It has now been just over two years since the Harvey Weinstein allegations were reported in the Times as well as in this magazine, in the early days of October, 2017. In the months that followed, accruing #MeToo revelations led to the downfall of producers, performers, and executives for long-employed tactics of harassment, intimidation, and assault. As these events began to unfold, it was gratifying to think that women in Hollywood might now be able to pursue their professional goals more fully, unharmed and untrammelled. But it also made me realize how much I have been gripped,

“Good authors too who once knew better words
Now only use four-letter words
Writing prose.
Anything goes.”

It's New Yorker. I have, in my old age, finally abandoned all effort to put up with things from NY city and state. A truly tiresome, foolish lot, and I just save myself a lot of trouble by avoiding anything from NY.
Yes, I know that there are a lot of good people there, but the majority are not good people, they are destructive, hateful, violent nutcase people and I just don't have time for them.

If you want to know about Robert Evans, skip this piece and read the one in the Los Angeles Times. She grabbed a fair amount of his history, nearly word for word, from Evans’s Wikipedia page.
He did not just sell slacks with his brother. His brother Charles Evans co-founded Evan Picone, one of the best-known women’s tailored clothing lines ever. Their specialties were beautifully designed and fabricated pants, skirts and jackets. Often sold as separates, but in the same fabrics. I wore a lot of Evan Picone and still have many pieces in my closet as they were high quality, excellent value, timeless designs. Their mother was the sales manager. Robert handled sales. Both became millionaires when the company was eventually sold to Revlon for $12 million cash.
Robert Evans may have been a playboy, but he was incredibly handsome and charismatic so one wonders how many women chased after him. He married a number of them - some of the most beautiful women in the world, starting with his first wife Ali McGraw, with whom he had his only child - a son.
Like #3, I can skip anything New York as the superficialty is stunning - and in this case, the accuracy is highly questionable.

In my list of attributes of many New Yorkers, I missed the most irritating one, their completely unfounded, self-righteous, obnoxious arrogance, their offhanded, mean spirited dismissal of anyone from 'fly over country'.
Texas arrogance is at least partially tongue-in-cheek, and partly legitimate, usually good natured. I have never lived in Texas, have no relatives from Texas, and no question, sometimes Texans can get a bit over the top, too.
But I'd rather be around 1,000 Texans than one New Yorker. And yes, I know a few good folks from NY, really, I do. It's just that 95% of the rest of them give them a bad rep.
