Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador asserted that the Biden administration’s immigration policies have contributed to a surge of migrants that has overwhelmed facilities at the southern border in recent weeks.
President Biden reversed several Trump-era immigration measures, loosening restrictions for asylum claimants and ending a policy that required migrants to remain in Mexico while making their case to enter the United States. Lopez Obrador said the changes prompted migrants fleeing harsh conditions in Central America to risk the journey to the border.

I purely do miss President Trump......

Seems to me that Mexico's failure to secure their southern border is the reason for the crisis too.

A border surge? While out in the forest, should you leave goodies strewn around your campsite, bears will show up. If you leave goodies on the picnic table, the wildlife will show up. People aren't much different . . . just the thought of "free goodies" . . . people will show up. The offer of free goodies at the border, people will show up. Why is a border surge a big surprise to any body, much less our "leaders''?

This is important. Biden has said that they “talked” and had a very good understanding. Another lie.

Reading the replies, I don’t understand the condescension, the dismissal of the importance of Lopez Obrador’s public statement. He played a big part in the success of President Trump’s border program. Why do we say demeaning things?

Everyone up to their necks in this are finger pointing and pleading powerlessness. The Mexicans COULD control their southern border. The Mexicans could control the transit of people north. Mexico, like its Central American counterparts, has a tradition of crooked government, particularly the locals, where the police are expected to supplement their meager wages with “la morbita,” or petty bribery. Anyone who has spent time in the region knows the game. It's nothing personal...it is the "tax", as I was once told before handing over two bucks to a Mexican immigration officer.
Of course, Biden knows nothing, which may be true. Homeland Security (a post-9/11 joke) goes along with the latest lawbreaking policy. No one there is operating on principle.
Local and state authorities, the same clowns shutting down businesses for over a year, claim powerlessness, but beg for more "border control" money. One governor sent 500 NG troops to the border...to observe. Big deal.
I don't see any state lawsuits versus the Feds to force enforcement, to force adherence to the laws and processes.
It's hard to escape the thought this is all a scam, a bi-partisan scam to benefit the US Chamber of Commerce. Meanwhile, no jobs for our domestic "poor"...

Mexico you think so? Biden campaigned on that, well not really, for a year. It was no secret Biden was going to put out a big welcome matt for illegals.
