AMLO knows there is no way for Mexico to begin retaliating against the U.S. after President Trump demanded they step-up migration travel enforcement or face U.S. tariffs on Mexican imports. There’s no way for Mexico to take on Trump economically; and they would be foolish to try… All business interests in Mexico will take a financial hit as soon as the stock market opens tomorrow: [Tweet Link]
No doubt Mexican Foreign Minister Jesus Seade will reach out to Jared Kushner for relief/assistance; but don’t look for President Trump to change on this issue until he sees substantive actions taking place. Trump knows AMLO has a tendency to play

Ever been pinched? Hurts doesn't it. The only reason we have a couple thousand foreigners walking into our country every DAY is that they are walking through Mexico. And if the corporations that set up their plants and warehouse in Mexico don't like the extra 5%, charge them 10%

Trump should have an "urgent" golf game, or perhaps a manicure appointment which
just CANNOT be rearranged.
This appears to have gotten the Mexican's undivided attention. Perhaps he can
focus on actual results this time? Like NO MORE Hondurans and Guatemalans
showing up on our border?

It's instructive to see who is more concerned about the stock market than the threat to national security, as well as the threat to the safety of Americans on the street!
The stock market can sustain temporary hits just fine and will bounce back, no matter what. The sovereignty of our nation, lives of our citizens, and the national treasury are much, much more important!

I just had a great idea.
The Mexicans should be required to build a US-specification wall on the border the whole way, at their
own cost. No US judge can stop that.

#5 Hubs is retiring in about 6 months and I'm nervously watching the market while at the same time knowing that what you are saying is spot on. Our sovereignty IS more important, but we still need what's in Hubs' retirement account to live on. Hoping this mess is resolved quickly.

Chances are Mexico will not have to retaliate against President Trump and the USA because the UniParty US Congress will essentially side with Mexico and against Trump’s efforts to stop mass fraudulent and unlawful immigration coming across the borderline. In fact that has been happening since Trump was elected. Remember the out of control borderline is generating millions of future foreign born socialist oriented future Democrat voters, and unlimited numbers of cheap foreign laborers for Republican business interests thus lowering labor costs in those industries and enriching the Republican supporting investor class. Right now it is President Trump against the self-serving UniParty Congress.

PDJT should use these tariff monies to build the Wall, in effect having Mexico pay for it. Maybe that was the plan all along. As long as Mexico makes the presence of a wall necessary, bill Mexico in the form of tariffs. He can use the same strategy on Mexico's southern border as well.

This has less to do with Mexicans than American (in name only) and foreign Corporations that set up their plants and warehouses in Mexico. The caravans can be stopped dead in their tracks if Mexico wants them stopped. Negotiating position is OK Mexico, if you want remittances from the US to continue, let's find a way to grant your WORKERS temporary status. We don't want your criminals and welfare cases. We also don't want your transients.
Make it more expensive for the outsourcers to stay there and they will adjust in their own best interests.

Trump certainly got Mexico's attention, didn't he? There is no way Trump acted impulsively on this. I wonder what else he has up his sleeve. It's one way to pay for the wall. Farm goods will be impacted, but we can buy avocados from Peru or the Dominican Republic, or maybe California can start shipping their's east for a change.

When elected in 2016 President Trump said the Mexicans would build the wall. He didn't say they would do it in 2017. Somehow I have a feeling they will get around to it.

Wondering if PDJT gave Meheeko a warning or just dropped this on ‘em.
The best part is that the tariffs increase every month. What that means,
señor Presidente, is that too many mañanas without results is going to get
muy expensisimo.
