Mexico bows to Pres. Trump on ´containment´ of illegal aliens

This should have been done months ago. It´s somewhat like closing the barn door after the horses are out. There are thousands of illegals loose in our country that shouldn´t be here.

"Trust" but VERIFY. NO verification or a continued flow of illegals should mean ZERO US aid to Mexico AND 80% tax on remittances from the US to Mexico.

Mexico has always been against all forms of effective US immigration law enforcement efforts along the borderline that would hinder or stop so-called migrants, or intending illegal aliens, from successfully crossing the borderline and gaining unlawful entry to the USA.

Mexico has always held the position that any Mexican who wishes to has the human right to cross into the USA, regardless of USA “Gringo” Immigration law, to pursue a better life for themselves and their families, including while they are in the USA to be treated with “respect” and be granted access, just as US citizens are, to full employment, and to USA social welfare and healthcare networks. All that is not just wishful thinking but has become part of the Mexican way of life over many decades.

The Mexicans have also placed a provision in the Mexican Federal Constitution that prohibits Mexican law enforcement with interfering with or stopping so-called migrants from crossing the borderline from Mexico into the USA. That’s why the Mexicans want to limit their actions to a so-called “containment belt” in Southern Mexico, where anyone who can pay the Mexicans a bribe, consisting of whatever amount of “Mordida” (the bite) in accordance with corrupt Mexican culture that is requested, will still be able to pass through and be home free to the US borderline.

That’s the way the Mexicans have always operated, and until a severe hurt is put on their economy by the USA taking official action like closing the borderline, the Mexicans will never change. Another US action that would gain the Mexicans attention is cutting off money transfers from the USA to Mexico that millions of Mexicans, in the USA both illegally and legally, use to send billions of US dollars back to Mexico each year.

The people of Mexico are not happy with their president either.

Talks cheap. If he goes through with it AMLO could end up head first in a 55 gallon drum of acid. The cartels won’t be too happy.

This will change nothing. They will either bribe their way thru or dig a tunnel. 5 words will stop this: You are all going back! If these migrants know they will not enter the US no matter what, and they will be returned to Honduras, that would be the only deterrent. Instead, what do we get? Catch and release. Illegals are overrunning the country and straining our resources. Yet no one in Washington gives a damn. (except POTUS).

Fine. Round all of them up. Send them to California, New York, New Mexico and all the other blue states and say ´this is your home, do not leave it or you´ll be arrested.´ Let the blue states have them and we´ll concentrate on upholding the law in Red states.

I agree with OP. We will see what the actual results are. Until then, continue towards total border shutdown. Pain, lots of it, for Mexico.

If Mexico caved, it was because PT threatened to shut the border. That would hit the Mexico economy big time.

Poster #6 may be on to something. NY is already overrun with illegals. Cuomo needs them to replace the citizens fleeing. When more flee, he´ll eventually run out of money. According to local politicians, the 100% demonrat run goobermint is proposing at least 7 more county mandates. Cuomo won´t be satisfied until 100% of county raised taxes go to NY to coddle NYC and LI.

I think instead of Trump threatening to shut down the Southern Border, he should DO IT! Then make MEXICO prove that they have things under control before opening it again. That might take weeks or months, but it´s the only way to make Mexico´s President understand that President Trump means business!! Trump has threatened for months. It´s like saying to the kids "if you don´t stop that I will punish you", but you never do it! Time to quit threatening! Show your POWER, Mr. President!!

I noticed that anyone who survives in office in Mexico is involved with the Drug Cartel. During the trial of Joaquin Guzman (El Chapo) he admitted that President Enrique Pena Nieto let him do whatever he wanted and he also got a kickback (millions) from El Chapo this was revealed in court. How did Vincente Fox survive? I´m sure this President Andres Obrador is following in their footsteps or he would have been wiped out.

Declare defensive war on Mexico, bring our troops home and put them on the border, and establish a 50-mile-wide No Man´s Land. Anything that moves gets zapped. If Mexico does not straighten up, seize their oil fields and seize all remittances to Mexico from the US.

It´s amazing what the idea of a closed southern border can do to a socialist Mexican politician! The Mexican president knows, like we do, that when President Trump says he will do something, he will do it!

It´s his government´s fault, but rather than deal with it their Elites (Mexicans with more Spanish blood than Indian) want to make money from it by pushing their ´problems´ into the USA where their Indians can draw from our Welfare system and cash from low income jobs then send it to Mexico where it is infused into their "always on the brink" economy.

I have about as much confidence that ´AMLO´ will deliver on stopping illegal aliens from passing through his country to reach ours, as I do that ´JLO´ will do it. i.e. - virtually nil.
