It was the kind of story that would once have had Matt Drudge deploying font sizes that newspapers used to reserve for declarations of war. On Oct. 14, Twitter and Facebook blocked users from spreading a New York Post article alleging that Hunter Biden had brokered meetings between his father, then the vice president of the United States, and executives at a Ukrainian energy firm where the younger Biden held an $80,000-a-month sinecure. The Post’s article included photos of what appeared to be an exhausted and intoxicated-looking Biden in various states of undress.

I do not believe Drudge sold out because the new owners would be doing a lot more to bring in traffic. I believe Drudge has simply lost it and is no longer relevant due to his mental decline.

Oh yeah, Drudge - I remember him. That was a long time ago, before the days of the Bongino Report, Liberty Report, Beige Page, and Whatfinger.

I used to visit the DRUDGE REPORT daily; now I take a quick peak once in a while ( every two weeks ) just to see if it has moved back to balanced reporting.

Gave up on Drudge quite some time ago. As with FOX I have not, I will not be back. I don't care what their explanation is. It's like New Coke. Why the hell did you go down that path? But unlike New Coke they will not drop their new programming/personalities and they will turn their back on the very people that made them successful. I have missed Drudge and I will miss FOX but there are new choices out there and I intend to check them out. When Joe Scarborough pulls in more views than Fox & Friends you know you are in trouble.

Two other great alternatives to Drudge are rantingly.com, revolver.news, and citizenfreepress.com. We have a wealth of good news aggregators. I never go to Drudge any more.

I will always be grateful to Drudge because that’s where I found Lucianne. But I quit going to his site years ago when it became too much of a tabloid. Glad I left when I did.

Worthless article. We all abandoned Drudge when it became obvious that he'd abandoned us. But the report merely states what we have all known for the better part of a year - it simply doesn't answer our question as to WHY.

I used to visit Drudge right after I finished on Lucianne. But it's ben a few years since I've been there. I always thought Drudge was a bit Weird, and sometimes there was no Rhyme or Reason to his Headlines. So, I decided I no longer needed Drudge in my life! Interesting Article, but a bit longer than necessary!

FTA"One of the few ex-Drudge associates who would discuss him on-record in any depth is the New York literary agent Lucianne Goldberg...It’s a totally different publication, she told me. What was the biggest sign? I asked. Oh, every line of the page.
The work behind the scenes became perfunctory. Just linking to whatever articles seemed sensational. The information also got stale. And some of the links are broken - no one is working on clean up.

Like most of us here during the Clinton years, I looked forward to reading Drudge, especially the red-lit articles he highlighted. It was fun to do, and usually very informative. He will be remembered as the editor who DIDN'T sit on the blue dress. I wish him well, but I don't necessarily need to know why his site has gone dark. Best wishes to Matt.

Drudge WAS my first and last click of the day for probably a decade. Rantingly has filled Matt's shoes for the psst few years.
My personal theory is Matt leapt off the deep end into some nasty stuff and has been consumed by it. All the weird posts about sex robots and cults and wacko stuff most of us mere mortals never even dream of there for his last couple of relevant years pointed to some serious demons he may be dealing with. Money and power, is there anyone they can not corrupt?

We don't need him, or ANY personality. We just need CORE conservative principles deep within.

Up until fifteen or so years ago, I used to go straight to Drudge Report for my news content. At that time, I lost interest in it because Drudge's content had become so cluttered with stuff it started to look like the National Enquirer. Thankfully, an office colleague told me about Breitbart and Lucianne.com as two very top of the line news sources and that I should try. I tried these right away. And here I am fifteen years later and very grateful to be here and be around some very smart news gatherers and informed individuals.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

#2 -- Agree -- way too long. We all know that he sold out about 2-3 years ago. He's off spending his money somewhere and doing God knows what (he was always a very quirky eccentric guy). But honestly, what goes up, must come down and the Drudge Report is down...haven't logged onto it since 2017.

Drudge was my homepage for years, beginning when he silenced Newsweek and made Lewinski a noun. A real turncoat. Imagine if he had done the same with Hunter. (But I also wish the president had called out Facebook and its ban of the NY Post during the debate.|

My worry is the ultra rich are all in the pockets of Democrats (actually reverse that) and they are big supporters of The Great Reset because it makes them much richer. So they will make an offer that can't be refused to any opposition.

