Former president Donald Trump emerged from 38 days of self-enforced silence for a lengthy speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Orlando, Florida, that was frequently interrupted with boisterous applause and chants from an adoring, mostly white and older crowd.
He was spot-on in his indictment of the five-week-old Biden administration, accusing the new president of lying about his "radical far-left" agenda during the campaign. Predictably, he also slammed the "fake news" for what he said was their assistance in covering up that agenda.

While watching the live feed, the thought of the color of the skin of those in attendance never once crossed my mind.
I guess Cal looks at things differently than we do. This obsession with color is destroying out country.

Cal Thomas was going so swimmingly until he fouled it up with his lie about debunking the in-you-face obvious, indisputable, election fraud.
Little Cal Thomas just can't help himself. Trying to put President Trump down really emphasizes Cal's pettiness.

I didn't have to go beyond the first line where he felt compelled to write "mostly white and older crowd" - to realize that Cal, too, has sold out.

FTA: How does his slamming fellow Republicans who admittedly have criticized him, foster unity in the party?
He's asking this of the wrong person. He should ask the Rs who voted to impeach Trump how their vote and their hateful attacks on DJT unify the party.

Someone needs to tell Cal that CPAC is not attended by mostly older people, white or otherwise.
The whole article had a surprising amount of untruth in it. Who put a bee in his bonnet?

Trump is Trump. You can't cherry-pick just the parts you like. The good far outweighs the "bad."

Mostly older crowd? I don’t know what he was watching but I saw a lot of very happy, enthusiastic young people.
There may yet be hope for Gen Z and millennials.

I have nothing but contempt for Democrats, but I have even more contempt for those Republicans and conservatives who assert that Biden "won" that election honestly. Credibility: zero.
And Trump had record-setting support among voters who are not "mostly white."
Cal Thomas is another one of the tired old guard fading away.

Cal Thomas has repeatedly dinged Pres Trump for the latter's personality. What Cal doesn't appreciate, possibly, is that a huge swath of the American people like Trump, Trump the man, a lot. And they have elected him twice. Cal's acting like he needs someone who can prove himslef to run. Any suggestions, Cal? And, if Cal wants a muted personality, he will not get an election win. Not now. Cal is really minimalizing, as so many are doing in D.C., the National Ticked Off Factor.
And, Pres Trump was entirely justified in calling out his RINO enemies. They did that, they turned on him, FIRST and FREQUENTLY, for specious reasons. It is time that politicians are held accountable; for, guess what? For Their OWN behavior. Trump is brave and correct to do it. Cal Thomas has very thin skin, I guess. Where's Cal been dining all these years?

These people really have swallowed the dem talking point that charges of election tampering were debunked. Debunked by whom? Nothing was ever investigated, but I guess if you tell the lie long enough, it will become the truth.

The election was STOLEN. We all know this. Biden-Ho is an illegitimate president. Marxists are destroying America and our leader can be found at Donaldjtrump.com

Cal Thomas still lives in the swampy good old days of DC where the Republicans get a turn, then the dems get a turn, and reaching across the aisle as is standard operating procedure for Republicans only. Well, Pres. Trump is right to blast at the RINOs, we need them to get on the Trump train or get OUT!
And nobody will ever convince me this election was not stolen. Shame on every court that refused to even hear the massive evidence. We need the truth to prevail. Why do so many hate the truth?

He had some valid observations. While some may not agree with all of his points at least some of them are starting points to facilitate discussion. We have got to get past this political tribalism if we are going to get this country turned around. I am a registered Republican but I have to say I’m not impressed with the party right now and it’s so called leaders. The republicans in my state didn’t even bother to debate or even run ads since they were so sure they had a lock on re-election. That doesn’t sit well with me. I’m looking at ALL the candidates running in the midterms....and not just the republicans. These people work for US and they need to be reminded of that.

Is Cal afraid he'll lose his job or be sued if he ever admits in print he believes the election was stolen? I'm starting to think there are a lot of Conservative pundits out there who have been "warned"!
