A gunman in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia killed at least 17 people, including a policewoman, during a 12-hour rampage, authorities said on Sunday, in the worst act of mass murder the country has seen in more than 30 years.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said the gunman, 51-year-old Gabriel Wortman, who worked as a denturist, appeared at one stage to have been wearing part of a police uniform. He had also painstakingly disguised his car to look like a police cruiser.
Wortman shot people in several locations across the Atlantic province, police told a briefing, saying the death toll was more than 10.

This is shocking. Nova Scotia is such a peaceful, provincial place.

We need to find out what type of gun he used so we can call for a ban on AR15s.
Odd that so little is known and the usual presumptions when little is known have not been brought forward. The early bet, it won't fit the leftist narrative.

Wonder what might have happened if he came across an armed citizen?

No need to worry about an armed citizen in that gun controlled country....years ago, I traveled there to ride a scenic railway. Being a deputy sheriff then, I knew better than to try and cross the border with a weapon or ammo, but I did have a small 'Thin Blue Line' sticker on the trunk lid. It was noticed by their customs guy and they darn near tore the panels off the car doors looking for my gun. I went back several times after that, with a genuine search of my vehicle, by me, for any loose ammo etc, and removed any gun/police stickers.
Travel through Illinois gets the same treatment for stickers, but the gun gets locked in a under seat safe.

I thought Canada was a "gun free zone?"

This is such a strange senseless event. NS is a lovely place with good people. We have enjoyed our time there very much. Condolences to those who lost loved ones and prayers for those recovering.
I wish there had been a good guy with a gun. I bet I am not the only one.

1. The only reason Cabada's a relatively free country, is that its next door to the U.S.A.
2. Since Canada doesn't even allow its citizens to criticize its politicians - that 'relatively' is really relative.
3. Like other 'gun free' zones, Canada is an open hunting ground. Only the lower population density makes it difficult for a 'mass shooting' to happen.
4. Like every other Liberal controlled nation, you are SOL when you're in the vicinity of a nutcase with a weapon. You cannot defend yourself, you cannot defend your loved ones.
I am so glad and PROUD to live in the free United States of America, where, if someone goes off their rocker, or tries to use violence to get what they want we can defend ourselves and our loved ones, instead of huddling like defenseless sheep.

A "denturist"....okay. Wonder what his drug of choice was. Nova Scotia has long been on my bucket list and I see no reason to delete it at this juncture.

If a similar rampage killing took place in the US the killer would have to murder 140 people to achieve the same per capita score.

Does Canada have a second amendment? I'm just curious. My prayers are with the dead.
