The Director of Community Engagements for Massachusetts Citizens for Life claims that Facebook has labeled a quote by St. Augustine as hate speech. In a blog post, Domenico Bettinelli wrote, "Facebook has repeatedly banned a quote from St. Augustine every time I’ve posted it. And it’s not some fire and brimstone 'Sinners are going to hell!' quote, but in fact, quite the opposite."
Pulled from one of St. Augustine's homilies included in the Roman Catholic Church's official liturgical books, the offending quote is this:

I have not been on FB for many many years and intend to keep it that way. Between their left wing hostility to Conservatives as well as the invasion of privacy and collusion with the democrats to advance their agenda, I just can not participate in my own destruction and the destruction of my country.

I understand the frustration of people who are getting unjustly censored on the social media giants, but I'm totally against any government action. There already is a perfect antidote...leave. Just like that. Leave. And send an email to their CEO and Board telling them why you left. And get everyone you know to leave.
As more people do this, competitors will arise who don't drive away half their customers. This works. Do it.

It should be obvious by now that the Left has targeted Christians and Jews for delegitimization and marginalization since religion has its standards of behavior, and the Left "don't need no stinkin' standards" by which to be judged. THEY will be the JUDGE not the Judged, in the "new order." One wonders how many duped fools make up the F membership today.

Regulate them either as limited liability public utilities or fully liable publishers. In-between status doesn't work.

Its pretty simple really. All you have to do is begin each quote with ' We hate Republicans' and end each quote with 'Vote democrat' and you can post anything you want in between. Facebook is very particular about who they allow to be hated and who is protected. As far as the St. Augustine quote, its probably some anti-Christian algorithim causing the blockage.

Facebook is so entangled in its internal biased logic that it probably takes their programmers months to find the piece of code that causes any given post to be erased. They should be restricted to a dictionary of truly offensive words that we all would like to see banned but the erasure of ideas goes directly against the First Amendment. I agree with the solution of not using it at all. If I want cat pictures I can find them anywhere. The loss of every single user deprives Zuckerberg of some ad revenue.

It's hate speech in the same sense of any christian/socialist/Muslim interaction is:
It asks someone to reflect on their own imperfections, rather than obsess about other people's imperfections.
They dare not look in the mirror...

I deleted my Fakebook account about 15 years ago because it creeped me out. I started getting attempted “friending” by guys I dated back in the 60s and had not even thought of in the following decades. The final kicker was someone asking me to stand up for Planned Parenthood. I also do not participate in any other social media.
If my scattered family members want to show me photos, they text them to me. If we want to give each other information or have a conversation, we pick up our phones and actually speak to one another.
Social media is entirely superfluous.

Of course Facebook banned this awful quote. We must focus on the Holy Temple of Me which, in this world of My Truth is Truth, cannot allow us to deny ourselves a smiley face for literally everything we do. Aaaahhh, the wonderful world of post-modernism.

Wow #17 out of the park! That is exactly the point, St Augustine's message is the antithesis of the left who see themselves as some superior generation above our founding fathers, the brilliance of the enlightenment and ancient Greece. It's as if they were beamed down from some distant planet to bestow wisdom and knowledge upon the lowly earthlings.

In DemSpeak, we are all victims. Victims are helpless and cannot be held accountable for their actions. The only self-examination warranted is the determination of just how victimized you are.

FTA: Father Hines requested a "human review". (You have to ask for a human to define the inhuman biases.)
I read the definition of "algorithms" - a set of well-defined instructions in sequence to solve a problem.
So the algorithms are inhuman, but there must be humans who write the instructions for them and what kind of biases do these humans beings have? And does Facebook only hire people with the same biases?
That would suggest a lack of diversity at Facebook.

Apparently Facebook wants to remove the concept of sin from society. They have so jumped the shark.
What will our masters at Facebook say when the news is Sniper kills 10 or youths go rioting and looting? What will they say about billionaire child molesters? What will they say about genocide? What will they say when election fraud steals election? It goes on and on.
One does not ignore the sin in human nature.

Just one more piece of evidence that "Hate Speech" to Progressives generally means speech that they hate.
