Democrat Congressman Joaquin Castro, represents a district that encompasses San Antonio, Texas.
Using his twitter account today, Representative Castro posted a list of local donors to the Donald Trump campaign directing his followers to target those ordinary citizens. [Tweet here]
Pay close attention to this current method of political targeting; and overlay the law of unintended consequences to the current gun control discussion surrounding “redflag” laws.
Ultimately what far-left Joaquin Castro is doing is exactly what will happen when arbitrary rules of defining people for targeting are pushed into law. History is full of examples where this exact process was used. None of those examples ended well for those

FTA:
Political targeting is exactly what President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder were doing when the DOJ requested the donor contribution lists, “schedule B’s”, from the IRS (Lois Lerner) so they could generate their ‘secret research project‘ targeting list. These actions are directly, openly, publicly and specifically, the weaponization of government.
This is the long-standing ideology of the of the political left. It is a short walk from starting a secret research project; creating files through surveillance, generating lists of citizens and posting them in the public square; to eventually making people wear armbands. The purposes are EXACTLY the same.

This is exactly why the push for 'Red Flag' laws. Remember the Soviets used 'mental health' to lock up and punish political opponents.

Ah . . . the Left . . . never racist . . . never bigoted . . . always tolerant . . . always open-minded. (That's sarcasm, BTW, in case I wasn't obvious.)
THIS . . . is what we've come to in America. Disgusting.

So Mr. President, is this what you had in mind when you advocated for "redflag" laws?

And this is why I posted on an earlier article, I could only support the "Red Flag" if it included penalties for false reports.
If someone reported another for specious reasons, political or personal animosity, they should cool their heels in prison, for a long time.

Any sort of "red flag" law will be distorted by Democrats and used as an attack on people, just like what this Congressman seems to have done.
This is beyond reckless and even sensible Democrats should reject this type of attack.
Wonder if he sent this on official government computer, or smart phone?
Wonder if the people on that list can file a lawsuit against this guy.

I spoke with my Senators' offices today about this, and told them it is fraught with peril. Who gets to say that you or I are too unstable or dangerous to possess a weapon; some bureaucrat? Where is the talk of guaranteed due process from anyone on the left? We're seriously going to consider stripping someone of a constitutional right? based on WHAT evidence? Let's be careful here.
I think any reasonable person agrees that the two miscreants from last weekend (along with most of the other attackers) should never have had the ability to purchase/own a weapon. The problem, of course, is how to prevent them without infringing on my rights. Frankly, the leftists have proven themselves unworthy of any trust on this matter.

Anyone expressing any sort of a self defense concept online - targeted as a 'probably violent person' and all gun rights removed.
This is a VERY, VERY bad idea.

Me, I think we should follow their lead and publish big facsit donor names' and then protest those leftist. Imaging how quick leftist will demand 'prvacy'? Once that happens, suddenly hard left facsist Dems will pass a bipartisan law stopping all this. Nothing moves a liberal to protect rights like liberals being exposed to public ridicule.

We're on a very dangerous path. And it's sad that there are no Dems who dare to condemn these vitriolic threats against fellow citizens of the other Party.
I never heard Donald Trump, before he was elected or since his election, ever ridicule or verbally attack or threaten to harm in any way the citizens who voted against him. And yet, this is what the Dems are doing, have been doing, for a really long time.
The Republicans had a nascent activist wing of the Party during the TEA Party days. The BO regime cleverly neutralized it by using a strong arm of the Government, the IRS. TEA Partiers were neat and tidy, never destroyed anyone's property, even improved the terrain wherever they convened, they never threatened physical harm or expressed the desire to destroy the lives and livelihoods of their opponents.
On the other hand, the activist wing of the Dems is radical, composed of mindless followers, conscienceless and violent people. Try talking to them. see the facial features contort. What's behind the mask is evil. This is the Left. This is the Left everywhere and every time, always.
Their behavior can lead the way to "civil war", by fanning the flames of resentment and vengeance which feed hatred. This is the behavior seen in Third World countries. The cycle of revenge is almost impossible to stop once blood is spilled.
Red-flagging, however it's done, how different is that from making the Jew in Germany sew yellow stars on their clothing so they could be watched and targeted and their businesses looted and ultimately destroyed, and then eventually rounded up... while good people stood off to the side in amazement then fear then acquiescence and participation.
Not one Democrat politician has dared to condemn the profoundly violent rhetoric spewed by their fellows or called for an end to their irrational hatred aimed at the President.

This kind of abuse is why I think we're going to end up in a Civil War before its over.
