Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont, the lawmaker tapped to preside over President Trump's impeachment trial, has been hospitalized, his spokesman said.
The 80-year-old Senate president pro tempore was taken to a local hospital and is under observation after he complained that he did not feel well after overseeing the swearing-in of senators as jurors in the trial earlier Tuesday.
"This evening, Senator Leahy was in his Capitol office and was not feeling well," Leahy spokesman David Carle said in a statement.

I think Leahy just realized that his name will forever be tied to this unconstitutional kangaroo court.
Yeah, I would be pretty ashamed too, and try to find any "out" at this point!!!

Trump Curse. It’s not superstitious.....it’s real!
Wait til you see his ultimate revenge.
Mark my words! Trumps legacy as the founding Father of the Patriot Party, a viable and successful political party based on Tea Party and MAGA principles, will far outweigh anything he has or would have accomplished as President.

About half the Senate is age 70 or more. While many people stay healthy well into their 80s, the odds are that some of them will not.

#3 Governor Scott is a RINO in the mold of Baker, (MA) and Hogan (MD). He would probably appoint a Democrat to appease the lunatics that run Vermont.

This is the end of the GOPe...
It is the end for these five who voted upholding this Unconstitutional trial: Sens. Mitt Romney of Utah, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Ben Sasse of Nebraska and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, who is serving his last term.
No surprises, were there. It is time to destroy the GOP...whether through "civil war" to reform, or "walk away" should a legitimate new party emerge. Who with the necessary political gravitas will step forward to lead the new party...and it won't be PDT.

Pelosi is going to kill him. Let’s see if Harris takes over the impeachment farce.
In VT vacancies are filled by a special election so republicans could regain control for a short time .

Didn't feel good. Short of breath. Doc recommends hospital. Covid? What if Leaky has Covid, goes on a ventilator and lives in an ICU for over a month like so many there Covid victims. Even if he recovers, he will need rehab. What if Chuckie is Majority leader with a minority? One knows Leaky will never resign. It would be O Henry irony if Covid ruined about 60 days of the Dem majority in the Senate right when they are gearing up for massive destroy America policies. Leaky dies and a REbublican is appointed since the Goobernor of Vermont sees how destructive Biden and the Dems are. Maybe...

Whatever you do, don’t give him hydroxychloroquine. Might help him to survive, er, it is a deadly and unproven treatment. Try instead some things that haven't been proven to help.

He offers free training as grass roots lobbyist/activists regarding [i believe] corp/political/techno cancel culture.
IIRC, Weds 27th Jan starts the 1st free training session----- on line 7-10 pm.
AFAIK, the session will repeat in future go-rounds.
