The prospect of a 225-bed homeless shelter on the Embarcadero, one of San Francisco’s most scenic and economically vital areas, took residents by surprise. Only eight days earlier, the proposal had been unveiled to turn what is now a parking lot—Seawall Lot 330—into the largest homeless shelter of its type in the city. Neighbors arrived en masse at the Port Commission hearing to express their views. It was standing-room only, with people crowded on floors and in aisles, and spilling out the door. The fourth paragraph lends itself to how this going to end. The names of the characters running the show are right out of a Dr Seuss book.

For those who wonder what it would be like to live under the complete domination of liberalism, look no further than this article. The people’s will matters not. This proposal to plant this bum house in the middle of one of the most popular tourist spot in the City by The Bay is sure to cost millions in lost dollars. Not only is the city council contemptuous of the people objecting to this folly, they are also clueless to why the few and the brave continue to visit there.

And yet the Mayor will win re-election. Sadly you can’t fix this stupidity. You just try to avoid it.

On vacay in beautiful Newport Beach CA. Have not been to SFO (and their excessive landing taxes), since 2003....miss going, but have resolved never to visit the Tadich Grill again, the Park Hyatt hotel, the Petite Auberge, the White Swan, Club Fugazi (not sure if it is still around), ferry to Sausalito.....
Instead eating at the Ritz Carlton on Laguna Beach, the Montage, Pelican Hill, Lumberyard, usw - the list is endless and the beaches and sunset are glorious.

Sad part is, the people complaining about their homeless and drug problems are the same people who keep voting these politicians into office. Just another case that proves that the democratic voter is nothing more than a brain washed zombie. How many more cities have to be destroyed in front of their eyes before a democrat wakes up. The people leading your party don´t care about you or your family, they care about power and control over you. And they have it because YOU gave it to them. Do you freakin get it yet. Wake up.

Oh, c´mon San Franciscans. It is Socialism! You have been electing these crazy "Socialists" for decades now- you love them and their self destructive, loony ideas and actions. I mean, you people went all in for your self-proclaimed communist, ex-Mayor Gavin Newsom- Look what he did your your lovely city... So, don´t complain now. those Socialists have a body lock on your silly butts. They will do as they please and you voters can go straight to Hell. too late, you wake up to the evil of Socialism- and find you are now owned by it. haha. Enjoy it- ´cause, I guarantee you, you will keep right on electing them.

The old navy base at Alameda is almost deserted. Why not move them there. Plenty of room.

The San Fransisco city council and the Seattle city council could swap places and no one would know the difference.
It´s kind of like Venezuela, you voted for these commies, so now live with it.

When you have an hour, watch the KOMO news documentary "Seattle is Dying". Saw it on youtube after my WA state relatives recommended it. This is happening all over. I am a native Californian, but am preparing to move to somewhere less like a loony bin.

Maybe "they" did vote for it, but then again maybe overwhelming numbers of illegal aliens voted for it and drowned "them" out. Such is California.

This is what happens when self-fawning naïvely foolish dingbats hand out 400000 dope syringes every month under the pretext of compassion.
You get the Grand Central Station of dope-soaked bummery on The Embarcadero. Smooth move, San Francisco.
These aren´t good-hearted Depression-era breadline folks looking for a job. This is a diseased plague for which there is now no workable solution. Stacking and warehousing them in an Embarcadero “Navigation Center” (oh, please) will only hasten the suicide of this once-lovely city.
What´s the answer? There is no answer. It´s too late for that now.
Damn shame. Downtown San Francisco was truly awesome and wildly interesting until it became chemically besotted. Same with Manhattan. I´ve street-hiked both many times and it´s sad to see these urban gems fade to human dumpsterism.
Those of us who were born in the big cities during the 50´s are lucky lucky lucky.
