In l’affaire Ukraine, the president is guilty as charged. And the best strategy for him to avoid impeachment by the House and perhaps even removal by the Senate is to admit it, apologize, and let voters make their own judgment. It’s also the best way to fend off a disaster for Senate Republicans.

there was a time I had a fair amount of respect for Jonah. I fear that time has passed. Trump did nothing in the "infamous phone call", my quotes, to trigger an impeachment inquiry let alone an inquiry. To say just confess and throw yourself on the mercy of the Democrats is nothing short of insanity. I think living in New York has rotted his brain and left him a mere shell of his former self. Sad to see it in one so young and someone once so promising.

Oh, puh-leez ... has Jonah learned absolutely nothing watching decades of the conniving shenanigans of the dems/progressives? An "apology" to that den of liars, crooks, and thieves would be viewed as an admission of guilt and used to toss Trump out of Washington on his butt.

Goldberg is a total idiot. When is he going to apologize for his constant anti-Trump rhetoric and his constant lies about the President. He is just another GOPe apologist and people like him are the reason our country sunk to the low level it did prior to President Trump. He and Romney should just go to a rubber room and beat their heads against the walls, the end result would be better than what the two of them are producing now with their pathetic rhetoric.

Jonah explains -when the Democrats move to public hearings or to a Senate trial. And when that happens, claims that the call was “perfect” and that there was no quid pro quo will evaporate in the face of the facts.
So, I'll just bookmark this page and shove it back in his smug little face after this is over.

I've read the transcript, and nothing was wrong. Looked like normal banter between two presidents.
And, I read the opening statement from Lt. Col. who simply expressed concern outside influences were possibly going to upset the bipartisan support in Congress (presume he was referring to the letter from the 4 Democrat Senators insinuating Ukraine may not have such support from Democrats should they investigate 2016).
I hope Jonah is very concerned with that letter from 4 Democrat Senators essentially threatening the Ukrainians with no support if they didn't play ball, but I doubt it.
In fact, Vindmann didn't say much of anything from what's being mentioned, or you would have heard it by now.
Ukraine found 2 people guilty of interfering in the 2016 election on behalf of Hillary's campaign.
Crowdstrike is located in Ukraine, and they seem to be who the DNC turned over their server after it was compromised, and James Comey just took their word for what happened without ever reviewing themselves.
Believe that was the same server that the Awan brothers had access to, whom 40+ Democrat House members used for their IT services. So, the potential for lots of material that would be compromising.
And, yet, Jonah thinks President Trump should apologize?

I'm sorry you folks weren't smart enough to figure a way to drag Hillary Clinton through the finish line so that you could continue to line your pockets, build your power, enrich your families, and siphon the American Dream away from millions of Americans. My humblest apologies to you all.

The democrats are accusing Trump of targeting a political opponent, the democrat front runner at the time, for investigation intended alter the likely outcome of the 2020 presidential election, not targeting the admitted corruption of the vice president from the previous administration, as I believe was the case. In most criminal proceedings, one of the elements of an offense is the "culpable mental state" of the person being accused, which applies to intent. If so, then it wouldn't hurt the president's cause to address the American people and state exactly what his intentions were and are and perhaps apologize for his true intentions being grossly misinterpreted by his hard left opposition in Congress and the media. Public opinion matters in an impeachment, which is why democrats haven't gone on record as supporting impeachment. Rallying public support, which the president is surely capable of doing, may be his best way of avoiding the stain of impeachment and putting his presidency in the hands of squishy Republican senators. There doesn't appear to a downside in doing so but plenty of upside.

Jonah is a 50-year old tubby toddler in Star Trek footie pajamas, passed out on the couch, drunk on Pop-Tarts and soy lattes, a Smart car parked in the driveway and Liberace on the restored hi-fi he bought on Craigslist from some other lame beta male hipster nerd. Trump’s list of things to apologize for:
- being white

- being American
- being wealthy
- being conservative
- not being a Dimocrat
- outing Joe Biden’s corruption
There’s plenty more, but that’s a good start.

Mr Goldberg got hit by the 'cookoo's nest'. What a fool. There are two treaties in place between the U.S. and Ukraine to investigate 'possible' ( hah !) corruption when it affects the other Nation. Trump followed the law , even if he had coreced the President of the Ukraine to investigate Biden's activities, which BOTH parties on the call deny happened. Trump's Ukranian counterpart stated he felt NO COERCION.

I'm sorry to be the first to suggest it but I fear that Jonah has graduated from Scotch to pure grain alcohol. First of all, you don't apologize for something you didn't do unless you are trying desperately to get into someone's pants. Secondly, Donald Trump does not have to do or say anything to hurt Old Joe. The dunce is walking into the quicksand all by himself. Johah, please, give it up.

"Wrongdoing" Apologize for "wrongdoing."?
What we've been witnessing (as many have rightly described) is a Soviet-style interrogation+show trial assault on President Trump. And for those who so hate the POTUS, hating him isn't enough. They aim to destroy all who are associated with him, too.
By the time a "trial" began in the USSR, the accused had been thoroughly broken (haven't we been watching this happening before our eyes?), by the time the beaten and broken accused (so many True Believer old Bolsheviks and purist Marxists) they were ready to sign anything, admit to anything, grovel and beg for forgiveness for their "wrongdoing."
The Dems qua old Chekist interrogators are trying to break Trump down, rattle his family, destroy colleagues and intimidate those who voted for him and will vote for him again. For three gory years of non-stop harassment and an utterly failed Russia-Collusion fiasco (did Jonah beseech Trump to apologize for some Russia Wrongdoing?) … I strongly doubt that ANYONE else could have stood up against this, virtually alone, save for a few true loyalists WITHOUT descending into tyrannical retaliation. He just gets to work every morning.
So far, we have not seen any wrongdoing. U n l e s s you consider his inelegant style of speaking, tweeting, his hair, his bombastic rallies, etc etc...
The ONLY ones who need to apologize are Schiff, Shallowell (okay, Swalwell), Nadler, Schumer, Pelosi and all the rest, and the corrupt, venal media, and the handful of weaklings of the genus Pierre Delecto et al.

Your hatred of Donald Trump is making you crazy. Settle down have a cup of tea and think about what you are saying. The President of the United States should apologize for setting foreign policy which is his job, apologize for wanting to clean up corruption that apparently has been committed unabated for at least 20 yrs if not longer by a man supposedly so revered by a democrat party so lost in socialism that it thinks Mao was a good guy. You need some therapy, there is no rhyme or reason to your positions anymore. You are truly a lost soul. Got help.