What happened to Drudge? My best guess is most likely a deranged gerbil up his butt. Seems to have happened to almost everyone in the news biz these days. What else might explain their common affliction? Wildly twisting left. Always angry. Lost all sense of balance. Proudly biased.
I eagerly await their "headlines" (in 8 pt Wingding font) when the Supreme Court overturns the fraudulent election in favor of President Trump.

Thanks to Judy W. for the links to more news aggregators. Someone needs to make a website that just lists news aggregators. With a right hand side of the page and a left hand side. Put the left hand side in a medium gray font with a slighter darker gray background. And the right hand side in bold black and white. And only one commercial box. Just one! And it doesn't bounce, move, or start playing a video.

An extremely long read, filled with information most of us already know or had guessed. The headline is clickbait, leading the reader to believe that the Drudge site is officially calling it quits and closing down. I kept skimming down to get to the meat if the article until I realized there wasn’t any. It was nice to see Ms. Lucianne quoted, though.

Drudge has no politics? Rubbish. His politics may have changed with or without changes reflected in the site especially if he's no longer personally involved with it.
Some of us recall the too-brief Drudge radio & TV shows in which he mercilessly mocked Hillary Clinton for her hamfisted fakery ('I loved Arkansas') as he worked to derail her presidential aims before most of us had heard the name 'Barack Obama' and assumed - with dread - that Hillary would run in 2008.
Anyone surprised by Fox's lurch to the left in 2020 may have forgotten that Drudge left TV prior to 2010 after he planned to show the famous photo of a baby's tiny hand emerging from a C-section to hold an adult's finger. Drudge wanted to ask the simple question: 'What does this show us about life?' Fox either capitulated to the pro-abortion crowd or they were already members of it. Was Drudge's split with Fox a principled objection or was he just tired of the grind?

I think this is a clear example of physics. All things tend to disorder...increased entropy. While living in Colorado a wise friend passed this along to me and its application to life. He was living in a once wonderful neighborhood in Golden, Colorado. The quality of life in the neighborhood had slowly deteriorated. It was a slow but gradual decline and thus he was looking to retire and move elsewhere. He told me this was he thought a natural way of things. Drudge simply could not continue as a valued site of truth. This may be happening to America. See all of its once great cities.

FTA: “We are entering an era vibrating with the din of small voices,” a smirking Drudge told the National Press Club during an infamous 1998 appearance. “Any citizen can be a reporter.”
And there is a reason for that. All of us now carry in our pocket a smart phone that allows each of us to be photographer, writer, editor, and publisher on our own site. And with that same phone we are now also videographer, editor, producer, and live-streamer. The smart phone allows each of us to take up the mantle that newspapers, TV network news shows, and news channels either carelessly dropped or deliberately abandoned.
While Fox and CNN and CBSABCHBCMSNBC are presenting is with dumbed down (with some Tucker Dobbs exceptions) and opinion dominated content three steps removed from actual news, we can now select from dozens of live streamers who present live video of our cities being burned and looted. So much for Bagdad Bob. We now have CJTV. Furthermore, we also have multiple live stream aggregators who fill the role of producer, monitoring multiple live feeds and presenting the ones closest to the most action. And we can watch it all on our phones.
Free people hunger for truth, and we will go out and get it ourselves when those who once provided it to us walk away from their calling. We don't know why Drudge walked away from his. All we know is that he did. Not angry about it. If he made a bundle and now sits on a beach, good for him. But his site is no longer relevant. He predicted his own fate.

I found Lucianne through Drudge and the Clinton blue dress too.
This country received a gift from God. A leader like our Donald Trump the Great comes once a century. That Matt Drudge led the way to defeat our National treasure means he sided with the Prince of Darkness in battle when he was most needed. Same for Ann Coulter. The US will have to live with the consequences of their betrayal of Western Civilization. Shame, shame.

I often read the Drudge Report because it was for America and for Trump.
Now the Drudge report is for pervert, communist Biden, Kamala and crazy Hillary.
Kamala got to the top by sleeping with an old, blind man in San Francisco.
His poor wife divorced him.
Maybe Matt Drudge in in mental decline.
I never read his Drudge Report anymore!

Is Drudge even still alive? I don't see any references to interviews or personal face-to-face remarks. This looks like the Bible for a Suspense novel like the one Bond film where an American millionaire has his entire company taken over by Blofeld using a vocal synthesizer.
Not saying that happened, but it feels like it. Be a lot easier to do today, what with all the video programs that can map composites of characters and people over actors, to create false realities.
