After weeks of lockdown, several states have begun to outline plans for returning to business as usual. The economies in these states don’t need political schemes. They simply need to be released from government chains.
Governments don’t create economies. It’s not only beyond their legitimate functions, it’s beyond their abilities. They need to stay out of the way and let the wisdom of markets steer us back to normal. But some officials see an opening through which they can drive their big government dreams.
For instance elected officials in California, which is likely to be the last state to fully

I'm tired of people looking to Gov't for the solutions. We the People need to stand up against tyrannical Gov't "rules".

The government can sure kill the economy though. I'm angry about this shutdown which has caused untold harm to the country. I'm more anxious than ever to vote many politicians out of office. Number one on my list is the Democrat governor.

Its quite obvious that government at all levels has compounded the pandemic problem with their shutdowns.
The government would be wise to get out of the way before they get moved out of the way. People have had enough of this.

If the economy was a car the Gov't would be like a back seat driver with a brake pedal.

Of course it doesn't. But to get it reopened so people can take care of business, it might needs some help from Trump getting the Jackboots out of our faces. Those governors don't want to let go of that power grab.

So far, pink armbands to be allowed to eat and one-way sidewalks share the top of the popularity list. I'm waiting before I call the winner of the "most ridiculous" list. The only sure bet is that he or she will be a democrat but that's stating the obvious.

The very idea of government, any government, helping the economy is ludicrous. The government is like a giant leech stuck to the side of an economy. The bigger it gets the more economic blood it sucks. Government by its very design can only hinder an economy, or portions of it, not help it. This is not to say that governments have no useful functions.

Our Constitution is basically about the government getting out of the way. Brings to mind Reagan's twelve most frightening words "I am from the government and I am here to help you".

In my most humble opinion, THE PEOPLE will decide when this economy opens up. We are a free people! We weren't given our rights by mayors, governors, congress or even our capable President. We were given freedom by God. We do have free will. We choose to obey the many despots across this country. That said, am I willing to go to jail because Governor New-Some-but-not-much? No.
We will turn the tide as the projections and prophecies of the "experts" are turned on their heads. So far, none of the scarfs and little people have been right. The engine of our economy will get moving when the people stand up and say, "Enough!" I don't believe even the Schumer/Pelosi bribe of higher unemployment checks through July will stop the enduring, determined American spirit of sane people.
We will come back...might take time, but it took time to crawl out of WWI and WWII. The freedom of this land cost many lives. The SPIRIT OF AMERICA lives on in us!!!
KAG!!! GET AMERICA BACK TO WORK!!!! Thank you, President Trump! Thank you, Vice-President Pence!
Thank you, American people!!!

The Economy Doesn’t Need Government ‘Help’ To Reopen.
Truer words were never spoken. In most states the state and big city governments need to get out of the way. This is never more true than where power hungry politicians imposed outrageous draconian mandates that all but killed the economies under their jurisdiction.
I hope the people remember these police state tactics and get rid of these tyrants at the earliest opportunity.

What really sucks is to live in a blue state in which only the governor is blue, and that's only because of the big bathroom bill fight of 2016. The president won bigly here, as did the conservative assembly, however we got stuck with a lib governor whose hands have been tied for 3 1/2 years, until now.
I guess we should consider ourselves lucky we can still buy garden plants. #REOPENNC

“When Alexander the Great visited the philosopher Diogenes and asked whether he could do anything for him, Diogenes is said to have replied: ‘Yes, stand a little less between me and the sun.’ It is what every citizen is entitled to ask of his government.”
