It´s been three days since Attorney General William Barr sent Congress a four-page summary of the "principal conclusions" of special counsel Robert Mueller´s report on the Trump-Russia investigation. That´s not a long time, but it has been long enough for a passionate debate to arise between partisans who have not seen the report, played out for a public that has not seen the report, either. Uninformed arguments are everywhere. The Mueller report should have been prepared from the very beginning with public release in mind, and then made public the moment its completion was announced.

This is NOT the way it is supposed to work. The Mueller document is NOT supposed to be released, just Barr´s final report, which is not what he released.

York the reporter is talking here. He indulges in a lot of demands and how things should have been one, comparing the Russia investigation-Mueller affair to Ken Starr’s investigation, which is York’s first major error. Then he goes on to give all the reasons (as in legal reasons) why it can’t be done. Speculates that Mueller may have tried to get around the laws. But then again.
And on and on. A fan of Byron York for quite a while, I am appalled by this whining mess.

Releasing the report, which is NOT supposed to be released, will solve nothing. It will just muddy the waters as dems leap at even the slightest rumor, even when proven completely unfounded, for them to continue investigations.
Of course, that is EXACTLY why Mueller put his "does not exonerate" statement in there. It was payback for firing Comey and exposing the FBI and DOJ perfidy and the only thing he could get away with.

This is nonsense. Barr spelled out why it´s going to take time. The only reasons the democrats want the whole thing are to declare war on Mueller and Barr, undermine the report, write their own, and continue to resist. Since they can´t get grand jury info, they´ll claim a coverup no matter what else they get.

Huge swaths of the report cannot, by law, and for perfectly valid reasons, ever be released.
The grand jury proceedings are totally one sided, only the prosecutor can call witnesses, present evidence and ask questions of witnesses. There is no cross examination, and there isn´t even a defense counsel, there are no defense witnesses to rebutt whatever lies the prosecution witnesses may tell. These are the reason that the grand jury proceedings can NEVER be released. They are potentially just a smear, carrying a totally unwarranted imprimature of truth, when in fact, they are always guaranteed to be totally biased, unfair, one sided and incomplete.
NO way the whole report gets released.
Of course, Trump´s enemies want it released for just this exact reason, because it is guaranteed to be filled with unverified, unchallenged, untested claims, lies, assertions, and general BS, without any chance of the President to rebutt it before hand. Totally unfair, so the Dems would LOVE to have it released.

Someone tell MSNBC that there is Really, Realy incriminating evidence in the Mueller Report about Obstruction. Then, wait two weeks and release it.
I want to see them all cry again.

FTA: " The Mueller report should have been prepared from the very beginning with public release in mind..."
The Constitution is silent on the legitimacy of even having a special counsel investigate a president but given the dubious origins of Mueller´s appointment and intense polarization of his "investigation" from its inception and the nakedly partisan make-up of the Mueller team, the above statement by York actually makes a lot of sense. If the report summary was not favorable to the president, most of us, his supporters, would be going bananas to see the full Mueller report. Preparing it for public release from the start would have eliminated the need for Barr to potentially redact language that will start a new wave of accusations of cover up. In fact, the democrats are essentially giving the president a green light on releasing the trove of un-redacted documents that are central to the whole sham investigation, since their concerns of "national security" have melted away in their zeal to obtain the Mueller report.

The Demon-Rats keep calling for the release of the report, because they know it will never happen. But they want to give the impression that somebody is hiding something to protect President Trump (which the MSM will be happy to play right along with).
President Trump has called for the release of the report because he knows it will make him look good and the Demon-Rats look really, really bad.
If they released the report tomorrow, the Demon-Rats would be pooping gold bricks, and President Trump would be collecting them and using them to pay for the wall!!!!!

The same people who want Barr to release his report immediately were willing to wait 2 years for Mueller’s report.
