Earlier today, I posted several charts showing coronavirus fatalities in various countries in several formats. Many think that per capita mortality rates are the most relevant metric; ...Another worthwhile analysis would consider the common sense observation that the US, South Korea, and Europe had their first cases at roughly the same time. Therefore, I think it is informative to compare the per capita number of cases and deaths ...

The bar chart, to me, is a wonderful graphic to explain our position in the overall epidemic. Thank you for translating it. On the theory that No Headache is Small When It's Yours, I understand concern about each and every instance being noted. Personally, I was assured by a neighborhood clinic that I only had a slight upper respiratory infection but in my incipient borderline paranoia, maybe it is more than that. How can I know and when? The only person on the planet I feel is telling the truth is my President. He said it will be okay. Therefore it will.

That chart pretty much says it all. Hope that all of those amateur stock traders see it and that the market jumps 5,000 points today.
Thank you, President Trump!

Interesting...that the majority of deaths are from a senior facility in Washington state...I dug up some figures from the CDC back in 2017 that makes interesting reading...FTA: According to new estimates published today, between 291,000 and 646,000 people worldwide die from seasonal influenza
Read it yourself at: https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2017/p1213-flu-death-estimate.html
This 'pandemic' is nothing more than another attempt to bring down Trump...

As testing goes up the morbidity rate is going to go down.

"In my opinion, we have gone overboard in constraining normal economic and social activity"
Maybe. But how will we ever really know? If the occurrences and deaths are less in this country, is that because it never was that big a threat to begin with (for various reasons, some mentioned in the article) OR was it BECAUSE we "went overboard" in protective actions?
If we had chosen NOT to "go overboard" and the incident and death rates skyrocketed, overwhelming our medical systems that we KNOW are not ready for such a challenge, it would impossible to "fix" it. We are seeing such results in Italy, perhaps from other factors as well but no less dismaying.
The economic costs for the actions taken WILL be grave and perhaps not fully quantifiable. But balancing physical suffering and death against economic pain seems, to me, to fall to trying to minimize the physical suffering and death. Not all will agree. Many have shown a willingness to abort children for personal convenience. Others are happy to write off sick elderly as too costly to treat. Many working are people are at no great threat from the virus but are at threat from the economic shutdown. Some of them would make the selfish choice and not give it a second thought. Is there a "right" answer for the Country as a whole?

Do not read too much into this chart, because we do not yet know the progression of this virus in the US. There are some indications that in another 10 days, we may be where much of Europe is today.

And #6, many have shown a willingness to sit comfortably in a sports bar ordering “freedom fries” while fine young men and women are sent to their deaths on behalf of an ungrateful nation full of people who’ll hate us till the end of time and in the name of “national security.” The politicians have crashed the economy and millions of lives in order to save a few thousand people. Too bad they don’t consider that before sending kids (and trillions of dollars) to the worthless sand box in the ME. What we’re experiencing is NOT politicians concerned about saving lives (had to lol while writing that) it’s the elites flexing all over the little people and taking us one giant step forward to the impending civil war. Would love to see a journalist or blogger who is keeping score daily re: deaths in their state ... Covid-19 deaths vs. automobile accidents, heart disease, rape, murder etc.. FoxNews chyron at 10:30AM, 3/18/2020, reads “Covid-19 deaths in the United States surpasses 100.” That’s just one month of gunplay in Chicago, Detroit and Baltimore. Maybe we should throw up some concertina wire around those places and put them on lock down.

Shutting down the borders early, while still under that impeachment fiasco was a master stroke. That has delayed the spread a lot.
But, check back in six weeks, that will tell the tale. I think we will do well, our social distancing and taking it reasonably seriously seems to be really workiing......so far. Let's hope this is how it really goes.
