I’ve learned that, if I apply my natural cynicism and pessimism to anything that originated with leftists, I will almost invariably correctly predict the future. Nevertheless, there’s a small part of me that always hopes that things will get better. Perhaps that’s why I’m reading a lot into three reports on Friday about people pushing back on cancel culture.
The first story involves Piers Morgan, the British commentator. (snip) While 41,000 may have whined about Morgan, over 220,000 people had petitioned for Morgan to be returned to Good Morning Britain.
Those numbers are an excellent and much-needed reminder that cancel culture is driven by a vocal minority.

In the final scene of the Hollywood neonoir Chinatown, released in 1974, a character says to the disappointed private detective, “Forget it Jake, its Chinatown.” (snip) The latest Hollywood production, the highly touted interview by Oprah Winfrey, not as skillfully directed as the film by Roman Polanski with its intervals for 30-second commercial ads costing $325,000 every few minutes, has similar overtones of flawed vision, sanctimonious utterances, and nebulous climax. Cui Bono, who benefits? The interview has no happy ending, except for CBS and Winfrey, whose Harpo company received $9 million

"Everything about this bill is rotten to the core. This is a bill as if written in hell by the devil himself." So says Republican Senator Mike Lee about the Democrats' H.R.1 election reform legislation that promises to make permanent the 2020 election's unprecedented use of mass mail-in balloting — implemented with few voter authentication checks and done in the name of a health emergency (snip)
Watching Lee fret about the Democrats' planned takeover of elections is a bit like watching a child reading "The Scorpion and the Frog" for the first time.

A conversation on the academic performance of Black law students between two faculty members teaching at Georgetown following a Zoom session was recorded and posted online without their knowledge. As a result, one of them has been fired and tearfully apologized, while the other one is “on leave until the investigation by the Office of Diversity, Equity and Affirmative Action is complete,” for failing to react in outrage over what the Dean of the law school termed “reprehensible statements concerning the evaluation of Black students.” (snip) apparently it is “reprehensible” to truthfully discuss the academic performance of Black students

Sir Alexander Tytler was a Scottish advocate, judge, writer, and historian. Lord Tytler lived from 1747 until 1813; about the time of Washington, Adams, and Jefferson in America. Tytler was a professor at the University of Edinburgh. One of Tytler's most influential and proverbial historical writings was about the lifespan of countries operating under democratic republican governance. Tytler believed the life expectancy of a self-ruled nation was about 200 years.
Tytler was very dismissive about who holds the real power in a democratic republic or even a pure democracy. He felt these types of government do not last, cannot sustain themselves, and eventually crumble

On Thursday night, a masked Biden tottered down a long, empty hall to a podium. He then gave the most bizarre presidential address in American history. After a grim recital of “facts” about the last year, Biden emphasized multiple times that Americans had better take the vaccine – and be grateful to him for his amazing ability to get the vaccine to Americans. He also insisted that, vaccines or not, the government’s in control and can lock all of us up all over again. (snip) Biden kept saying that he was going to tell the truth. (snip) Do you know who says things like that? Someone who’s lying.

Now that the implications of the Harris/Biden administration are setting in, my Democrat friends (yes, I do have a few) are becoming very embarrassed. They bought into the propaganda that all the turmoil in Washington was created by the erratic and immoral behavior of Donald Trump. Their vote for Harris/Biden was a vote to return to normal. They didn’t realize that the Democrats weren’t offering a return to normal, they were offering the establishment of a “new normal.” (snip) My friends are belatedly realizing that the turmoil was not created by Donald Trump. It was manufactured by the Democrats, simply to win an election.

Is Joe Biden on the way out? By resignation, or by removal?
The answer to that question (based purely on my best guess) is plainly found in the wording of the 25th Amendment to the Constitution (assuming that document still counts for anything). Specifically, the answer is found in section 2, of the Amendment. This section states: "Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress."

The mainstream media — silent on the Marxist ideology, violence, and militancy of groups like Antifa and Black Lives Matter (BLM) — deceptively reported that the protests they inflicted on over 200 U.S. cities in 2020 were “mostly peaceful.” (snip) Given media complicity with radical groups, it’s not surprising that the Los Angeles Times dismissed Andy Ngo’s Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy as unserious, “supremely dishonest,” and “self-serving.”(snip) Ngo’s book is a riveting exposé of the background, structure and workings of the collectivist militant group

I’ll bet you haven’t heard this: more congenital anomalies/birth defects and emergency room visits were reported after getting a COVID vaccine in the U.S. than after any of the other 93 vaccine types in the CDC’s VAERS database. And more deaths than 92 other vaccine types.
Here is how COVID vaccines rank among 94 vaccine types in terms of reported post-vaccine adverse effects.
Congenital anomaly/birth defect: 1.
Emergency room: 1.
Death: 2.
Life threatening: 5.
“Serious” adverse effects: 7.
Hospitalized: 10.
Permanent disability: 12.
Total adverse effects: 15. (snip) COVID vaccines have been around for less than three months. Most of the other 93 vaccine type have been in use for years

Since before the November 2020 event masquerading as an election, conservative pundits have been theorizing that mentally deficient and rapidly declining Joe Biden is merely a placeholder for the eventual rise to power of Kamala Harris (snip) Now that the Biden/Harris regime has been installed, the left has only to wait a decent, or indecent, amount of time for Ole Joe's decline to become too obvious to cover up (snip) Kamala Harris currently enjoys the best of both worlds; behind the scenes, she exercises all the powers of the presidency without having to publicly carry any responsibility for the results.

During the four years of Trump’s presidency, the leftists were free to go crazy with their theories because they never had to put them to the test: Believe all women? Check. Women deserve special privileges? Check. Men who claim they’re women really are women? Check. Democrats are the workers’ party? Check. Democrats are the Black party? Check. Open borders are good? Check. Now that Democrats control the entire federal government, though, and can set policies, leftists are discovering that many of their most beloved theories cannot coexist. The inevitable clashes will create opportunities for conservatives.
