New York magazine’s Ed Kilgore recently offered up yours truly as a prototypical Trump supporter who has ignored the “key lesson from 2016.” Quoting an excerpt from an October article in which I suggested that impeachment enhances Trump’s 2020 prospects when combined with a strong economy and a weak Democratic challenger, he suggested that “triumphalist braying from Trump, his campaign, his party, and his media allies, will persuade some of his own voters that he’s already won, so it’s safe to spend Election Day in other pursuits.” Kilgore obviously believes that such complacency in the HRC camp caused Trump’s 2016 victory.
Kilgore, like many partisan journalists and the Democrats

A very liberal physical therapist I know said to me once that she couldn't understand why all of these people voted for Trump, so I gave her my observation. Why? In a very real way he offers hope to people who see their country being flushed down the toilet by people who offer nothing but admonitions that everything is our fault and that the only way it is going to get better is if you surrender our very being to them. One offers hope...real hope; not the Obama/Clinton brand... twenty of them offer nothing but accusations. Take your pick. She didn't say much after that.

I would never imply that Ed Kilgore found the biggest Wrong Stick in the world and beat himself half to death with it, no; I would say that Trump will win again because Putin will hold Bernie, Pocahontas, Joe, or Pick-Your-Favorite-Marxist voters in his Svengali-Vulcan Mind Meld grip once again and force them to vote for Trump, just like he did with Hillary voters in 2016. My tape measure STILL isn't measuring length correctly since Putin hacked it nearly four years ago, and it's a Stanley FatMax.

"so it’s safe to spend Election Day in other pursuits" "complacency "
Yeah, sure. That's why tens of thousands show up at Trump rallies, some getting in line days before. That's why Trump's fundraising is through the roof.
While a lot of the excitement is due to Trump, liberals are responsible for a lot of it as well. Every time they push another bogus attempt to GET Trump, they roil Trump's voters. We KNOW they will say and do anything to win and WE need to stand strong and fight back. The US military assures victory and peace through overwhelming strength and capability. We will win the election with overwhelming strength and capability. As the article states, Trump's team has been building their capabilities since Trump won in 2016. The dems have no hope of matching it. Of course there is the little matter that Trump's team is pushing obvious truth while dems are pushing obfuscation, lies, and fake news. AND, more and more voters are aware of that. We have reached a point where, when Trump speaks, most people think, "Maybe he has a point." or "That's probably true.". When dems/media speak most people think, "That's probably not true. What is their agenda?".
"it is unquestionably true that the latter was overconfident ... the main reason HRC was beaten is that she represented a status quo characterized by chronic corruption, anemic economic performance, and transparent contempt for the voters"
Yes, HRC represented the truth of the dem party, a truth that has only gotten worse and has been amplified by their hysteria and uncontrollable fury. The dems/media/Left are American hating, terrorist loving, power hungry, corrupt, criminal, unethical, incompetent scum. "Democrats can no longer be trusted with power" is the only rational conclusion. The only reason that any dems won in the last couple decades is that they lied about their intentions and enough people fell for their pretty words.
Trump will win in November, possibly in a landslide, and the dems STILL won't be able to do anything about it. Their entrenched behavior precludes self awareness and helpful change. The interesting question is, What will become of the dem party?

Hillary's main bragging point was that it was "her turn." Being a woman, a democrat and a Clinton was supposed to convince us that she could guide the greatest country in the world. Only feminists and idiots fell for that one The college professor on my street who taught Gender Studies was one of them and she hid in shame for months.

David, Trump won because Billary lost, remember? Trump won because rural America still has a voice in the political process. Hint - the Electoral College that prevents the dims' urban deep states from running the table during every election.

The democrats are completely fraudulent. Their positions have been demonstrated throughout history to have been utter disasters. There is no way they can win an intellectual argument or debate against solid fact based conservative view points. So of course they avoid fact based analytical engagement.
Their entire strategy consists of two elements, first they bribe the voters with other people’s money, and second, they demonize the opposition. That’s it, that’s all they have. Unfortunately they have been spectacularly successful with both prongs of their attack.
The suckers who have been brainwashed into thinking they can have other people’s money without other people modifying their behavior, and into believing their victims to be the personification of evil, justifying the theft, will never understand us. If they had the capacity to understand us and our positions they wouldn’t be leftists.

We will vote in this year's election for at least three reasons:
1. We like what President Trump is doing for our country.
2. We want to reelect President Trump in the largest landslide in history.
3. We want to replace democrats anywhere they appear on a ballot!
Get out and vote!
MAGA/KAGA!

I post over at NYmag/rag, so much fun to rattle the cages of the dem/lib posters. They unquestioningly believe everything the msm puts out. One of the writers at the mag turns out multiple anti Trump stories everyday.

After Trump won the election in 2016, and vanquished the universally hated Hillary Clinton, the democrats could have chosen to partner with him to share in the successes he's had. Instead they chose to engage in partisan hatred and obstruction at every turn. This should tell you all you need to know about the modern democrat party. They no longer care about what is good for America, only what they want for the democrat party.
People need to wake up, not be complacent and send the democrats to the bottom of the swamp.

I voted for Mr Trump because my brain has been filled with propaganda taught for over the last 2,000 years that abortion is the murder of a child. I guess 2,000 years worth of study and prayer by some of the smartest people ever was wrong.

Living in the People's Republic of East Hampton, NY, I don't know one of my Trump supporting friends (and there are a few here) that feel overly confident or even somewhat confident that Trump's re-election is in the bag. Indeed, we know given all of the Democrat election fraud, main stream medial voter suppression of conservative and republican voters, impeachment, and general everyday Democrat and media lies about Trump, that his re-election is anything but assured. We also know that if this group was willing to attempt a coup d'etat against a duly elected administration, they will stop at nothing to see Trump and we his supporters defeated and humiliated by any means necessary. Their hate knows no bounds. And that's exactly why every Trump supporter I know will work their butts off to get him re-elected even here in New York where winning the state will be impossible.

The most important day of this year, and, really, of the last 3 years will be November 3rd.
A whole lot of us will be totally focused on that day and that vote. All Republicans, all the way.
And I do believe that President Trump will be re-elected.

When people are clueless they usually remain clueless. Trump ran circles around Hillary and the rest of the Democratic field and the media. Don't forget he also ran laps around 20 Republican candidates. All put together these people were suppose have centuries of governing experience, but TRUMP BEAT THEM ALL HANDILY.
Trump's victory was a massive repudiation of our government and how it operated. Obama was anti-American, and people were sick of it. If something was bad for the United States, Obama was for it. Bush left much to be desired. He became a bunching bag which helped usher in Obama. The left ate Bush II's lunch. Clinton and Bush I rode on Reagan's successes. Clinton was too busy fooling around with women when he should have been governing. Bush I just coasted along, the left ate his lunch too, and he ended up having only one term.
During those years the United States were weakened economically, and our competitors and enemies became stronger. The President of the United States cannot be a spectator while everything is going on around them. Many people became aware of this, and saw the damage being done. How many jobs were lost? How many businesses shutdown or went overseas? Trump came along and provided a real alternative. People snapped at it.
If the left and all the Never Trump Republicans don't see it, all the better. It means they are still in the dark regarding what's going on in this nation. If they offer up the same old same old that has been offered up for the last 30 years, they will lose.
