Former Vice President Joe Biden’s advisers are reportedly asking him to consider pledging to just serve one term in office if he wins his party’s nomination and faces off against President Donald Trump in the general election. (Snip)Biden’s advisers are discussing “a possible pledge to serve only one term” and framing Biden’s 2020 campaign “as a one-time rescue mission for a beleaguered country.” Biden is reportedly “uneasy with the prospect of pledging up front not to seek re-election,” though, “believing that it would make him a lame-duck president before he even takes office and cripple his ability to get anything done.”

It´s insane to talk about biden seriously as a candidate. He´s already tried for the nomination before and got in the single digits. Since then he has just got older and dumber, so why would anyone think he has a chance?

I´d guess they were thinking that will put them back on schedule...Hill was supposed to fill out these two slots.

Why not just start having pretend legislators submitting pretend legislation to him for his pretend signature.
This is counting your chicken way, way too long before it hatches. Biden should say, "Sure, Why not?" He is never going to be President in this reality, anyway. Not ever!

This would make him an automatic lame duck, so unless the Dems maintain the house (unlikely) and/or gain the Senate (unlikelier), his agenda would be DOA. The only areas where he’d have any effect would be federal or foreign affairs, where he has proven to be on the wrong side most of his career.

He has aged noticeably in the past year. Imagine Old Joe on the debate stage 1-1/2 years from now. He will be a lame-duck candidate.

Aside from Biden´s creepy "hands on" approach to women and children in public settings, let us not forget his multiple acts of plagiarism. He will be sold to us, like Comey and Mueller before him, as a man of unimpeachable character. He is none of that.

If Biden pledges to only run for one term, watch who goes on his ticket as the Vice-Presidential candidate, as that is the leftist or liberal Democrat who the Democrat high mucky mucks are going to run for President for the next two terms following Biden’s one term. Chances are that person is going to be a minority who has not yet emerged onto the national political scene.

"Biden Being Asked to Consider One-Term Pledge"
Isn´t that a nice way of asking him to not run, period?
The dems know he´s not up to running against Trump. They obviously have someone else in mind. There is a large enough field to choose from.

There won´t be any terms, so there shouldn´t be any problem making a pledge that will never have effect.

How bout pledging a no term deal. The dumbest man to ever get in the Senate and become VP needs to thank the gift horse for that. Quit while you’re ahead ok.

That pledge would be admitting he is an old feeble has been. He needs to get new advisors who actually work for him, ASAP.

Biden and bernie make quite a pair. Neither has ever accomplished anything (I take that back-I think bernie named a post office once) but line their pockets at the taxpayers expense. Lets see how much joe wants his ukraine dealings dragged out in public. There´s some collusion for ya.

Is this because the dems know that the rest of their field are Marxist loons and Joe is the only sane one who has an iota of a chance? The election is 20 months away and they are already drowning in desperation.
Especially now that the Mueller report won’t save them.

Wow, an olive branch from the idiot side of the Marxists to the fidiot side of the Marxists to get the fidiot side to vote for Joe if he´s the nominee.
(For Rio Lindans, the idiot side would be the Pelosi and Schumer lovers. The fidiot side would be the Beto and AOC lovers.)
Gosh, I wonder if the idiot side is lying to the fidiot side should Joe actually be the nominee. They wouldn´t lie to each other, would they?

It may turn out to be 0 term. Author Peter Schweizer is wring a book as we speak about Joe Biden and son Hunter. When VP he went to China on a mission from Obama and took his son Hunter along who colluded with the Chinese and made $1.5 Billion dirty deal.

If the pundits are correct and Trump is a shoo in, especially now that the Muller Report affirmed his innocence. Biden is their sacrifical lamb and gives all the others a chance to show off their credentials in prep for 2024. Probably a good strategy - especially for Beto and Warren. But then AOC should be a perfect candidate for them.

Okay now, I loathe Biden and everything he represents, but by our constitution, a candidate who wins gets TWO terms. I do not agree with trying to force even Biden into that kind of corner. To me, it just is not legal. Tying a candidate´s hands before he even wins is really stupid, even for dems.

I could probably enjoy sitting down with Joe and having a beer with him, he can be a likeable guy. But, Heaven help us if he was responsible for running the country.
There was a reason Obama chose him as his VP. With Joe standing next to him, Obama looked brilliant by comparison.
