Presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren on Monday night called for abolishing the Electoral College. The Massachusetts Democrat said during a town hall on CNN that she would back a plan to scrap the process and move the country to a national popular vote.“My view is that every vote matters,” Warren said to applause. “And the way we can make that happen is that we can have national voting and that means get rid of the Electoral College — and every vote counts.” The electoral process, she said, effectively disenfranchises voters in states dominated by one party. “Come a general election, presidential candidates
No.
As a 14th generation, hard working, true American, I REFUSE to be disenfranchised by the illegal alien voters of California and the dead/fraud/fake “voters” of Detroit, Cook County, St. Louis, and Philly.
She apparently wants a Civil War.

Blah, blah, blah.
This would require a Constitutional amendment and the insane relinquishment of their rights by most of the smaller states. In other words, it´s never going to happen.
Besides that, it´s a massively BAD idea. It would turn the Country over to the states that are always in financial difficulty and can´t seem to manage their own affairs. They would spread their ineptness to the whole country. We too could be like Kalifornia with their wildfires, their dams that are falling apart from lack of maintenance, their interest in high speed trains to nowhere, their rolling brownouts, and their fiscal instability.

The demonrat socialists don´t want to take any chances this time--
Get rid of the rules in the Constitution, and they can thwart the will of each county to have a say in the results of elections--
Los Angeles County has more in population than almost 40 states, so the socialists don´thave to run national campaigns--just those on the left coast, New York, Illinois, and New England.
The Trump campaign didn´t take any states for granted, and as a result, they won key states needed to win and tapped into the issues and concerns people had about crooked and corrupt Hitlery.

It would turn the Presidency over to a few big leftist and liberal Democrat States permanently. All the other States would have little to say in electing future Presidents. The other States would have to be out of their minds to allow that to happen.

A popular vote system effectively disenfranchises all the low population states. Further, because minorities now have a voice in congress from the methods used to construct precincts, a popular vote system tends to disenfranchise the voices of minorities (as compared to proportional electoral vote states).

Fauxcahontas advocates for mob rule, something the Founders were in great fear of. They created the Electoral College for a reason, to keep manipulative, intellectual mediocrities like Sacajaliar from gaining too much power. They were correct to do so.

You´re right, Fauxahontas. EVERY VOTE MATTERS.
Which is why every vote in Wyoming or North Dakota matters just as much as every vote in NY or CA.

The Electoral College was probably the most intuitive and important aspect of the US Constitution. Without this provision, we would be speaking Swahili or Russajumbo with a sword at our throats every time we speak! The likes of the fake Indian would be holding the sword.

The problem Dems have is even though they have allowed millions of illegal immigrants into the US and to vote, they are mostly in states that are already blue so the illegal´s votes don´t do any good in elections with an electoral college system.
They need the illegals to move to red states and to vote there.

Actually #7, it would turn the election over to about 6-7 cities to control the election results. This list should just about do it: Chicago, NYC, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Cleveland, Houston.

No doubt the leftist and liberal Democrats would like to change the US Constitution in all ways that would give them a permanent electoral advantage and send the wimpy Republicans into permanent political oblivion. The result would be a one party dominanated presidency elected by a few Democrat States mainly on both coasts. Since the Electoral College is included in the US Constitution and can only be changed by a Constitutional Admendment that most of the smaller States would never approve as it would seriously diminish their future political power.

Bad Medicine Sacajawea.
Insurrections like this occurred right before the Civil War. The 14 States that have voted to accept the popular vote have seceded by default. In other words the Fed can´t accept those States votes now. You have to change the Constitution to do that. And they haven´t. But I´m one of those tin foil hat people that don´t think we will make it to the elections without Civil War breaking out any way. What´s going on isn´t sustainable.

What they are saying is people are being disenfranchised now, today.
And, they are by allowing winner-take-all EC votes instead of proportional allocation.
435 House seats equals 435 EC voting districts.
Just have winner of the popular vote in each district allocated accordingly.
Then, have 100 Senators, vote how they deem, likely partisan.
Wonder how many people living in districts that get pushed to Republican or Democrat on the winner-take-all, would suddenly find a reason to vote since it would count, or make a difference.

This is not" The People´s Republic of America"!
"President of the United States": it´s in the name.
States elect a President of The Union. Representative Democracy is brilliant. To follow their logic you would have to conclude that the Senate is redundant and unfair and has to be abolished first. But this isn´t about logic. This is about changing the rules to help them win. They have a long history of that. If the new system hurt them in an election they would change it back in a heartbeat. Just like they changed the rules in Mass for a Republican Governor and back when a Democrat won.
