We usually allow the dead to rest in peace because they no longer can defend themselves. But by using his funeral to get one last lick in on his opponents -- Republicans -- John McCain relinquished any claim to such decency.(Snip)It is not that I care how he treated President Donald John Trump; he gives as good as he gets. McCain´s banning of Sarah Palin from his funeral was -- in her words -- a gut punch. No gentleman hits a lady. And a commissioned officer never treats a loyal subordinate like that either.

I held my nose tightly to quash the stench of voting for John McCain... but even he was better than what we got.

How is anyone so churlish to treat Sarah Palin in that manner? I really believe he had serious mental and emotional issues. For his daughter and widow to make sure this spite is carried out demeans them greatly in the public eye.

I am sure the former VP candidate, Governor Palin, will never reveal the way she was really treated while running with McCain. We see the jealousy he carried about Trump. We can be sure Sarah suffered many unkindnesses from the McCain family as her popularity soared and John’s tanked during the campaign.

´Son of a gun´ a particularly meaningful phrase for McCain. Search the ancient meaning. Enjoy the humor.

McCain´s main contribution was helping Make America Great Again by being planted six feet under it.

This confirms what I’ve always suspected. He didn’t want to win and picked Governor Palin thinking that would tank his run immediately but it backfired big time. Imagine how appalled he was when all of a sudden people were excited about his running.
He was a little toad and also a snob.

This is why I follow Surber. He´s not afraid to call a pile of dung a pile of dung. And McCain was (and still is) a stinking pile of dung.

Sarah Palin shouldn´t be embarrassed by the funeral snub. She should wear it as a badge of honor. Small, petty, little man.

I´m not so sure he would have been any better than what we got. Didn´t they make a couple movies about him, named for a northern part of China?

Low-down two-faced lying cheating back-stabbing turncoat.
Some people are just rotten to their deepest core.
Count me as one who voted for Sarah. She might´ve won the White House against mister and mister stinky with the right running mate.
I have no quarrel with the horse he rode in on, so I will spare readers that portion of the epithet.
I like that. Hopefully someone had the good sense to toss that saddle on the garbage pyre.

Jealously, unforgiveness, bitterness, blame for failures on others rather than self. Those traits along with a brain tumor made for a very sad ending for this man.

Sarah Palin was saved the insult of having to prostrate herself to the worship of her faux hero "Mavericky" running mate.
Given what the McCain funeral turned into, I think is was a blessing for Palin that her good name was not a part of it.
To Ms. Palin, I would like to say that we all know that you are a better person than John McCain. Any slight against Sarah Palin from that family only reinforces our negative feelings about John McCain´s legacy. They are just too full of themselves to see it.

His grandfather and his father were actual, genuine US naval leaders of note who did great things when called upon in war. No question that they were great men.
The grandson was pretty much a lazy, "do you know who I am?" kind of jerk his whole life. He finished just short of the bottom of his class at USNA and was a problem everywhere he went, crashing aircraft, and causing trouble, and basically daring any of his superiors to punish him, knowing his WW2 hero father was still on active duty. A miserable punk his whole career. He flaked out, went AWOL (covered by his Admiral father) and lied about his part in the Forrestal fire, and even though it is provable that he was not responsible for it, he also did NOTHING to help fight the fire in the emergency when others were being real heroes and dying.
MAYBE he was different in the POW camps, stories conflict, and it was too long ago to be sure. If he did well, it was a real transformation from what his life had been up until then, and after, so I am doubtful.
Afterwards, he got worse every year, it seems.
Miserable, petty, vindictive, corrupt (Keating), cowardly (Forrestal fire), self-centered little man. Perhaps he was brave in the POW camps, but given his penchant for self-promoting lies, I wonder.

McCain and wife and daughter are alike in that they are just as mean and nasty as he was. The snub to Sarah Palin says it all. Mean nasty little creep.

I do not wish to speak ill of the dead.
But in this case, I may make an exception.
Reminds me of an old Wizard of Id cartoon.
In the first panel, Rodney (the King´s big-nosed stooge) is holding a clipboard and asking one of the peasants "What do you think about the King?"
Second panel, the peasant replies "He was a fine, generous, kind and wonderful man and I´m sorry he´s dead."
Third panel, Rodney says "No, he´s not dead. I´m doing a popularity poll."
Final panel. the peasant responds, "Well, then I wish he was dead."

I voted for Sarah and whoever that guy was running with her.
Still a certain decorum should be maintained. I hope to visit his grave someday to pay my respects, after drinking a whole lot of water first. Hope the line isn´t too long.

McCain´s own mother said hold your nose and pull the lever for John. I noticed John McCain´s brother was not at the funeral. Capt. Queeg was and will always be a evil person even in death.

McCain believed that he alone understood post-Cold War geopolitical matters but lost his chance as president to affect world events. He was a bitter self-serving arrogant shave tail who stabbed his commander-in-chief in the back as revenge for his own failings. He was never a leader or a general, but a soldier who rose far above his ability because of America´s deference to his war service and captivity. His grand funerary event was designed to bolster his image as the facts of the fraudulent TRUMP dossier were coming out. The damage to our political system as a result of McCain´s actions will be felt for a generation.

He voted to stop the repeal of Obamacare...unforgivable. He trashed W Bush for 8 years on the Sunday shows. He was untrustworthy. Like Bette Davis said when Joan Crawford died & someone said say something good , she said she’s dead that’s good.
