In a Sunday interview with MSNBC’s “Kasie DC,” Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) called for $3.6 billion in funding to allow vote-by-mail in 2020 amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Coons noted people in the military and diplomats vote via mail and that President Donald Trump requested an absentee ballot for the upcoming election, advising if some states can vote entirely by mail, then it should not be an issue while there are shelter-in-place orders.
“It would ask us to give some flexibility to states in terms of match requirements and some dramatic additional resources, $3.6 billion,” argued Coons.

I was an observer once for a day of processing mail in ballots. The signature verification process is somewhat sketchy and the people doing it were good but no experts.

Just say NO to voter fraud. Why aren't the Democrats working diligently to help restart the economy? You already know why: widespread poverty, unemployment all work in their favor come the election. The next time Nancy Pelosi says Trump is a failure, remember how happy she was to show off her dozens of $12 pints of Jeni's ice cream.

Never trust a Democrat. These Democrats are always trying to pull a fast one. They will lie, cheat and will stab you in the back.

Translation: up to date computer rolls make our usual methods of fraud much harder, so we need to switch to ballot harvesting and destroying ballots from bad republican zip codes.

I vote with an absentee ballot. When I moved to this address, I sent a copy of my driver's license with the application for the absentee ballot.
The problem is that the roll books are not kept up to date. When I lived in NJ, there was a last page in the roll book for voter changes. The county would do what they needed to do after the election.
In PA, the voters tell us that their adult children had moved away several years prior but their names are still in the roll book. (Of course, the relocated voters don't bother to notify the county that there is a new address.)
When my (liberal) mother died 4 years ago, I sent a copy of the obit to the Board of Elections to have her name removed from the voter roll book.

Republicans... fight this with every fiber of your being - after we win in November and get the house back, pass legislation ordering voter ID, along with other provable standards of "who you are" for every FEDERAL election... congress, senate and Presidential... I know, this will be fought with full frontal assault by the democrats and maybe some libertarians, but... the fraud has got so bad and is being used to destroy the country... we need to focus on this for the preservation of our union.

What would ask you to dump a bunch of money onto states? Or are you just trying to say that your plan would require that money?
Match requirements? Dramatic additional resources? In other words, mo' money, mo' money.
This was supposedly an INTERVIEW, though. How about including the questions with the answers in the report.

Isn't this a state issue? In CA anyone can request a mail in ballot for any reason, been that way for years. However I never do, don't trust the system.

Why should the federal government pay for election theft by mail? Isn't it enough that the Dems trash the military votes by mail because they vote Republican?

Of course he does!!!!! This is the same Chris Coons who took the noble, wobbly Republican aside to have him cast a vote against Kavanaugh, and also made sure the man was accosted in an elevator by card carrying anti Kavanaugh types. NOT A MAN TO TRUST!!! He sounds good, but look at what he says....and does!

Why don't you vote electronically in the Congress, Mr. Coons? I am tired of seeing you take days for a vote. We don't need any voting reforms from the Democrat Party. Thank you. I am going to vote alright, and that vote is cast to be rid of Democrats.

Oh, I am so sure Trump will sign it in a heartbeat. But lets make no mistake and know that Mitch will bump it to $12.6B, just to prove he can govern in a bipartisan manner.

No way Coons, absolutely NO WAY do we want your fraud. Oregon and other states that already have this system need to abolish it, not further encase it in the cement of fraud.

Even if it were a good idea (which it is definitely not) there is no way our esteemed governments (federal, state, local) could possibly have it ready nationwide by the 2020 election.
