The nation’s very first “vaccine passport” is coming to the Big Apple.
The program, dubbed the “Excelsior Pass,” is an app that will allow New Yorkers to prove their vaccination status, or recent history of a negative COVID-19 test, in order to gain entry to events and businesses, Governor Cuomo announced in a news release Friday. “Similar to a mobile airline boarding pass, individuals will be able to either print out their pass or store it on their smartphones using the Excelsior Pass Wallet app,” the news release explains. “Each Pass will have a secure QR code, which participating businesses and venues

The University of Oxford is considering scrapping sheet music for being 'too colonial' after staff raised concerns about the 'complicity in white supremacy' in music curriculums. Professors are set to reform their music courses to move away from the classic repertoire, which includes the likes of Beethoven and Mozart, in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement.
University staff have argued that the current curriculum focuses on 'white European music from the slave period', according to The Telegraph.(Snip) It claimed that teaching musical notation had 'not shaken off its connection to its colonial past' and would be 'a slap in the face' to some students.

The liberal children of evangelical preacher Rev. Rick Joyner have spoken out against their famous father's far-right rhetoric, saying it could cause violence.
Joyner, 71, who founded MorningStar Ministries and has written a slew of bestselling books, believes that 'liberals are in league with Satan and Democrats are plotting to criminalize Christianity.' [SNIP] Anna Jane - who is a podcast host and a climate change activist - is particularly perturbed by her father's recent assertion that Joe Biden is a 'Marxist who stole the election'.
She worries that her dad's extreme views may spark civil unrest.

It has been more than two months since Kamala Harris was sworn in as vice president of the United States, a historic moment for the country, as Harris is the first woman and the first woman of color to hold the second highest office in the land. Yet, Harris -- along with her husband, Georgetown Law professor Douglas Emhoff -- is still, ostensibly, living out of suitcases, unable to move into the private residence reserved for the vice president because it's still undergoing renovations. It's unclear why the renovations are taking so long, said one administration official, but it's a situation that

Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby says the city will no longer prosecute for prostitution, drug possession and other low-level offenses.
Mosby made the announcement on Friday following her office's one-year experiment in not prosecuting minor offenses to decrease the spread of Covid-19 behind bars.
"Today, America's war on drug users is over in the city of Baltimore. We leave behind the era of tough-on-crime prosecution and zero tolerance policing and no longer default to the status quo to criminalize mostly people of color for addiction, said Mosby in an official press release. The experiment, known as The Covid Criminal Justice Policies

New Haven—You almost didn’t have to ask Maya Cedor, 6, and her brother Dresden, 8, what was so special about Vice President Kamala Harris flying into Tweed New Haven Regional Airport to visit New Haven and West Haven that would cause their family to wait for hours just to catch a glimpse of her limo driving by. All you had to do was read the sign sketched out on the blackboard Maya held: “My VP looks like me!!” OK, it was Maya’s mother, Gayathri Cedor — whose family was among about 150 people gathered along Burr and Dean streets to watch Harris’ plane land and hope for a glimpse —

Monday, Marcch 8..A Nuclear Bomb Dropped On The Royals - Got to the Good Morning Britain studios at 4am to watch Oprah Winfrey's much-hyped interview with Prince Harry and his wife Meghan which just finished airing in the US. Ninety jaw-dropping minutes later, I raced round to Susanna Reid's dressing room and we exclaimed in unison: 'My God…' The Duke and Duchess of Sussex just dropped a nuclear-sized scandal bomb into the very heart of the Royal Family. Their shocking claims of racism at the Palace concerning their son Archie, and an alleged refusal by Royal staff to let Meghan receive treatment for suicidal thoughts
