Royal Family. Their shocking claims of racism at the Palace concerning their son Archie, and an alleged refusal by Royal staff to let Meghan receive treatment for suicidal thoughts
