Michigan citizens have been flooding a petition at Change.org calling for the removal of Governor Gretchen Whitmer, accusing her of gross negligence and failures in handling the coronavirus pandemic.
The “Recall Governor Whitmer” petition alleges the governor’s measures, such as “closing and banning various non essential business’s [sic] and activities while leaving others open,” are actually “causing more Michiganders to get sick.”
Launched three weeks ago by John Powell, the petition has picked up steam in past days following the governor’s extension of a stay-at-home order and raising penalties for non-compliance to a $1,000 fine and/or six months in jail.

This is interesting, you have one Rat who let prisoners out of jail because of the pandemic and now you have another Rat who wants to put people in jail because of the pandemic. They should congratulate each other.

Well OP, she is stupid, arrogant, liberal, fails to hear her residents, lies, is a mini-Hitler, so I guess she qualifies...

Someone voted for this woman to be governor...and now they are finding that elections have consequences. Enjoy your slice of fascism, Michiganders.

Just wondering how many of that 200,000 voted for her? I've know Michiganders who were staunchly conservative, but it appears they are outnumbered. Wish them luck on the recall.

#4 That is precisely the problem. Detroit, Ann Arbor and Kalamazoo are liberal areas. The rest of the State is mainly conservative. It all hinges on turnout, however a lot of blue collar Democrats have turned against her. Hoping there are enough to oust her in the next election.

Wondering how many are robotic Dem voters, who now have the time off from their jobs to read up on, and actually see how their electeds respond. I hope many out of boredom now even catch a couple Rush shows, read on-line news and THINK for themselves instead of TV Talking heads at MSNBC telling them what to think, and are in situations where bad gov't policy now touches THEIR lives - and they can feel the damage always done to others. It's personal now. Here's to tiny revolutions smoldering in lock down houses everywhere.

Yes OP, somebody has told he she is being looked at as VP and her advisers also probably told her this is how you look tough as governor too. I think the worst of her ridiculous personal list of nonessential items is telling stores they cannot offer clothing and shoes for sale, and then attacking citizens who want to buy seeds to grow their own food.
I suspect that between the weather and the shutdown, growing one's own food this year makes a lot of sense.

Michiganders need to show a force of people not wanting to put up with this. Wear your masks, make some signs and get out into your streets. Tyranny doesn't start out with a club over the head. Do not go gentle into that good night.

#9, Good luck. Half Whitmer will probably have you all arrested if you have a rally.
To hell with the First Amendment's guarantee of "the right of the people peaceably to assemble"

No need to be a jerk, #3. Many of our citizens did not vote for the current governor. And the state GOP ran about the worst campaign with the worst candidate ever.
Take away Detroit and Michigan is deep red. So please stop smearing our beautiful state and its people for the actions of an urban and academic leftist mob.
Thank you.
And of course I signed the petition.

#3 Hmm. Must be conservatives always win in your state. Lucky you.
Didn't vote for her; signed the petition.

# 12 - Many may not have voted for Whitmer...more did and others were doubtless amenable to whatever the majority voted for. She won by 10 percent of the vote, a significant number. Michigan broke it; Michigan bought it.
Of course, as a consolation you can always come to Maryland and enjoy the Republicrat leadership by our esteemed Gov. Larry Hogan. It's no better.
